  1. Thanks guys. It seems that years ago we only rode the major trails and then we found the green trails were great. Now the local trails are just as good as either of the two. I think it shows how proud of the clubs are of their local trails and keep them special.
  2. At the grocery store in Clayton NY near the T I Bridge last weekend I seen a Ontario plate. We do have a lot of duel citizens in the area. It did make me wonder.
  3. Any trail on Gaspe Peninsula is fine with me. Of course the western flat open trials trails are pretty special too. I do like 93 from La Dore to Quevillon. Now where is the M 20 local trail? I just watched the video and. I want to go there. Now all that needs to happen is the snow comes and the groomers need to groom. Be safe all and have a good summer.
  4. I'd get a brand if I could still ride my snowmobile and go to Quebec. I think I'd rather get a tattoo.
  5. Question for all. Trump's doctors suggested that people may have to carry a certificate that you have been tested for the virus. Some have said they didn't think they should made to get tested for some reason or other. If anyone here agrees with the some of the people would you change your mind if the Canadian government said in order to come into our country you have to carry a paper saying you have been tested and you do not at this time of the being tested did not have the virus. Would that change your mind. Remember snowmobiling is always a adventure. Be safe all.
  6. I agree with most of what has been said. The money being handed out is just to put money in circulation they say. It is strange that one might you are getting 400 a week on unemployment and the next check you get 1000. More than you made when you are working. As for giving money to small businesses to pay their help and bills to stay afloat if they don't stay in business then no one has a job to come back to. The government would just put them on some sort of program with no income to the government from wages. One other thing is I do wonder about waste full spending. We have New York's finest and it's all about money. He ran the state in the gutter and now he wants the government to bail him out. That's the hole country. Sorry for venting. Bob I as well worked for myself all my life and I truly believe I would have gotten through this without government help. Of course now that I am retired so to speak I don't think about what is going on like I would of. I ask my dad one time what it was like to go through the depression. He said it ment nothing to him because his life never changed. He also only worked for himself.
  7. This may sound crazy but last fall my youngest son came home from NC and was sick with the flu. Any way the stuff he had went through the family that he was around. They deer hunted and I worked and was not around him. In the end of December my brother was sick with a fever and was weak for all of January. End of January, just before I had plans to go to Quebec I came down with something. I started on Saturday morning coughing so hard I couldn't breathe. Went to urgent care on Sunday morning and was tested for the flu. It came back that I didn't have the flu. The doctor said no flu but maybe bronchitis. He gave me meds for ten days and pills for the cough for 10 days. I get bronchitis and the cough stays with me for weeks always. I was over the cough in 4 or 5 days. A week later my wife came down with a fever and it lasted 3 or 4 days. After all this stuff we were both weak for 3 weeks. There is several people in the area believe they were sick with something like they never had before. What I would like is to see a test to see if a person has already had this shit and didn't even know it. Again I may be crazy but I honestly think we were sick with this virus. Be safe all and keep your spirits high.
  8. I've been finishing things I started 30 years ago. First last year our septic system stopped working so I built a new septic system this last week. New tank and leach field. Never really got the yard high enough when we built the house so the tank got rinsed and field got brought up so with the my old truck I've hauled in 25 loads of dirt. Just have to condition the soil and seed. New tank went in a different area so the lines in the cellar all had be moved. So now we are good for another 30 plus years. Next is cut next years wood. Wife and I have did it together. Bonding.
  9. I guess we decided that after all the quotes coming out from politicians that the possibility of next year not being able to do much sled riding we are going to ride our sleds another year. We still have an other years warranty and our sleds are in good shape. I hate it for BRP but I couldn't take having a brand new sled and only ride it around the yard.
  10. My doctor, s office called me today to schedule an appointment for next month. I've thought about this and I am going to try to get a prescription for the Z Pac, which I have taken before over the years and Hydro stuff, too long for me to spell out, to have on hand. The previous by GSX800 is amazing. As bat poutine, NO. We have a bat once in a while visit us. Best way to catch them is with the top from a plastic cargo bin.
  11. Believe me there is so many people that have no cense or just are in denial. Case in the small town across the river is a 90 + year old person was tested at local hospital and came back positive. They think her grand daughter who works as a nurse might of brought from work not knowing of course. It gets worse. The home she lives in, one of her children's, needed a new bathroom flooring installed. They had a local floor installer come in and do the project and then told him the mother was sick and tested positive. He is now home roofing his own house and not very happy. I take that back maybe they are just stupid,
  12. Oh Bob don't ever say we might not be able to ride next year. Besides I heard tests show that the best thing to do is ride a snowmobile when the temperature is below freezing. The virus can't catch you. Really.
  13. What I hear is each state is different so let's leave it up to the govenor. Am I wrong to say that.
  14. I wasn't around until mid 90,s and then the trails were groomed but you very seldom seen a groomer. My question is were the trails groomed or was it a path and leveled by sleds and mother nature.
