Trailblazer
Day 1 Today we left from Pincourt(Monteregie Region) drove to Nominingue(Laurentians Region) 5am-7:30am. Departed on sled at 8:00am took the detour on the south side of Mount Laurier to the Classic (Outaouais Region) had lunch then headed to La Domaine what a piece of sh$& trail twisty and hilly like crazy and to add to it sleet snow freezing on contact of your visor, put up with this for about a 170klms whipping visor just about every 10 seconds. But there was a prize in the end, the last 60klms to Trout Lake (Abitabi Region) was freshly groomed and real sweet, keep in mind that from La Domaine to Trout Lake it is 220klms with no gas, I used both of my 5 litre containers to get there. Trailblazer
[attachment=16875:image.jpg Oh ya! 266 miles and in at 6....a cabin in the woods never looked so good, 220k no gas, beat up trails for 170k and whipping your visor repeatativly for hours...= no fun. Snowmobiling is always an adventure!

Florida Snowman
X2 on the gas at Pavillion Laverendrye. It's about 7 miles south of 63 on a local trail. Glad they were there last march. Have fun today JG. Conditions will be much better for you than yesterday's ride. Tom
Trailblazer
We saw the intersection trail for Pourvoirie La Verendrye but decided to skip it as it was getting late in the day, the distance for Trout Lake showed 190klms, easy as the Indian reserve was 200. Something else to watch out for trail 63 crossing to the west side of the parc from the intersection for the Indian reserve has no signage at all, it was a guessing game, GPS came in handy. Oh ya...it was an Apex highway 10k all the way.
Jackstraw
That doesn't sound encouraging, we will be through there tomorrow . Hope the groomers fix it, we are at Le cabannon. Trails rough the whole way from shawinigan till we passed a groomer 10 miles from cabanon . Never been to cabanon before, don't know what people see in this place except for large crowds! Can't wait to leave this area!

Jackstraw
There must be 100 sleds in the corral. They wait until everyone is running then wave the green flag, GO! LOL!

Trailblazer
Day 2 Today was well worth yesterday's punishment, we left Trout Lake at 9:15 and bombed down the road into Belleterre only to find the only gas station in town opens at noon. Well after knocking on a few doors and begging, nobody gave in btw, the owner of the gas station who lived upstairs saw us doing our bit around town she was kind enough to sell us some gas before opening hours. Lost about 45 minutes there but made up for it on the oolala trails. All freshly groomed, 63 to 303 railbed then listened to my Yammy sing that tune again. 83 to Rollet for lunch. Continued on to Rouyn then hooked up with 93, local through St.Germain-Boule and back on the 93 to Amos. In at 6 with 282 miles Amosphere. 93 was a little rough had to keep it under 150 Beep Beep. Florida Snowman
I'm so happy for you guys Jean-Guy! That is an amazing area full of great trails and wonderful snow levels. Enjoy!! Nothing like the sound of a 10K Yami on those straightaways eh? It's almost a spiritual experience! Be safe and have fun tomorrow. Thanks for the reporting and the pics. Can't wait to leave this area! YES! very crowded there, I found it to be a great place to leave the truck and trailer. Never an issue been parking there for 15 years. Plus the groomers leave from there parking lot everyevening so when you departed I am sure the trails were 8 to 10.
