  1. In new rich we have always stayed at hotel Francis also. We used to stay at the grand pre in bonaventure, but haven t for several years, it used to be nice. We are booked in there tomorrow night, I'll let you know how it seems now. Jeff
  2. I haven't posted like this before, but reading Jacks post helped us as we were planning. This being such an odd weather year, current conditions may help someone else. Don't expect Jack and Sandi quality reports, remember this is Jeff and Sandy. Some of this info hasn't changed from other reports but this is what we saw today. We left Bernieres on the 75 to the 5 to the 547 and then onto the 35,(the poog). Until we hit the 35, trails were a bit bumpy in spots with some snirt showing in places, but they were all passable. After trailering about 900 miles we were just happy to be on some snow. The rivers that are normally frozen were. We gassed up and had some soup in Notre-Dame-Du-Rosaire. The 35 improved steadily all along in until where we left it at the 526 jct. By the way there is now a new bridge on the 35. It is in that short section that they didn't groom last year, so now there is no disruption in the grooming. The 526,5,and 85 were all groomed and good today, this area seems to have more snow. Today the temps were around 26 to 36f,but we saw no rain. The local RDL trails all seem good. Tomorrow I will post on the bas- saint-laurent site.
  3. MR We rode from bernieres to RDL today, a few flurries and no rain
  4. I'm gonna try this again. Nice report Jack. Glad to hear that conditions are improving. We have a trip planned to begin at Bernieres in about a week. We were getting a little worried. Hope you and Sandy have a nice trip and hopefully our paths will cross again this year. Be safe, Jeff and Sandy, (northbound)
  5. Happy Birthday Bill! We have the "tax pain" as well.
  6. We went through there 2 days ago from west to east, no problems. The cutoff is a few miles past the cable bridge. I think there was a sign saying LAlverne but it sort of looked like a VTT sign. The trail came out at the clubhouse on the east end. Hope this helps, have fun.
  7. My wifes 09 E-Tech dropped a cylinder at 1200 miles in its first year. BRP put a new motor in for us which now has about 9000 miles on it troublefree. When we had our problem we heard about some "updates" that they did to her computer. I believe that their update richened the mixture. New, I think it was mixing at close to 100/1 and now I think it is closer to 70 or 80 to 1. That is still better oil consumption than my SDI which mixes at about 40 or 50 to1. Of course my SDI has gone over 15000 miles with no problems so far. Bills got me thinking about an Ace. By the way HI BILL, sorry we missed you. Our usual Gaspe trip and then up around the lake was scheduled for the time when the Gaspe had their little melt-down. So we regrouped and did a northern Ontario/ northern Quebec trip. I'm glad to hear you had a safe season and we hope to see you and JD ( and Groomer if you're listening) next year. Jeff and Sandy
  8. Hi Groomer, We're back home now from a very nice trip of about 2000 miles. I said I would try to sent you a pic of you at work. Hope it works .... Jeff & Sandy
  9. Hi Groomer, We are looping the Gaspe this week and got caught by a little snow in chandler and had to backtrack. We headed back to New Rich. We were going to go thru LaCache today but were advised against it. So instead we headed back thru Amqui to catch the ferry. We are headed up to Bills paradise for a few days. When we crossed the cable bridge into your area today the trails magically got smooth. We saw you and wanted to say Hi, You were in the deep snow and looked very busy. We got YOUR picture. If I can learn how I`ll post it when I get home. It will be the picture of your machine with you in it. We stopped at your clubhouse for a bite. We enjoyed your trails --Thanks Jeff and Sandy from Ohio
  10. Hi Groomer, Sandy and I are also going to be coming through your area on the 23rd. We will be heading southbound out of Amqui. We'll be watching for the 5 from PA coming head-on. Hopefully we will see you on the trail again, like last year. If not, thanks for all you do. Whenever I check this site the two people I always look for are Bills posts and your posts and pictures. Hope to see you next week. Jeff and Sandy
  11. Happy belated birthday to you Bill. Hope to see you and yours next year. Jeff & Sandy
  12. Happy belated birthday and again thanks for all you do. We will be looking for your summer pics. Jeff & Sandy
  13. Sorry to hear about the accident. We hope things are getting better for you and your girlfriend. Best wishes for a full recovery and a better next season. Jeff & Sandy
  14. Thanks for the info. The new report is showing limited which means groomer is probably right in that they are just low on snow. Hopefully that will improve............revct1, I think we may have met you several years ago in Latuque. We are Jeff & Sandy from Ohio. We remember meeting a couple from Ct. who came up on weekends and kept their sleds in Valcourt. Was that you? If it was, Hi again. We usually start around Q city, loop the Gaspe, ferry across @ Matane, and then loop Lac St J.......................Groomer, someday I hope we will meet you. We have always really enjoyed looking at your pictures, summer and winter. We have been looping the Gaspe since 2000. We have seen your work, but we have never seen you on the trail. When we pass through you may be posting or shaving? Seriously, we usually overnight in Amqi so we pass your cluhouse in the morning when it is closed. It is so nice to see someone who takes such pride in his work..................THANK YOU Jeff & Sandy
  15. Does anyone have any info about the TQ3 between Forestville and Baie Comeau. I didnt know if they were just low on snow or if they have bridge issues. I thought that i heard somewhere that they had eliminated the escort truck over the river and had built a new bridge. We were planning on passing through there in a couple of weeks. Thanks ahead of time for any info anyone may have.
