  1. Thanks Ray. Steve, have you seen the size of Quebec ducks?
  2. Yes, don't bring a new ATM card without trying it in the states first. My bank never activated mine. Machine swallowed it and kept it up in no man's land, Quebec. Moral, make sure you are travelling with a very good friend. mike
  3. Met with Farmerold. Rode with Brandan and MarkNY. Went out on ice trail onto St. Lawrence to an island and saw a historic light house (near RDL)
  4. Few pics from past few days out of RDL.
  5. I'm still at RDL. Seeing tons of people each day head out towards the Gaspe. Could be very busy out there. Truck coral is packed. mike
  6. Finally went east from RDL today. Two to several inches of new snow overnight in areas. Trails were perfect everywhere, went to Rimouski and around to Squatec and back to RDL. 215 miles. Brandan and Mark NY joined me. Lots of sun and cold wave moved in during the afternoon. mike
  7. ATM in Canada at a bank. Not sure about the ATM in hotels. My card won't work in the hotel ATMs/ mike
  8. Past three days have only ridden south of RDL and west. Conditions mint. Great to see Farmerold here, just returning from the Gaspe. Lots of sledders stopping for the night on tours. Frigid/cold temps. mike
  9. Dave, don't have my schedule with me, but I think I come back up Feb. 19th and stay for eight or so nights. I think we will just miss each other by a day or so. mike
  10. Brutal cold, just under a 100 miles. Half day of riding and went to the spa for a massage. There is a positive of having no schedule, no destination. Happy hour started early! mike
  11. Rick, you get home okay thru the storm, or did you stop at NY Great to meet you. mike.
  12. Great story and pictures. I think you like looking at water: rivers, as much as I do. They are beautiful and I always think there must be big trout in those rivers. Thank you for sharing. mike
  13. Sounds like a great trip. Gotta love the duct tape pic and story. mike
  14. Thanks Tom. Only have a 6 day weekend on the gathering date. I'll just have time for a two day sled ride to the gathering, stay two nights and two days to get back to my truck. This is all dependent on weather, as due to my work schedule I can't get stranded due to storms etc. So it will be a last minute decision to go or not. Hopefully another time, would enjoy heading out with you. Mike Just saw Viper2 in the restaurant. And yes Rick, free drinks at the bar all night sounds great. Forgot to ask if you are driving home tomorrow, headed into the big storm? mike
  15. Returned to RDL this afternoon (Sunday 2/1/15) and got in a quick 60 mile ride. Conditions are sweet! Looks like the area picked up a few more inches of snow since last week, which looks pretty meager considering I've shoveled close to 3 feet of snow the past few days at the Maine coast. Here until next Monday. mike
  16. Approaching 7,000 miles on my ACE 900. Rarely get under 20 mpg US. Top speed in good going around 90 plus, have seen 98 a couple times. I have the short track TNT, but after driving the Renegade, like the Rene a lot better. Just oil change and ride. Original belt, haven't had a clutch rebuild yet. After owning this sled, I doubt I would ever switch over to anything else. Don't even hear the engine while cruising along. Now when I jump on a two stroke they seem loud and too much vibration. Best sled in 50 years of riding. I'm sure Dave can add a lot about his experiences. mike
  17. Andy, I should be at RDL starting Sunday. If you stay there overnight, look me up. mike
  18. Nice Rick, I had never seen pics of Escourt Station. I remember when we used to cross into Maine at St. Pamphile, lumber road and one man border crossing. That'll never open again. mike
  19. Never took one pic! Here on the coast of Maine we got slammed with about two feet of snow. Winds blowing like Quebec winds, drifting. Hopefully back north this Sunday. mike
  20. I just paid my 12 night RDL stay yesterday when I checked out. Had I stayed a couple more weeks I think the stay would have been free. I just hope this rate isn't hurting our Canadian neighbors. mike
  21. One with a sled in NY and NJ tonight could probably make a bundle. lol mike
  22. Driving home today, St. George area may not be sleddable, ice and darn little snow. mike
  23. Nice Andy. Seems you always find an added adventure. Is the ACE doing its job now that conditions are firmer and you're not breaking trails. mike
