Tmehl
We are coming up Friday for a few days and staying in Roberval looking for cool things to plan trips to see any thoughts? Never been up there and willing to explore.
MrGutz
Hey How many miles a day do you normally ride? Loops from Roberval may be a little difficult, I would recommend re-booking at the Delta (a little more central) , from there you can do a Tour the Lac, Tour the Fiord, Valin Loop, Mt Apica and Bill is there and he is a wealth of info! Get a map, Get the App (for Grooming updates) POI -Mt Valin, Several Lookouts and Relays. -Mt Apica (DEW Line lookout and Relay) -Mt Valin, Frozen Waterfall -La Bay Ice Village -Tour the Lac -etc... revct1
Welcome to QuebecRider Tmehl. Very good suggestions from Team Gutz if you can switch. If this is your first time to Lac St Jean, I would figure on 150-200 miles a day. You are going to cover 25-30 miles in an hour while you are riding. You will be driving faster than that but that is the overall average. If you are locked in to Roberval you can still get plenty of good riding in. You probably wouldn't do Mont Valin unless you are in to a 250 mile day. You could still comfortably do a lunch at Relais Mt Apica and view the lookout on trail 23 or lunch at Relais des Lacs in Labrecque on 328 or lunch at Relais Mont Vilain in Lamarche on 367. You can still get in a Tour du Lac thru Alma with a lunch stop at Ski Bee Doo in St Gideon on trail 23. These trips should be under 200 miles each. Other good stops are Auberge Eva on trail 355 at the top of Lac Bouchette and Relais Vauvert on trail 367 on the north side of Lac St Jean near Peribonka. Don't be afraid to take the green and yellow trails. They will be some of the best riding there. Enjoy! Jack & Sandi daytripper
Tmehl
So we just got back from our trip and it was great!! Had a rough go getting out of the Maurice area due to mechanical issues so we delayed one day but we're able to stay 2 nights around Lake Saint Jean. Trails were good getting there with the exception of large section of 355 that hadn't been groomed in quite some time. Trails around Roberval were great we stayed at the chateau Roberval and they were very accommodating with our changes. Next day we did a trip around lake's south side to St Alma and did local trails around for an easy 150 miles. We found sno-cross on lake made it back to hotel early for dinner. Our ride back to St Geveive de Batiscan was amazing! We took trail 23 pretty much all the way to St Raymond and it was 200 miles of groomed paradise. Trails were wide open smooth and scenery was amazing. One of group had his 64th birthday on the trails and what a gift. Can't wait to come back for a longer trip, and thank you to locals for making it a welcoming experience. having trouble uploading pictures, hope to get some up here at some point. PLAYHARD
Glad to hear you enjoyed! Isn't there a Beatles song about 64? That 200mi of 23 is a definite fav. Tmehl, nyskidooerinnewhampshire and mcstar
