  1. Awesome Mike. Looking forward to a ride report tomorrow night. Enjoy Mon Ami!
  2. Val dor to Barrage Gouin is about a 300 mile day. Nice place to stay and great food. 100 Lacs is also an excellent option.
  3. My thoughts on Perce Travel the TQ5 past the Perce trail, if it is groomed go in for sure, it is just a step. If it is not groomed it will take longer for sure. What are you missing if you do not go in......a picture sitting on your sled in front of one of the most iconic viewscapes in all of Quebec. If pictures are not important, no loss, otherwise unless you plan on another trip you will never be any closer.
  4. That sucks, the damage to the cab does not look too serious. The rest hopefully a pressure washer and heat garage will take care of.
  5. In the past Groomer would go out with his drag loaded up with signs. I am guessing some clubs don't put signs up till there is enough snow to groom. Lots of fields the signs are stood up in snow, no snow on the ground 10 days ago.
  6. Touch the Menu button top left, then Itinerary, 3 dots will let you toggle between Miles or Kilometers.
  7. Towing said just exactly what I expected when I saw the question. The FCMQ has always held back on posting trails open till signage is in place. I have seen this for years. A law suit that should not have gone against the club gets everyone up tight and adds new regulations. Also as Towing said, it was grass a week ago, clubs need time to set up trails. Thanks for sharing Alain.
  8. Agree 100%. Stayed last year with frozen dinners, and the bar closed early. Gas and go till things change.
  9. You seem to see at least one of these pictures every season. Hopefully there was no major damage to the groomer.
  10. I have always run Garmin GPS's on a handle bar mount, they work perfect in wet, dry, hot, or cold. Would cell phones still work good when it gets really cold?
  11. Ram Mounts can be very versatile. Possibly start with a RAM Tough Claw on the bumper.
  12. It does not look like the Quebec ATV Association recognizes Polaris Ride Command, hard to say how snowmobile/ATV mapping will be shared in the future. Could end up being only who the Federations decide to partner with.
  13. It helps clubs in remote areas that may not have big memberships, but lots of trail and traffic. ie: areas like Clova or Murdochville It also works for areas that have heavy traffic and need to groom more often ie: Mont Valin
  14. Nova Scotia has been working on a similar groomer equalization model for several years, I believe it is the best way. Send money to the clubs that are doing the most grooming.
  15. I see some green showing in the trail conditions section of the interactive map! The only good conditions all the way across Canada I think. Been an extremely slow start to winter. Funny thing, we have been paying Trudeau's carbon tax for months....we should have feet of snow! LOL
  16. Thanks for sharing Iceman, I will make sure my brightness is maxed out right from the start. Hopefully your issues are isolated and not like that on all 700i.
  17. Yes I have looked at the different options. I am thinking the annual plan vs monthly since I will use it on the SxS as well.
  18. I just ordered a new Garmin Montana 700i GPS. My Montana 600 started acting funny periodically last spring when mounted on the side by side. Looking forward to the new unit, it has lots of upgrades from the 600 including LARGER screen size. One really nice feature of the 700i is the Inreach, and SOS capabilities. Hopefully will never use the SOS, but the Inreach text gives the option of messaging home when away to say "in safe for the night". This is handy when staying at remote locations. You can also send a text saying you are in trouble but not an emergency. I use my GPS on the sled and side by side so will have lots of different maps loaded on it. I have already seen the advantage of having multiple maps loaded.
  19. Will be good to have young blood in the group.....to pull on the skis of more mature snowmobilers when we have an off trail experience.
  20. Wow! Been an eventful year for you guys. Hopefully the only obstacles ahead are Heavy Snow Fall Warnings!
  21. "Come on Dad why do I have to wear this T shirt in the picture?" LOL
  22. I would like to wish all my QuebecRider friends a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year. May 2024 bring good health, prosperity, and freshly groomed trails. Steven
  23. Last year or year before I thought was 121K permits for the year.
  24. Talking to Groomer, he said things are bad in his area of the Gaspesie......"kaputt". That doesn't sound good. However all things considered, I have snowmobiled in the Gaspesie every year except for one (Covid) in the past 25 years and had awesome conditions. Winter will come.
