  1. Hi Prox1138, good meeting you also, got home and headed up to Newport for a 2 day rigging job. Yes Lionel is a really good guy and trying very hard to earn a good reputation at la Glaciere, see you next winter unless we may do some work together before that, I gave your card to my friend/boss and he aprreciated it, never know when us crane guys might be able to benefit each other. Mark
  2. markusvt, rode some of those same trails last weekend also, stayed at la glaciere where I met a friend of yours, Todd, the tree guy. Too bad about the trails being perfect then junk, it was definitely not a happy time around St Michelle , St Zenon (on the trails I mean) had a blast with my friend Lionel at La Glaciere sending the seaon out in style. How many days until winter ? Mark
  3. Yes , I saw that JG, as a groomer driver and our club's mechanic, I just want everyone to remember the groomer may be on the trail at any time. Thanks for posting .Mark
  4. Your owner's manual should have section on proper storage, with that said, with today's ethanol gas you are better off draining the fuel from the tank and using it in your lawnmower, also, starting it and not running it long enough to get it hot can do more harm than good because it doesn't get rid of moisture. I like my e tec becuase it has a automatic summerization procedure. From your screen name it looks like you ride a DOO, go to Dootalk.com, create a post (or search others) and ask your question there, a lot of knowledge on that web site. Mark
  5. No Linda not Michigan, Warren County (Lake George) NY, that's why I don't get west, a long drive, only a 4 hour drive to St Zenon, headed there in the morning for a few days.
  6. The Lanaudiere web site trail condition section has an interesting notation in the Parent, Cova, res. Gouin section. It says trail conditions excellent and "our trails are not closed we will continue indefinitely" That's incouraging. Mark
  7. Linda, love the wine storage. I also have those Ice scratchers and they saved my on 20 miles of glare ice road in RDL a couple of weeks ago, I have the same sled you have and they do seem to run a little hot. Something for you to check is where the scratchers hook over your rail, they were wearing a groove in my rails, I slid some rubber tubing over the scratchers to try to stop the wear.
  8. No just for a little while, end of season. Maybe had it planned before this snow, seems like he could have gotten another week or so.
  9. Nice report as always, I'm headed for la Glaciere tomorrow for a few days, a foot of new snow and the groomers still running. FYI, Lionel says the auberge will be closed after this weekend
  10. I like mine on my 2013 Renegade X, as the conditions change I can change settings in seconds with no tools. Mark
  11. Headed up Wednesday or Thursday for few days, thanks for the info. Mark
  12. That's impressive to have a lot of cnc machines. You want to see a lot, Stewart-Hass Racing (Tony Stewart, Ryan Newman and Danica Patrict's shop) NASCAR, of course the part owner Gene Haas makes the machines. Good info from you Bill, we used to have a regular grinder with a diamond wheel set up in the trailer when I was helping a buddy in his racing and we would grind the carbides after every run. Sounds like an inexpensive tool for those of us that put on miles.
  13. It looks like they will get some good snow, does anyone know the owner of Cabanon (who from what I have read seems to be in charge of the local club) that can get the straight information as to whether or not they will send the groomers out. I really want to get another ride in and that area is only 4 hours drive for me. I guess that even if the groomers don't go out, if I get there Thursday and have to break trail it should be a blast since according to the FCMQ map many of the trails were groomed on the 16th the base should be flat, maybe over the weekend they will get bumped up Thanks for any help, Mark
  14. Lionel at la Glaciere says reports from riders are good, they got 2 inches of snow Tuesday and he believes groomers will be out Friday night and Sunday night. Mark
  15. I used the duraflex for the first time last week, on a 15 mile stretch of glare ice road where we found ourselves, 800 etec and 600 etec, never even hinted at getting hot and kicked up a lot of lube, after that I swear by them. Mark
  16. MrGutz, I just returned home from RDL, south shore of Gaspe is pretty much shot, (Info from riders returning to RDL from there) Also the RDL area from Universal until about 8 miles inland (Les Aventuriers clubhouse) is done, other than that, once inland and up in elevation it's really good. Just FYI for you as you mentioned a Gaspe loop.
  17. Just back to Hotel Universal in RDL, 180 awesome miles today, let me correct that 166 awesome miles, the first seven miles from hotel is crap, once on the 85, again today fresh grooming totally awesome, you just need to get inland 10 miles and ALL is good. The people at the Club Motoneige Les Aventuriers are going to let me park my truck and trailer there to ride the next 2 days (that is where things get good) so we will just take a short drive in truck from hotel and all smiles
  18. Rode out of RDL today, first 7 miles from universal is complete garbage, dirt, mud, slush etc... we kept going and oh boy, once inland and up in elevation the riding was awesome. Went down to Pohenegamook over to Cabano and the general area, as warm as it was I was surprised, we rode a bunch of freshly groomed stuff and passed one groomer
  19. Just arrived at the Universal in RDL, 34 dgrees and windy, looks like Tuesday will be right at freezing, snow is very soft, heading inland in the morning and hoping to find some decent riding
  20. For what it's worth, I just arrived at the Universal in RDL, met 2 guys in the parking lot that just got trucked back from Mt St Pierre, said so much snow followed by rain some trails were blocked by slides and others just a goat path. Warm here in RDL, we will see how thw trails are tomorrow
  21. Thank you, looks like we should have a pretty decent week, better than staying home wondering if we SHOULD have gone. Mark
  22. revct1 (Jack) looking forward to your report of your ride today, My buddy and I decided we are going no matter what, booked into Universal through Saturday, we are leaving northern NY in the morning. Might just do loops out of the Universal or might do a 1 or 2 night saddlebag from there, price at Universal was reasonable enough we will probably ride with clean underwear in our bags in case we decide to stay away a night or 2.
  23. Where are you staying in Montmagny ?
