  1. That's going to be difficult to accomplish, I would think. Apart from actually finding a "safe" place, and the logistical challenges that @Iceman mentioned, you are going to have to potentially deal with shoveling out, dead batteries etc.... Are you planning on traveling from Florida, or some far warm place? I hope things change, but the snowmobile season seems to be getting shorter and shorter. Being retired, perhaps you should consider spending the month of February in the Province, and call it good. One trip in, one trip out. Other than that, perhaps work with a hotel you trust, that could manage your vehicle and sleds, and maybe even shuttle you to and from the airport. All at a cost and risk of course. Good luck.
  2. I guess they maybe have their place. Perhaps as rentals at a resort facility. Certainly, and obviously, not as backpacking on the Nineteen Thousand miles of groomed trails in La Belle Province.
  3. This made me laugh. I am sure it will happen. In Maine, the snowmobile trail system is known as the ITS (Interconnected Trail System)
  4. The foot plus of heavy wet snow we received here in Southern Maine would have made a nice base, in January🙄🤪... I am very thankful that I installed a standby generator last year. Currently still close to 300,000 customers still without power state wide. Yesterday A friend asked me if I would be taking my machine out... My machine is going to be my Kubota Tractor with plow and front end loader. After the concrete snow on top soft gravel is dealt with, it's on to downed trees. 😀 Winter Storm 4 April 2024
  5. Indeed. As I mentioned above, I have been contributing for several years, sometimes multiple times per year. I have never received any correspondence from anything or anyone that has anything to do with Quebecrider Dot Com. Is John Rowe a member here? Anyhow, I am very happy to contribute to the site, I just wish I could be more certain that the money I am contributing is actually benefiting the site. I would also like to take a moment to thank all those who moderate, and otherwise run the site, and make it possible. Thank you for your time and effort.
  6. Certainly no surprises there. Most definitely a weather dependant sport. And weather is crtainly not dependable.
  7. Very Sad. Condolances to the families.
  8. Congratulations! Enjoy, it's a great bike, despite the air filter.🤪
  9. It Snowed in Maine yesterday. Northern and interior areas got quite a bit. I guess a few of the clubs might groom. Here in Southern Maine we got about four inches before it turned to freezing rain. My birch trees got tired and laid down for a nap. The power went out just after 9:30 last night. still out this morning just before 4:30. I am thankful for the stand by generator that I had installed last year. I spent the day yesterday working on my motorcycle. Changing the air filter on my 2018 Honda Goldwing. I thought the previous generation Goldwing was bad. This is worse. A ridiculous process. It was a good day for it. I left a note for the next guy that does it. When I wrote it, I was determined that it would not be me.... Changing The Air Filter on a 2018 Honda Goldwing
  10. Indeed, 860 more than I did though. As the Sports teams say. Looking forward to next season.... 😀
  11. 👍💪🏄‍♂️
  12. 👍I never get tired of the Gaspesie!
  13. Yes indeed. I would love to get back to La Belle Province on the summer Sled. Good opportunity to check out some places to stay in the winter. Here's a trip from quite a few years ago on the old 2001 Wing. I put 221k miles on that one. Gaspesie on the Wing
  14. Awesome. Glad you were able to get the trip in, with good conditions.👍💪
  15. Rest in Peace. I stayed there back in the mid nineties. I recall recruiting my mother to make the phone call to make reservations. I was not confident in my French over the phone. I believe she actually spoke to him. I recall all the signs in the area on the roads and trails with his trademark black Handlebar Mustache.
  16. I am glad the original poster was able to make arrangements. My best one was in Houlton, Maine 1990. Brand new Ski Doo (GLX?) It was a one up touring with the MX 462 motor I believe. Had a steering component fail in the parking lot at Pizza Hut. A very knowledgeable gal answered the phone at the SkiDoo shop. She delivered the part and we repaired it. Not much later that afternoon, the motor quit. We towed back to the parking lot at Pizza Hut and made the call. (No Cell Phones) Dealer came and got the sled. The guys got directions to get to the shop by trail, and I was to ride double back to Shin Pond. Hours passed, and darkness fell. I was standing under the Ski Doo sign holding my helmet. The owner's son asked what my plan was. I said I would have to wait. I had no way to communicate with my friends. He offered me his Nineteen Eighty something F-150. I waited until my friends showed up, then drove to Shin Pond. The next morning I called the shop a little after 0800 to inquire what they thought the time frame would be. They advised it would be ready when I got there. We loaded one sled into the truck and drove over. I filled the truck with gas and left a 12 pack on the seat. I offered to pay the son cash also. He was more than happy with what I had done. Great Family business, and great people. That kid did not know me, and gave me his truck. Not sure that would happen today, even in that area. I don't recall what was wrong with the sled, it might have been a piston. It was heat related. That sled had no vents at all in the hood. They were able to work on it the afternoon I brought it in. I traded it for a 1991 Mach 1 after that season.
  17. I had to look up "SEPAQ" @icemandescribed it perfectly. They employ 3400 people.......🤐 More tax dollars at work.....🙄😞 SEPAQ
  18. Awesome. I am glad you were able to get out and enjoy it. 👍
  19. Have a good day on the trails Mr. and @Mrs.Ice @iceman and @Snohorse.
  20. Zero miles for me also. I drained the stabilized fuel that I filled it with in March 2023 out of it Tuesday. I will burn that in my zero turn mower in a few weeks. Kudos to those that are out on the trail now. 👍💪 Best of luck! I came back to the truck in mud and gravel last March. That sled is still not completely clean. Hopefully 2025 is better.
  21. I did not get out once. Disappointed, but no regrets. There are certainly worse things in life that could happen. I will register my sled for 2025 on July 1 , and buy my Quebec and New Brunswick Trail Passes as soon as they are available like I usually do, and look forward to next year.
