  1. Bob, Just saw your pics of the Garmin tread, looks good, and I like the center mount. Thanks for the pic that helps seeing it all set up.
  2. I was looking at the Garmin Tread also, not sure what I will get at this time, thanks for the input. You’re right we stopped for lunch at Pourvoire La Dore last year which was great and had a good visit, good to hear they are doing well.
  3. Ice, Great pics, always enjoy following your trips, headed that way next week with our group of 6. Was wondering what your GPS was and what you would recommend, after 20 years my Garmin finally gave up. Thanks Fred
  4. Great news, good job Gary.
  5. Totally agree with how valuable this site is. I have been riding Quebec since 1987, that makes me old with lots of experience. I remember making dozen phone calls before planning trips trying to figure out were the best snow and conditions were. I would call Dennis at LeCabanon back when there was no connect trails to Parent and he would explain which way to go. Our group was one of the first to find our way to Relais 22 then onto Lac Saint Jean, with most of it not being groomed nor marked. Now I log into QR and not only do I find great trail reports with lodging and gas locations that sometimes aren’t listed on the map, I get to see some of the greatest pics you could ever ask for. I miss Towings reports, but follow the boys from Vermont and pay special attention to Iceman and crew, who we got to meet last year at the Caribou on our Gaspe trip, they helped us with a fuel pump problem, thanks. For you who are much younger and never been without these modern tools we have now, don’t take this valuable resource for granted. I am not computer savvy but read this site daily during the season, yet post very little. Which brings me to my message, that I realized after reading the concerns many of you have with the survival of QR site that it is important for us to help support QR financially, which I have not been doing. With that being said I don’t have a lot of money in my retirement years, but have become a contributing member last week, trying to do my part for this great site, as all of us should. It would be a shame if I had to start making all those phone calls again. Fred
  6. Do you guys have any info on trail conditions for Saint-Raymond north to the Delta, and beyond, Thanks
  7. Looking to ride for 3 or 4 days, looks like Rivière-du-Loup area is acceptable, was wondering about La Tuque or Saint Raymond heading towards Lac Saint-Jean. Thanks in advance.
  8. I have changed a couple of them for my riding buddies because my hands are smaller and I can. That being said you are correct it is a bear to do, thanks for Fred Harmon’s video. Love the note idea I am going to steal that if you don’t mine. I have a 23 DCT with a Roadsmith trike, great set up other then air filter.
  9. Carrying a spare set of springs for Rouski wheels is a great idea Ice. Wondering if you know where you got them and maybe part number if that’s not asking to much. Thanks
  10. Wondering if anyone has first hand knowledge of trail conditions around Mont-Laurier and if the river crossing is ok.
  11. I don’t post offen usually for help planning trips. I have been reading Quebec Rider forever and riding Quebec longer, since 1987 to be exact, and it’s hard to think of a trail or area I haven’t rode. This years final trip was to do the complete figure 8 of the Gaspe, which I have done many times. The weather was warm but overall conditions were good, a little snow starve around Carleton. For this trip my grandson, Hunter was able to go over college break with over crew, which at my age this was very special to me. My riding crew, Dennis, Chuck and Tommy all have known Hunter before and we had a great time. Chucks sled 900 turbo ski doo started acting up 30 miles before our stay at the Caribou hotel, but he was able to limp in with. So this is where the other special part of this trip gets me to post. At the Caribou we meet several Quebec rider members I have read over the years. First we met Linda sled girl and her husband Joel and have a visit and she sends a pic to our old friend Saguenay Bill who I haven’t seen now in a few years. Onto the restaurant after settling in and we met Iceman and NH Moose and Snohorse. These guys were very friendly and most helpful with our sled problem. Turns out to be exactly what NH moose though it might be, the sock filter in the fuel pump. Great visit with Ice and crew at dinner and breakfast then off to BRP dealer in Gaspe. Great service here folks, took Chucks sled right in and had the fuel tank off and pump out within 45 minutes replacing a nasty looking fuel sock and very dirty in line fuel filter as well. Probably got some bad fuel somewhere. Price was reasonable and the folks at EM ski doo Gaspe were top shelf. Then onto Murdochville for the night, but not before meeting Iceman and crew again on the trail, another meeting with them the next day on local 150 north of New Richmond. I have always had great responses to questions I have asked on Quebec rider in the past as I plan my next adventure, but I must say it was special finally meeting some of the folks that have helped me on the site in the past. Just when you think you have rode every trail along comes Icemans private trail the 150 which was perfect and that brings me and our crew to the end of another season. To all have a great summer and stay healthy and safe, Fred
  12. Got it iceman, that’s what I was wondering, our group not running wheels. Thanks
  13. Wondering how trail access to hotels in city of Gaspe is. Roadway Inn says about 1/4 mile from access trail I presume on side of the street, just how bad or good is it. Been on the Gaspe many times never gone into the city of Gaspe. Thanks in advance
  14. Got it, thanks, Blueblood
  15. Was wondering if Double Tree Hôtel north of Quebec City was still open with connect trail to it, don’t see it on iMotoneige.
