Here's one those places that you know if you know...
-
Woo hoo! Here we go again.
We get power restored after a week and now Mother Nature takes us from all-right to all-white?!
Our first real snow storm, 4" of heavy & wet so far, and I ain't got no sled with me!!!
Hopefully the remaining leaves won’t catch too much of the fluff and tear down whatever tree limbs are left from last week.
No worries, sled season soon.

Is that October Mtn?
GutZ
Pittsfield Forest, #1 is by Balance Rock, #2 at the top of Potter Mtn Rd.
"Rock"-tober trails have gotten pretty gnarly, so I don't take new riders there.
Not rocky enough. Too dry for Beartown. Looks more like Pittsfield.
Good eye!!

Photo of a Jersey Shore boardwalk pier from Lord Obama's chopper? The news was debating his storm response approval rating? How about some leadership and looseining up the oil reserves to keep gas prices normal and offset the closure of the refineries, and the extra use of generators, and the extra use of driving around like a mouse in a maze to get to work, and the extra use of WAITING ON LINE TO GET GAS?!...
OK, i feel better now... Deep cleansing breaths... In through the nose... Out through the mouth...

Mother Nature is awesome (not necessarily in good ways).
All good in Scarsdale NY (10 miles nord of NYC). Very fortunate compared to many others.
Blacked out @ home but Home Depot's last generator is purring like a kitten (there was almost a fist fight on line to pay for it on Saturday). We had enough/half utilities at the office for business as usual as of Wednesday.
The amount of trees and power lines down is unreal. It's gonna take a long time to restore (wishing all linemen and timbermen safety).
Bottom line: There's no substitute for proper storm preparedness!...
Is anyone interested in a "compact" car?...
-
It was pretty bare in the Bershires this weekend...
-
This is how the backyard looked before the storm...
-
Thanks! I got the last generator @ Home Depot in Pittsfiled Mass (there were none further south by NYC).
So at least I can keep the blender cranking!
This looks like it's gonna be a doosey. Finaly something the left & right can agree on!

Hey David,
I'm setting up my new XTX for the last 2 weeks & have a question. I'm going to upgrade my Garmin 360C & buy the new Garmin Montana. What is the specific model you recommend? What is the specific hardwire handlebar mount you're talking about? Did you find your additional gas packs yet? I'm going with 1.5 gals on each running board at the rear.
Pumped BIG TIME!!!
Best,
Tom
Holder: https://buy.garmin.com/shop/shop.do?pID=89575
Mount: http://www.rammount.com/EmptyPages/SubGPS/Mounts/tabid/2707/Default.aspx
Lucy got me the 650t, I don't know why the "t" is $70 more and my ADD won't allow me to research it.
Pierre's working out the spare can thing, and he thinks it'll fit on the back. I thought that the runing board mount would get in the way of the saddlebag clips? He's also doing the Ice-Ripper track. And of course the Simmons. I broke away from Don & Big Bill who are going red and I went black. Can't freakin wait!!

"Can be used as a floatation device?!"

Hi Guys ,
I'm getting the Garmin Montana 650t and from what
I'm reading the way to go is the GPS Quebec .Com software. Any information would be appreciated thanks guys.
Think Snow. !!!
Get the hardwire handlebar mount! It ROCKS!
-
Greg!! BRILLIANT!!
-
You're gonna frickin LOVE your Montana!! (Though I haven't used the camera feature)
I also use gpsquebec, and one year that i skipped an update the old trail saved us by giving an "alternate" go-around on a beat trail between Kanawata & Chataeuverte
-
Too freakin cool! And only $7,800 plus the waverunner!
-
Dang! So you could do all of Gaspe in like 2 days!!
-
Wow David!! Your nephew was very lucky on that one! Left turns are a b*tch eh??
No worries! He's an excellent swimmer!
-
It's great to see the sled advocates showing up and stating the case for patience and logic.
Just in case anyone thought that supporting the FCMQ & local clubs wasn't important.
-
Playhard is the Bonneville Salt flats the 73 Between La Tuque and Relais Marmite?
Oui!! Up the road a piece from Clem's.
-
How 'bout it?...
-
Given i just got the last two i believe these two would be the railbed between Chapais and Miquelon
Denied.
-
Ahhheee matey dat would be da Desmaraiseville fuel stop and le deuxieme dar be da Saw mill 'tween Chibougamau and La Dore.
True dat. This seems like a pretty outstanding sign, but this trail is one of those WFO (wide f-ing open) deals...
-
How about a couple of REALLY REALLY important places to not blow past?...
-
Where else do you get to see frogs riding turtles?...
-
Zero damage to the sled, but my nephew might have pee'd a little...
Where am I?

Maybe there's others like it, but I've only seen this one so far...
