  1. It’s a good thing I’m administrator, I’ll just take the money from the moderator budget, lol. And as a further show of appreciation, we will throw in a year supply of film for your camera, color, no less...
  2. Post your tips for getting around them here, I could use some. I ended up passing two in the trail, that's like Russian roulette and scares the hell out of you. Once in VT and once near Club Scott he wouldn't get out of the trail using my technique, chase them around the corner, shut off the sled and wait, repeat...I wonder if an air horn would work?
  3. FYI, C&T Powersports has just signed up to support QR for another two years. For those who aren't familiar with them, they are a local, small business that make tools and accessories for all Ski-Doo sleds. They only focus on Ski-Doo sleds, because that is what they ride and know. For those who like to maintain, tweak, and tinker with their own sleds, this is the business, anything from clutching, gearing, brakes, engine, steering and traction. Let's thank them for their support...
  4. I have the ice ripper 1.6” with about 3500 miles on it. Love the track but I noticed at least one outside lug has torn off.
  5. Not sure if we’ve ever had this yearly topic, so hopefully it’s short, but it should be informative. From various Facebook posts, it seems like two sleds were stolen from a trailer at auberge la cuillere a pot in St. Donat, some time overnight 12/29/2018.
  6. Good point, I just have my truck with no trailer so I can park anywhere. I would think you would find something along the way in La Baie, In St Felix the gas stop used to have a restaurant, but now it’s just a credit card pump last time I was there, so you could probably park there, others may know better...
  7. It’s going to be a zoo up there for sure. For at least one day, I would consider the black trail to La Baie or St. Felix to get you to the Claremont express, you know it’ll be great and quiet around there.
  8. That’s in the middle of nowhere, were u looking for Santa? Did u take the truck or ATV or reindeer?
  9. Mobile versions, iPad anyway, have a menu button in the upper right corner that gives u this...
  10. Maybe it’s time to start another guess when the groomer passes contest...
  11. How many times have you wondered if your heated shield was actually working? So many things can go wrong from the shield, to the 3 or more cables, to the connector on the sled, to the fuse. You can try swapping cables with your buddy but that can still take a long time to get up to temperature. This small, lightweight, inexpensive little device makes it easy to figure out where the problem is, and it also doubles as a small flashlight for looking at maps or inspecting the sled at night. This has been recommended by your fellow QR members in other posts, so if you have any questions, feedback, or experiences, please feel free to discuss them here...
  12. If the wife only snowmobiles because you like it, you might want to try http://chaletsetspa.com
  13. They haven’t updated the bracket yet, they did for the West. Maybe there are still some mail-in ballots...
  14. I’ve deleted it. Stuff like that should be sent by private message...
  15. while creating the card online, double sided was an option for about the same price as two separate cards, so i got the double sided, 1000 of them. I'll mail some to a few key distributors who can further pass them on to other QR members to hand out, just PM me...
  16. Also a useful resource if u r prepared but go off the trail, lol.
  17. Two cards is the way to go I guess, cheaper than a double sided. On the English card I’ll point to the forums, and the French to the advertisers. I’ll just need someone to give me the French text from the last example...
  18. Replaced the ad section with a sled pic, any other suggestions for a pic? Some have said french instead of english, thoughts? double-sided cards don't seem as available. $10 for 500 basic cards in the US, not sure if there is a Canadian vendor option.
  19. Let’s welcome QR’s newest advertiser, the Hotel Universel in Rivière du Loup. For anyone who wants to tour the Gaspe, this is the perfect starting point since it’s easily accessible by truck off of highway 20, with secure parking and all of the amenities of a large city and hotel. The city and hotel are easily accessible by many different snowmobile trails and all of the major sled dealers are nearby. The amenities are too long to list, but include secure parking, two restaurants, indoor pool and spa, WiFi, and great television. The hotel has over 200 rooms, but you should still make reservations, especially on weekends and holidays. On your visit to the Universel, don’t be surprised to run into fellow Quebecrider members, and feel free to chat about your trip in the forums.
  20. I haven't seen a new member popup, did he try to sign up? That is probably the best place to start while we work on updating the advertiser page. There's also a "Contact us" link at the bottom of the forum home page that should work.
  21. FYI for those interested...there have been almost 2,000 registered users since day 1. Over the last year there have been about 400 active members. During the peak season, there are up to 125 active members in a day, with 85 members active on a typical winter day.
  22. That works because u know what quebecrider is, someone seeing that on the counter wouldn’t know if it’s snowmobiles, atvs, or motorcycles. The ad was just an example if a business wants there own. The generic one could have the larger code like you’ve shown.
  23. I've tried putting together the various ideas. I'm not sure of the sizing for the qr code, maybe someone else knows. I've shown the saquenay club ad on the card but we don't have that finalized. Any other thoughts or comments? Once we finalize something, we can get a french version made up also, or maybe French on one side English on the other, but that sounds expensive. In the US we can get 500 standard cards for $10, unless someone knows of other deals...
  24. That stretch of 355 is always perfect, it’s the north stretch that always sucks...for me anyway. happy trails...
