  1. I too was wondering how far it was from the old bridge. Pictures sorta look like it's in the same general area. That video was unbelievable last spring. Bridge was there in the evening and GONE in the morning.
  2. Nice ride Snappy !! I'll be up in St Zenon (LeCabanon)Tuesday afternoon myself with a buddy. Got a brand new Blizzard 1200 and my buddy has an all black Polaris 800. I'll look for you to say hi with your fancy new Yamaha. Dont forget the long underwear whatever ya do....LOL
  3. FANTASTIC as usual Alain !!!!!! Have been eagerly awaiting your report. So glad you guys had a great ride and good to see the conditions were better up there than I thought. It still amazes me what they can do with even a low amount of snow. Look forward to riding the area Christmas week.
  4. Absolutely fantastic CKF i have messed around with drones for quite a few years now but hardly fly anymore. Have a bunch of little ones and a Blade Chroma that I use for the occasional aerial pic. A++++ on your video editing skills. I couldn't do that if someone put a gun to my head. what a beautiful place Vermont is
  5. Does anyone have any info on the bridge situation ? I saw the video of it washing away this spring, a real bummer..... I can't imagine them not replacing it.
  6. Thanks dooright , I completely missed that previous post sure hope the guys have good insurance and they catch the scumbags
  7. Saw this over on Dootalk about guys that were parked at some remote location outside the park. I hope their ride was awesome cause they surely were bummed out when they got back to the trucks. Is this : A Bullshit B disgruntled wife of someone C someone with a personal vendetta against one or more of the guys D environmentalist E just plain old vandalism I haven't made up my mind yet on which way to guess
  8. Make sure you take a sat phone and a sleeping bag :)
  9. Man that 1284.00 fine is worth like a nice 6 day saddlebag trip !! YIKES !!!!
  10. I have been staying in St Jean de Matha for 15 yrs now. Literally walking distance from Gero Skidoo. We stay at my buddies parents house there and still lock and block our trucks/trailers in if possible. Many years back his parents were away on summer vacation and had their truck parked in a back lot garage. Theives broke into the garage and wanted the truck but couldn't get through the HUGE dead bar and lock my friends father had on the overhead door. So guess what they did......they found a chainsaw in the garage and used it to cut the entire side wall out of the garage and yanked the truck out sideways. no shit.......this really happened.
  11. When you see 110 dogs running around wild you will know your in the right place. :)
  12. Last fall I bought a Carhart jacket off Amazon and was looking at the reviews before I purchased. Now I already knew it was a good jacket because I already have one that's about 12 yrs old and just wanted a new one. When I read this guys review I literally found myself laughing out loud days later thinking about it. Here is what he had to say: "I live in Buffalo. The winds sweep unadulterated from western Canada and plummet in leaden misery upon Buffalo. After a few months of bitter cold and dead skies, this is a place where hot-sauced wings and emasculated sports teams become the hollow substitute to your ineffective anti-depressants.This jacket is another entrance to a Narnia of an endless summer. I practically frolic within it. The heavy duck is rich in color and warmth. The cuffs are impenetrable to snow and wind. The hood... oh the hood. When pulled up over my head, I am shielded not only from the blowing snow and rain, but also the human misery that surrounds me.I cannot recommend this jacket enough. The description and sizing are dead on. It is ridiculously well-made. "
  13. Now that's some funny shit right there. Best chuckle I got all week !!!!!!
  14. The Fox is still there. Not sure it's the same one but there is one there every morning. We stayed there twice last week and have video of throwing breakfast sausages to him right off the front porch.
  15. Thanks for the info guys ! I booked at Comfort Inn. The orange trail takes you right behind the Canadian Tire and the hotel is only .5 KM down the street on the same side of rt 169 . Cross a side street, cut through St Hubert parking lot, Le Cage Sports and one more parking lot and your there. This wont even come close to the stupid/crazy shit we've done trying to get around towns before on a sled...LOL
  16. Was wanting to stay at the Comfort Inn in Alma next week one night. Receptionist says they don't get a lot of snowmobilers because of trail access. I show an orange local trail that wraps around to the back of Canadian Tire which is less than a KM away. She says they do get snowmobilers just not that often. I know the Universal is near and has trail access. Just like the ground floor outside access type of deal and the Universal does not have that. Can anyone chime in on the Comfort Inn access or recommend another nice ground floor/outside access type of Hotel in Alma with good trail access. TIA
  17. In the park south of Kitsisakik on 3/3/2016 Here.... where moments of time and space collide......arriving at this intersection AT THE EXACT SAME TIME to see Towing & KriKri pulling up was one of UNBELIEVABLE TIMING I have EVER had !!! Here at Grand Remous on 3/4/2016 ???? And here on 3/4/2016 ....back where we started 4 3/4 days ago.......SUCCESS !!!!!!!!
