  1. Rode Sat morn from groomer shack below the ski area. Went on Bras Louis trail, good cond in AM. Took trsail to Onachaway, fresh groomed, logging last 5 miles, so be carful, have to ride roads for a while. Back to Bras trail to 93. 93 to Chappel, pretty beat by noon, alot of traffic, and not much base yet. did the loops off 93, much better. Back on 93, very bad by days end. 160 miles for the day. Sunday, back to the groomer shack. Fresh groomed. Went up 93, met the groomer about 15 miles out,BROKEN DOWN. the next 15 miles to the Chapple was terrible. Went to do the other loops, alot of traffic, all parked at Relais 31, and upper parking area. Went on to Escomins trail, not groomed yet, but it looked flat so we gave it a try. Figured we could go 40 miles and turn around if we ran out of snow. At 40 miles it turned into mid winter, the groomer had come north and the trail was perfect to the Escomins club house. Lunch and gas, back to the Mt. When we got back to 93 I had never seen it so bad. Stopped Relais 31 for a beer and headed back to the truck. Looked like they got the groomer up to Relais , they trail back was much better. 220 miles for the day. Got bach to HI and they had groomed some off the valley, but it looked pretty boney, still not enough snow down low. A good weekend to try out the new GSX 1200. went great, even in early conditions. Merry Xmas Steve
  2. Thanks Bill, just got pass in mail. Fast, Steve
  3. What a terrible lose to US sledders, it was like having an uncle in Canada. It wont ever be the same.
  4. That place saved my fingertips one very cold day.
  5. We had a guy with us who had a pending DUI and he was not allowed to cross. He had not been to court yet and they would not let him in. Luckily we had another truck at a friends not far from the border so all turned out well, but it can ruin a trip if you are not prepared. We had a guy who went with us years ago that had a DUI. we always told him to make sure his wife was ok to pick him up because we were not turning back. He always got thru with no problems.
  6. Any update on when trail passes will be available?
  7. Glad to hear you will be at NE Drag show on the 10th. See you there.
  8. Hi Groomer, We rode through your area on Wednesday, and they were probably the best trails we rode on the whole trip. Keep up the good work, we do appreciate your hard work. Steve
  9. Im sorry you have to give me the #1 sign because I have cold hands and wear mittins. I always try to ride like there is a sled coming the opposite direction.
  10. Did 740 miles in 3 days, Best early conditions I have seen in 5 years.
  11. Try smartrecparts.com they have the part you need # 621200 6.95$. Very good people to deal with. Steve
  12. Just got back from 3 days at Safari. I have to say most reports have been rather negitive. We rode 740 miles in 3 days and I have to say the I have never seen the trails better. Mid winter conditions. The river is all marked to Richards and as smooth as can be. Not marked to Maniwin, too many ice chunks. Pipeline to Latuque is 10/10 no washouts. 73 south to St raymond is a rocket ride. 3 and 23 very good, a little icy around Rogers, but they get alot of traffic. 360 to St Zenon has alot of snow and well groomed. 318 on the west of river is perfect. 318 on the east is now groomed all the way 353. We have going to Safari for a long time, and this ia as good early season riding as I have ever seen. Maybe Bernard is looking out for us. Steve
  13. Has anyone done this ride yet this year?

  15. We rode those same power lines last year, and I think they wont take a groomer thru it, to rocky and rough. They my not have another route. We are going to Motel Safari tommorrow for 3 days, will report when we get back.

  19. Hey Bernard, are you sure it was not Monopoly money you were trying to pay with? Maybe thats why I see your picture at the border saying do not let this guy into Vermont. See you soon, Steve
  20. If your going to sled hard Hotel Safari is good. Not many extras, but you get Bernard, and some real nice people. Best security in Quebec. Holiday Inn in Jonquire is also a great place to do day trips from.
