  1. This will not keep you out of Canada as long as you show up at all court hearings or pay the ticket.
  2. More info would help. Were you off trail next to the trail? Or did you go down a public road? I am not sure you explained exactly what you were doing or where you were that they claim you shouldn't have been.
  3. Is this how Dick Chaney waterboarded the captives at Quantonamo?
  4. Pay it. Is it your driver's license or right to operate a snowmobile being suspended if you don't show up in court or pay it? If it is your driver's license, most states have a reciprical agreement: suspended in one state, suspended in all states. And if you don't show up in court, they may issue an arrest warrant for you. Most likely the warrant would only be applicable in NH. BUT, good luck getting into Canada with an arrest warrant hanging over your head. NH will either get your money or make your life miserable. mike
  5. Maybe about 3,000 miles riding in Maine. Had Maine not had such a very short season this year, I might have come fairly close to the usual 6,500 I do in Quebec. Blueblood, you must have been in Maine for quite a few weeks. Did you mostly stay at NEOC and how was it? I ate there one night and let me say I was very impressed with the restaurant. mike
  6. Sled is in storage but maybe around 3,000 plus for miles. I did a lot of 3 to 6 night trips instead of the two week trips I usually do to RDL each month. I actually really enjoyed riding Maine, A lot less driving to the destination and lots of really good lunch stops. More sled traffic and less consistent smooth trails were the downside. But if I get stuck in Maine next winter I will still be happy. I really enjoyed renting the Polaris Matryx VR1 a couple times. And the hotel owner let us QuebecRiders use the old/closed bar/breakfast room for late afternoon QR happy hours. I may go back to Millinocket this summer with the kayak and fly rod and check out the new Katahdin Woods and Waters National Monument. So overall, I had a pretty good winter. mike
  7. Nice season ender. Still looks 'wintry'. Back in the '60's and 70's when slide rail suspensions were becoming popular, sticking the track to the sliders was fairly common. Big screw driver was a must have tool.
  8. Best wishes to Bill. Hope for a speedy recovery.
  9. I spend six to seven weeks each winter at the RDL Universel Hotel. The hotel is awesome as a place to base out of, having two restaurants, a cozy small bar, a huge Spa, pool, saunas, hot tubs, heated sled garages, you name it. They also offer several different levels of rooms depending on your needed level of luxury. RDL also offers all types of restaurants, some within a couple blocks and many in their old downtown section of the city, a mile away, and the latter a romantic evening walking through the old downtown on a snowy evening. Caught up in a blizzard while in RDL, visit the Polaris and Skidoo dealers, both are large and impressive. Two blocks away is a small indoor mall which I hear is known for exceptionally fine high end women's clothing. But in the end, go for the RDL snowmobile experience. The trails are just plain awesomely groomed and beautiful scenery. . Great food stops along the way. And the club houses! There is a club house about every twenty five miles leaving RDL that truly offers the flavor of the area. mike
  10. Great Pictures and thanks for posting! Years ago we registered in N.H. to extend our Maine riding. N.H. was always a nice safe place to ride with great trails. mile
  11. Thanks Dave. We have all had fun. Always a good time when you are up here. I too have really enjoyed coming to Millinocket. Great pic of the family! mike
  12. Mark, As I recall the rentals are $250 a day or $165 for half a day. Today's trails were 210 miles of magic carpet ride. Never went above freezing, but looks like the warm up is coming. Saw a burned sled on the trail, wasn't there yesterday. mike
  13. This morning we were out the gate at 0630 and at Shin Pond at 0745. Coffee and jumped on the rental Polaris's. The fun factor of these sleds and their amazing handling made for an enjoyable day. Went up around Libby's Camps, across to Unclocus Camps and back to Shin Pond at noon for lunch with 110 miles on the rentals. Trails were fantastic. Riding back to the hotel hit a few small stretches of chop over by Abol Dam. Great sunny day with below zero start and mid thirties finish. One hundred and ten years of snowmobiling between gkw and myself. Then happy hour talking about all the great sleds of the 60's and 70's, for those that know back then what a Red Baron or Honker meant.
  14. Back in the saddle at the Baxter Park Inn in Millinocket. A few other QuebecRiders also here. We got a hundred mile ride in this afternoon. Some trails slightly choppy but nothing that slowed us down, other trails near perfect. Tomorrow's agenda is Shin Pond Village to rent a couple Matryx R1 sleds. mike
  15. NHTOM, Thanks for posting this. I heard he is getting a lot of riding in this winter and having a good time. Wish he would come back to QR. mike
  16. Thanks Yeti and Eastmark for posting the great pictures. I have found some great riding in Maine this season. If we are shut out of Quebec again next season, I now know I will survive. And loving that quick 3 hour drive. mike
  17. Hi Blueblood. Winds were crazy all over the state yesterday. Sounds like you have taken up residency in Maine! I am at about the same mileage as you. May be back next week, watching the weather. We found that when heading north towards Shin Pond, if 85/86 is rough, we detour onto 112 to 83 to bypass that section, the latter almost always great. That's probably the only tip I have, as I imagine by now you have seen every inch of the area and then some. If you are looking for something different to do, Shin Pond Camps rents out Polaris Maryx 650 sleds for a day or half day. These sleds are so much fun to drive. I rented one in Jackman, made me feel young again. lol I never found any restaurants in Millinocket downtown area worth mentioning. mike
  18. That is a great looking bar!
  19. Nice run Dave. Making me wish I stayed longer.
  20. Hi Mark, Yesterday stopped at Mattagammon on your advice. Really cool place. Today was second day in high 30*'s. Went up to Abol dam and it got rough going towards Kokadjo so we looped around to Wildwood Cabins. All smooth going rest of the day. I had forgotten what 25 miles of moguls were like. Not pretty. 4 inches are forecast for tonight. Home for Friday. Tomorrow playing in the far north, via Shin Pond, maybe lunch at Uncolcos Camps. We've been mentioning QuebecRider enough to the owner of Baxter Park Inn that it should be a household name. Would it be good to have a Maine business an advertiser on QR? mike
  21. Today Skidoo 420, Jak, and GKW and I went to Libby's Camps for lunch. 3 to 4 inches of new snow coated the trees adding to a winter comeback. A couple pics of the trail and Mattagammon Wilderness Store and Restaurant. We are blown away with trail conditions here. The Baxter Inn owner has been so good to us. He has provided our own happy hour room .
  22. The lodge is just a restaurant. Would not be much to do there. Shin Pond cabins might be good, big field by the cabins, and lake is just down the hill. Is he trail riding. If not I really like Bald Mtn Camps in Rangley, big lake outside the cabins. Restaurant and bar.
  23. Thank you Alain. Always so beautiful when the trees are coated with snow.
  24. Jak and Skidoo 420 joined me today for a romp down to Wildwood Cabins and lodge. I was embarrassed showing them the area on a Monday after the somewhat heavy weekend traffic. Pretty much every inch of the way was freshly groomed to perfection. It was the perfect day and Quebec like trails. The husband and wife team at Baxter Park Inn are turning out to be the perfect hosts. The food at Wildwood was great and portions were huge. Couple pics of the lodge at Wildwood. I thought this winter would be a disaster, turns out it has been awesome! mike
  25. Eastmark, no ride before hitting the road this morning?
