I guess the fact that I have a reservation at the North Adventure Inn along with a whole bunch of people that I am now bunked in with at the Thriftlodge makes me wonder how these folks stay in business I am going to make the best of it...the snow looks good. Long day. 1000 km and then getting here only to find out I am not with my friends at north adventure is a big let down. Good news is the magazine guys are right beside my room. I will manage! Not just in Ontario, we had reservations secured with a credit card and they gave it away because we got there late. Luckily we got the last room at the only other room in town. In Quebec. lindasledgirl Posted April 7, 2013 Author Report Share Posted April 7, 2013 (edited) Great day today, we did about 300km, Weather was overcast and not very cold, -10C this morning but not sure what we ended up with this afternoon. Rode to Smooth Rock Falls, then did the Abitibi Canyon loop. Gas was 2.50 a litre at the Extreme tour shack and the hot dog was fabulous! They do a great job up there, not fancy, but nice guy. Came upon what looked like someone had been dragging a body across the trail...it was a beaver! Very deep and big snow slide under the trail. A partridge....doing his thing trying to impress. Met lots of happy sledders!! It was great to have so many hours of light and just perfect temps and conditions. They sure have done a great job up here! Did the A105Q but not the whole way...snow was deep and I was a little worried as to whether there would be fuel at the other end. Plus it started to snow again...so just did about 225 km today in the fresh powder! Just amazing!! Wish you were here...if you can do it....GET Up here! Well they said it was going to rain this afternoon....but I kept riding anyway...AND IT SNOWED! lol These are from today! April 8th, 2013...there is no sign of spring here...its full blown winter! Well it doesn't get dark till 8pm and the daytime temps are around 0C. Lucky Linda, signing out!
