  1. Its coming quick, generally this area has some trails open before new years. Last year trails were open (probably busy). Wife and I are both off at that time, no interest in traveling south as thats a zoo. If we cant ride I can relax away from home -have a few drinks and good food in a beautiful spot like Lac Tareau. That why we wanted a nicer spot just in case we cant ride or ride far.

Have a look at this place - nice chalets and activities.

Just an aside - you are aware that the auberge at lac taureau and the condos at lac taureau are booked on two separate web sites? Maybe a condo is available (if you didn't look there) They also have some mini home like buildings just off the main site, but right next to the trails and facilities.

Did a quick check - condos available for your time, but it's gonna cost ya.

Thank you Slomo! We booked 3 nights at the condo's which are linked to main resort- the cost was really good too.

  3. My wife and I were hoping to book a room at a nice resort between Christmas and new years-but I so dropped the ball and the two places near St Michel Des Saints are all booked. (Lac Taureau and Viuex Moulin) I generally know this area has some trails open at this time. Any recommendation for a nice place to stay with your wife at the Christmas break that may have trails open? We travel from Buckhorn Ontario- north east of Toronto.

    Thanks

  4. I bought my pass and copied the verification info for purchase from website and saved a copy. Normally I get an email receipt but have not yet and it has been a couple days. Same email address as before for years- anyone else not get email form FCMQ or Intact like before?

    Thanks

  5. I ran hard and fast on the cold hard Quebec trails with my 1.5 Ice Ripper 900 XRS and had no issues. Another guy I know did the same but lost lugs- the big difference is I ran the BRP tunnel ice scratchers whenever the trails were tight. I never had engine heat issues but noticed the track was often bare and clean. In the past I have learned heat from sliders will heat track rods and cause lug failures. 3500k

As for the sled, I am so confident in the 900T as a great motor and it performs well stock. The other thing is I cannot believe how cool the clutches stay!

  6. So I have read the Covid update and the FAQ on FCMQ website and all is not clear for me. What I think is if there are regions in Quebec that have a lockdown for Covid you will be restricted to only riding in your area. I'm thinking that if that happens then being from Ontario there will be no areas for me to ride. If I am completely off base please tune me up.

How do you like the Mission helmet?

So comfortable and warm. Bit of wind noise from air management system.  Helmet can loosen up from first try on, should fit snug, the dimensions to fit head size  by CKX were spot on for me.

  8. Great pictures, I never wanted to stop to take any-lol. Did realize later had lots of nice flat trails but nothing with great back ground like first post. One picture below is out of my truck window in Quebec and other was showing a new experience riding with the wife on same sled, neither thought we would like it but it is good.  Lots of my photo's look grey blueish because it always snows! I generally ride with friends and now my wife wants to go more  to Quebec which is great. Picked up a Mission helmet for the cold days, just not sure what higher windshield to get for my XRS.

I'm dealing with same problem now I am not getting any response from anyone by phone our email.  I'm legal I just dont want the hasel on the trail.

I doubt you will be hassled if permit paperwork matches sled id and sticker on sled. I was stopped a week ago, they didnt ask my name but checked paperwork and sticker.
