My friend in Michigan also has this sled with the 2.4 track...which is a lynx only track not available on ski doo ....it has 35 percent more paddles than ski doo 1.8 track...and much stiffer. We have trimmed it down to a tad under 2 inches with a jig  and a meat carving serrated saws all blade...it looks factory...and increases track speed...and works well on the trail...hooks way better than anything currently available...and gives up very little in deep snow. We put cooling fins on the inside of the rear portion of the skis to throw ice and snow off the carbides into the windows on the track and they work 10 times better than scratchers...and never wear out...he has 5 k miles on his so far with zero issues...this sled weighs 570...and is much better than the ski doo extreme I traded in...which was a great sled...the radiator is also a great feature and I believe is the only 2 stroke that comes with one...looks like I,m headed to Cote North as things are looking good there

Looks good. Keep us posted on how she performs. Thank you!

I was thinking about Lac Moreau, I had forgotten about Trout lake.  They were kinda ball busters too, but it was a sweet place.

Funny story.  About ten years ago we stopped and ate there not knowing they mostly cater to reservations with full package only, so it wasn’t cheap and the food was pretty bad.  As we left I asked about gas.  It was waaaaayyyyy over priced, and I mentioned it, but needed it so we paid….So off we go back to the trucks.  Long story short we went the wrong way for about an hour before realizing the mistake we had made.  So we ended up back at his gas pump for another round a couple hours latter.  The guy laughed a little when he said that I liked his gas so much I came back for more…lesson learned, never run your lips to the guy with the gas, no matter how bad he gouges you.

Haha! I wonder if Noel 9 (owner) is still above ground.... The last time I stopped in he was looking pretty weathered. Sweet place though for sure.

    Very well could be.

That they are, forestry road's south west of Clova are being opened up to start cutting out the burnt trees that have salvageable timber. We came across plowed roads deep in above the Cabonga Reservoir. Claude from Le Pensive confirmed. But the logging activity near Clova trail (83) from what I saw was not burnt timber.

How was Lepine Road.  Happen to be groomed at all?  Any logging?

No grooming, pretty much single track from Le Pensive , logging and plowed the last 12 miles into Clova. The cut across from Lepine to Cheval was not broke.

13s out of Clova is perfectly fine, groomed the whole way. He is talking about 83 W. out of Parant towards Clover. There are 30 miles plowed and sanded one way. Loaded logging trucks that want to kill you. Trail should definitely not have been opened.

Yes for sure, was in Clova Monday for lunch via Lepine rd. and spoke with a group from VT. that were less than impressed with the 83 East of Clova. By any chance you?

  6. I’ve been using a Garmin Tread 8” Overlander  for 1.5yrs. Has all the features that I’m interested in, inreach, tracking, SOS, texting, route planning on either trails or forestry roads etc.and many more. Very easy to view.
Was considering the 10” but am more than satisfied with the true 8”. It’s never froze up (always powered in the cradle) and goes inside whenever I’m at.

Yes it was a day trip, approx 187km each way. I had a bit more track spin than others with a 1” track lol.

There is a parking area in Swisha at the Park Office. A lot of people will drive to KM 13 and unload there but then you are parking on the side of the road.

Is the parking area on the Quebec side of the bridge at the ZEC dumoine visitor center?

I'm assuming you rode up to Kipawa and back? Where did you unload? Public lot or?

Who has tried out the new Exome helmet? I have a, when they first came out BV2S. I like everything about it except the weight. Never had a heated visor on it and never fogs up. I see the Exome is only $350 and the Bv2s is still $550. Would i be down grading going to the Exome?

Have you considered the CKX mission? I own one and it is hands down the best helmet I've ever worn. I've owned a few ski-doo helmets including BV2S and sold all of them.

Try the Rodeway Inn just north of Amos. Direct access to trails, gas next door, free early breakfast, lots of parking, small swimming pool. There is also news about the trail over the Herricana River being closed by a landowner and might affect access to the two hotels previously mentioned here. BTW thanks to snomaster 2112 for posting about this place when it was just opening - been there twice since, a nice find.

We used the Amosphere while in Amos direct trail access with indoor sled compound, granted it was nothing special, but it was inside.

Same here, only no dining on Sunday nights. Call in delivery only. At least the last time I was there.

Take as you like but a bunch of adults that are scared of a needle come on .Remember Canada has free Heath care ,we’ll sort of as we are taxed to death to pay for it .But if you are in Canada and get sick I hope you don’t attempt to butt the line to get in front of a Canadian citizen .Just my 2 cents .

It’s surly not the needle that I avoid, it’s the agenda that is shoved down my throat $$$$$$$ http://quebecrider.com/forums/uploads/monthly_2022_09/355A3DE7-E1DF-4607-819B-488D3C6A3328.thumb.png.b17899f01de0778ed60d69eb0e40b3ac.png