  15. In 1995 I was going through some rough personal time and my youngest son said get a snowmobile and go ride with Bob. I hadn't really rode a snowmobile since the mid 70's. Some might remember one of these , I had a 340 Polaris TX fully modified from the factory. One of the ones that the pipes were on the out side. I trail rode it with a 6000 rpm clutch. It was a riot. It now hangs from the ceiling in a bar room some where so I was told. Before that my dad bought me a Massey Ferguson SKi Whiz. Back to 1995 I bought a 583 Ski Doo Formula Z. I needed someone to ride with so I went and found Bob Ingerson. We rode every weekend and afternoons when the river froze over. We rode Tug Hill and the goal was 100 miles per day. Always had a large group. Robert seem to know where to go when trails got rough. He has past and he was my greatest riding pardner. He used to call me at 1 am in the morning and say that so and so said the grommer just went by a certain place on tug hill and do you want to go check it out. Of course I'd say sure and tell him I"d need a little time to get my sled ready. No problem he'd say I already got it loaded. He was in my driveway with the sleds ready. Then one day he said , we are going to Quebec. Over the summer he had met someone from the Hull area who rode and the guy called him and wanted us to come up. Bob had a trailer that would carry 6 sleds and towed it with a 350 4 door ford truck. We were like a semi truck trailer going down the road. We drove up past Maniwaki and stayed in a motel off 117 I believe. I think it was or near the Classic. Next day headed west on 63 to Lac Joncas. I remember the wall was covered with pictures of the Montreal Canadians hockey teams. I was told that the teams would come there for R&R. From there we use to go to a little place in Bowman. They had a wooden bridge frozen in the river in front of the place to get to the other side. We spent a couple winters there and then I packed up and moved to NC. I don't know if Robert ever went back or not. In 2005 my oldest son calls me and says what about flying up and we can go to Quebec riding for the weekend. I was there in 2 days. We drove to Mont Laurier and rode to Clova. Spent 2 nites there and headed back. On the way back we came down the trail that use to come out at the Le Rabaska Lodge. That was a trip I'll never forget because Christopher blew up his 800 renegade. As it goes I towed him 50 plus miles. Doesn't matter now because we made it home. After getting home in NC I some how looked on Craigslist and there is a 2005 renegade 800 with 1000 miles on it. No problem , send me cash dad and i'll go get it. I also have another son who still lives in NC says to me you bought a snowmobile. On the phone he gets to a friend who sold Ski doo sleds. Dad you aren't going with out me. Since 2007 I have rode with one of or both of my sons ever year. David and I have our 7 to 10 day trips and Christopher and I have our 3 and 4 day trips. The 3 day trips are a couple times a year. We have ridden in all areas of Quebec and really I don't have a preference. What I like to see is the people of my age and older still riding. There is no better place to just think then on a snowmobile. David knows when I am deep in thought because I slow down. So I guess I got to experience my first ride in Quebec twice. If only my old buddy Bob could have stayed around to when I come back . He only loved Arctic Cats but he did put my Ski Doo on the front of the trailer with his sled.
  16. Don't understand how this stuff travel? I live about 1.5 miles from a small town and the word is that a young person in this town has this virus. Two weeks ago he was at a party in the next town north east of here with lots of friends. Today the word is the next town up river has people with symptoms. I sure hope these party people don't infect their grandparents. Oh by the way that 1.5 mile I have between this town and me is a River and I'm scared as Crap.
  17. Put a locked drop box with a sign for donations for riding on her land. She may find out what nice people snowmobilers are. Only a thought. Hotels and gas station might donate too.
  18. As far as the economy who would of believed a virus could do this. The Canadian dollar was weak before the virus hit I believe. All of this does make me wonder how really bad this virus is. Are we not being told everything. Am I being paranoid, I hope so. Where I am I think there has been only one confirmed case in the county but rumors have it Fort Drum has cases. I can't amagine what some are going through. I thing we do have to think about is. As all of us beings snowmobile riders we all think we are still active enough not to get this stuff. Anyway my wife and I were talking about it and were both thinking it seems to effect the elderly the most and it hit me that we are part of the elderly. Be safe all.
  19. I believe and I may be wrong that Ski doo and other maker have a large number of parts already made ready for assembly. I would think they would want to get these parts sold and not sit on inventory for a year. Some times I would think even huge companies would want to promote selling at cost even rather then sit on product for who knows when. Maybe the Canadian banks will help. Only My Thoughts.
  20. I would hope your dealer would be calling you this weekend or next week. I kinda can relate because I went to mine and he gave me the MSRP for a new sled and the lowest book price for my old one. Oh yes I am trading in two sleds and buying two new ones. The conversation took 5 minutes and oh yes pay me and bring the sleds to him in the fall. And if you get a chance to sell them for do that too. Heading to a new dealer before the 14th of April.
  21. Moved back home on Saturday. Only used my phone for to get on line. Laptop screen makes that trip more scary. They say the super long track sleds don't go fast but by the looks of that they can get you hurt.
  22. We usually get 1500 to 2000 miles a year and it's 99 percent in Quebec. I'm more afraid of riding on tug hill than the virus. It's just a great sport even at 30 below. All rides in Quebec are wonderful but some are more wonderful. Have a good summer. Next year is not that far away.
  23. I keep looking at this picture and I think he could of went for 11000 but he was out of gas. At least his gas light was on. Lol