  18. Here at Amosphere celebrating the morning of my 50th with the Legend himself. That Yamaha is comfortable !! Easyrider (left) and Greg from NY (right) with Towing at the Amosphere 3/2/2016 Here enjoying a nice trailside fire by a little indian village 10 mi. north of Amos. After a splendid 250 mi. birthday run to Matagami, Greg and I tried their tubing hill....IT WAS AWESOME....then back to Amosphere for a nice steak/shrimp dinner. Lumber mill in Valdor on 3/3/2016
  19. This trip was one of the greatest ones I have ever had in 17 years of riding Quebec. The weather, trails and company was second to none !!!! So hard to believe we came home just a week ago and the weather has turned so much. We usually go to the Abitibi in the 2nd or 3rd week of March with no problems. This year as everyone knows has been very challenging. Myself, Easyrdier and a friend chose Mt Laurier as the start on Monday 2/29. Onward to Clova, Amos, Matagami and Leverendrye . These were THE chosen spots. 1125 mi. of pure premium Quebec !!! I cant stress how GREAT it was meeting "Towing & KriKri" at Balbuzard after years of reading reports and seeing pictures. Just as I figured......they are two of THE greatest people you will ever meet. Riding and hanging out with them was just "over the top" fabulous !!! It's not often you get to ride and hang out with true snowmobile legends !!!!!!! We spent Wednesday celebrating my 50th with a run up to Matagami and back for lunch from the Amosphere. (250 mi.) Last time we were on the 396 was 3 years ago. My sled blew up halfway and caused some serious trip issues. This was THE redemption run and it went perfect !!! Hats off to the Matagami Clubhouse for having firewood and fire starters all ready. God I love that shack !!! "Viva Quebec"....we WILL see you again next year !!! Here are some pics starting off in Laurier on monday 2/29 Here Easyrider pulls into an intersection near Parent Easyrider says "Hello Abitibi".... The burnt section IS coming back....albeit....slowly...
  20. We will be here until late morning as well It's supposed to start snowing n the a.m
  21. Andy, call me this evening at the Brunante in St Anne des months room 110 We are currently across the street eating 7:45 pm
  22. Waking up in Chandler this am Left RDL Sunday morning and rode to Point a la croix via Squatec, Amqui, etc. 275 miles Had decent trails but quite a bit of weekend traffic never saw a groomer. Stopped at Groomers clubhouse and had them try to call but couldn't get ahold of him. Rode to Chandler all along the south shore yesterday and it ranged from down right scary around towns and valleys to very good In the woods and up higher. Crazy warm and spotty rain did a significant amount of damage on parking lots and the sides of roads. Some low lying areas barely have an inch left on the trail. Never saw a groomer (or groomed trail) again yesterday. 200 miles for the day. Leaving this a.m. to go up to Murdochville for lunch and on to the north shore. They are calling for a little snow in some areas for Wednesday but Thursday looks to be another shitty warm day Hope we make it back to RDL Thursday afternoon without having to be trucked back
  23. ROTFLMAO Never that I was aware of. Used to be a guy and his wife who had a little B&B type thing they were trying to get started but that was short lived and quite awhile back if i remember. Dont think they had gas anyhow. Someone correct me as I could be wrong. Kanawata is only 20 something miles away I believe and they always have it. The trail between the two might be my favorite run in all of Quebec. Hey doonali, we both have a whopping 87 posts !!!!! Well I guess I'm at 88 now
  24. NO ONE does trail reports like you Alain !! You are THE BEST source of info for that area EVER !!! Your reporting, picture taking and comments are better than most professional journalists these days !! Once again, "my hats off to you" !!!!
