  2. Thanks for the detailed report and pics. We will be making our first trip to the Gaspe on 2/28 and look really forward to it. We had planned this trip last year but cancelled at the last minute due to some big storms that rolled up the east coast. We are doing a Chib. loop starting next weekend and we did reserve every night in advance for this trip. 2 years ago we were almost left out in the cold 2 nights in a row due to no rooms available. For the Gaspe loop I think I will reserve just the first two nights.
  3. Thanks Groomer. This trail looks like it is open. The 373 from St-Felicien to Roberval looks like it is closed. It is in French but I believe there is a detour on local trail to get around it.
  4. Anyone been on this trail this season? This club shows trails are limited. We have our loop already planned and this is the only section that looks really questionable right now. I think Chibougamau to La Dore will be good until we get there. We do have a week until we leave but just curious if anyone has been on this section of 83.
  5. I am also interested in this trail not being open? I have a Chibougamau loop booked real soon and this could surely put an end to that. Have a good time on your Radisson adventure Bill!!
  6. When I look at this clubs trails it shows full open and good. When I click on the info tab it shows this section of trail is fair to bad and only partly open? Anyone been on this section of trail? http://www.sledmagazine.com/actions/showConditionsSentierFCMQ?lg=en I will not be on this trail for almost 2 weeks but am curious if it is open & groomed or not?
  7. Thanks for the update! It is looking good.
  8. As always great report Alain! I am really suprised to see that the trails look that good that far south. I will be heading up in a little over a week and it is sure looking good.
  9. SWEET! The last time I was there he was out with the Skandic and drag and he looked to be struggling. So if they have a tractor and drag do they get funding from FCMQ? Just curious because they should.
  10. According to this you can! http://www.sledmagazine.com/actions/showConditionsSentierFCMQ?lg=en
  11. I Pushed through to Fallion 1 time from Le cabanon. I think we got there around 6. I will reserve probably at the school house. I stayed there once. Nice place. Problem is I need to get to Clova. The next day we are making a run to Matagami. Gouin is to far. I will have to map that to see how far it is from Clova. And that Carol can she cook or what. I have had some good meals there.
  12. I dont know about parking out that way but fuel for that route you have some options. Fuel at Mnawan or Repos before heading south on 345 then Le cabanon.
  13. Does anybody Know?? Did Dominic open it back up? Choices are becoming very limited near Clova. I would push on and stay at Lac Fallion but now that is closed also.
  14. Here is the latest from The Weather Network. If this happens most areas north of Montreal should benefit from it. While the system has already begun to affect southwestern Ontario, it won't reach Quebec until Saturday afternoon and evening, beginning first as snow showers, intensifying overnight, with 10-15 cm of snow possible for the Montreal, Eastern Townships and Ottawa areas. Up to 25 cm is possible in the Saguenay-Lac-St.-Jean area, up to 30 cm in Quebec City. A potentially bigger problem will be freezing rain. Around 5-15 mm of freezing rain is possible, beginning early Sunday morning and lasting for a few hours before transitioning to rain. Freezing rain is more likely for Montreal and the Eastern Townships, while areas further east will receive lesser amounts. Accompanying this system will be strong gusts of up to 80 km/h in Montreal and areas south of the city. Snow returns again Sunday night into Monday, but much lower amounts of 2-5 cm, depending on location
  15. It looks that way. Click on the link and scroll down to events. Looks to be all 3 nights. http://translate.google.com/translate?hl=en&sl=fr&u=http://www.reservatech.net/StandardSearch.aspx&prev=search
  16. Happy New Year to all and may our trails be covered with fresh snow on Monday.
  17. I sticking with Accuweather at least for now. ST Zenon Saturday 9F & 5 inches Saturday evening. Sunday 25F and 5 inches and Monday a High of -2F.
  18. Will just have to wait! Everything I saw yesterday, showed snow for all the regions I checked. Today St Zenon & Shawingan are showing snow/rain highs above freezing. Saguenay all snow. That was enviroment Canada. Accuweather still showing snow for those regions. They still have 4 days to get it wrong.
  19. Phil is that that a 2015 Axy's? Not sure the seat dont look quite right from your pics. Looks maybe like a 2014. If it is an Axy's you already have an extre 5 litres. They come with a 12 gallon tank.
  20. Here is what we did when we had our Switchbacks. 5 litre can on the right running board and a gallon of oil on the left. The black sled is my wifes Adventure, my Pro R is in front. This pic shows the oil on the other side. Just 2 bungies to hold each jug in place and no drilling. I never did have to use the gas cans. I did come really close on the way to Chapais but we made it. This also help keep the weight a little lower.
  21. I have about 28 feet on each one. 14 feet in reverse and 14 feet in forward back on the trailer. LOL! Maybe 28 more feet Sunday. I might unload to do some minor work in the trailer.
  22. Looks like it will start to get cold again on Monday and maybe some snow Wed. & Thursday.

  24. I will be looking forward to your posts. I want to know if I made a mistake by staying home. I hope the weather is good and the trails are perfect for you.
  25. Thanks for the report and great pics. Things are looking up at least for now. I agree the weather does not look to good. I will cross my fingers for snow and no rain. We wanted to head somewhere Friday but the conditions and forcast are just not good enough at this point for us to make a 10.5 hour drive.
