The one and only reason they use pop rivet's is cost . A few cent's per rivet as opposed to several dollar's. As for keeping the bolts in use heavy grade lock tight , or the old fashioned way , tying wire , or even better both methods...

They are a brilliant bit of kit we used them all the time when I was working.

Thanks Don, yer were in San Simon at moment and are driving to Carmel today sadly route 1 is closed 6mile north of us due to land slide so we've got to use the 101. But we plan to drive down from carmel to big sur tomorrow. And as for yosemite Wow !!!!! spectacular ( even though there fighting 13 fires at the moment ) and some of the park has a smoke haze ,

Ok it's spring and I was bored so I was looking on amazon uk at ski-doo stuff and found this , 1gallon of 2 stroke oil (all be it a imperial gallon and not a US gallon ) for £155.82 plus £4.48 p&p . Or a whopping $199.91 plus $5.75. p&p
