  1. I sure hope your right. That was simply a money grab last winter.
  2. Here are some of my favorite spots for each of your nights: 1. Amqui - Hotel Select 2. Mont Louis - l' Amarre 3. Perce - La Table a Roland 4. Carleton - Baie Bleue 5. Campbellton - I would stay in Pointe a la Croix at the Interprovincial then cross the river in the morning. ( Mundles Towing will shuttle you across) Hope some of these ideas help.
  3. That would be great, always good to have a guide.
  4. Nice pictures. Looks like good going, I suspect it is mostly differdnt areas then sledding. Are you running any trail system or all the forestry road network. 220 miles and in by 4.30pm you must have been smoking along or had good open roads all day. GF and I would really like to run that area next summer stopping at a couple of the outfitters. When is the best time to do that to you avoid their early bear hunts and spring fishing? Would early mid June be the right time?
  5. John Deere 650 groomer! That will make an awesome trail this winter.
  6. That is no good to us, they xxxx'ed out your credit card number! LOL
  7. Not sure what the Relais will be open this winter, right now it is only open Thursday thru Sunday. I have not stayed at the new motel but looks like a nice spot. Lots of sled tracks going in and out last winter.
  8. It is getting expensive but snowmobile has never been a money making sport. Living in Nova Scotia you can not depend on decent local sledding. I plan at least 3 trips a year in Quebec and pretty much guaranteed good snow conditions every time. That fact alone makes it worth the permit price for me. Luckily for me it is only a 4hr trailer to start in the Gaspesie.
  9. Is the Gespapegiag First Nation band at the end of Hwy 299 the group that owns LaCache?
  10. I think with more accommodations LaCache could be a good overnight destination. Hopefully they have extended hours in the bar/restaurant if they do this.
  11. Fuse6 and Iceman are pointing you on a nice loop. Another possible option on what they suggest is traveling North on the TQ73. Also an awesome trail to get you up toward the Lac St. Jean.
  12. That looks amazing, great pictures, thanks for sharing. Those seem like big mile days but it certianly would depend on the quality of road/trail you were riding. I am hoping to ride that side of the river next year. I bet Windigo is an awesome spot in the summer.
  13. Happy 4th of July to all QuebecRiders residing south of the 49th!
  14. Have never carried gas before last winter. No choice, we were running the stretch you mentioned between Chibugamau and La Dore with the sawmill closed. I bungy corded two 5L gas cans to the running boards, one on each side. I don't like hauling gas but if you want to do that trail you have to or have a buddy with a big can. I have always liked the Northern Loop, my sled buddies both said it was boring. That said, the 373 north of the river is a spectacular trail too.
  15. No issues really. You have to understand right from the start Quebec or at least the Gaspe have a 64" bike width limit. We scraped the fender flares a couple times. Some bridges are very tight and in places they have cement blocks at the width limit. As for riding, the trails are excellent, signage was good, I did have Trax Maps on my Garmin as well. Saw a lot of different country as the trails were different 2/3 of the trip. I would not hesitate coming if you are thinking about it. Quebec has a high quality product for ATV's same as they do snowmobiles. PM if you need more details Terry, I will help in any way I can.
  16. Did anyone notice on the sideways picture of Relais St Paulin that there is broken asphalt under the bike? The trail in the front of the Relais and a couple hundred meters down the 595 were once paved too!
  17. What do you after buying a new side by side?? Go for a ride in the Gaspesie of course. I have never ridden the ATV trails in the Gaspe before and figured it could be as good as snowmobiling. The Girlfriend and I decided to do a quick 4 day tour just to judge travel times and distances before planning a bigger trip. We started in Amqui and rode to Grande Nature the first night. We soon discovered it is easy to cover ground and travel speeds were faster then I expected. The second night we rode to Mont Louis and stayed at L'Marre, an excellent spot with and outside patio bar with a view of the St Lawrence. Third night back to Grande Nature, then back to the truck. Here are a few pictures of our adventure, many will look familiar. Likely only 1/3 of the trip was on sled trails, the rest all new country. Some of the pictures did not load right, but you get the jist of it. I don't think we would have been able to make the trip 2 weeks sooner, would have been too much snow. http://quebecrider.com/forums/uploads/monthly_2023_06/Resized_20230609_140626.jpeg.thumb.jpg.046bfa01bd03bb5c5dabc63a570f857c.jpg http://quebecrider.com/forums/uploads/monthly_2023_06/Resized_20230609_140306.jpeg.e7e16c35ccf7ade7345e309d90d57428.jpeg http://quebecrider.com/forums/uploads/monthly_2023_06/Resized_20230611_093202.thumb.jpeg.2cb4e868243eb6618b05d11291c65b48.jpeg http://quebecrider.com/forums/uploads/monthly_2023_06/Resized_20230611_120528.thumb.jpeg.e9163f9b5dee67ce37543b04787a9d8a.jpeg http://quebecrider.com/forums/uploads/monthly_2023_06/Resized_20230609_135715.thumb.jpeg.15cb6921441edcd2f85f93882fed03c5.jpeg http://quebecrider.com/forums/uploads/monthly_2023_06/20230609_130857.thumb.jpg.684416dd2cd69ccc1eec9f676b18758c.jpg http://quebecrider.com/forums/uploads/monthly_2023_06/20230609_103257.jpg.94dcf63ce3d4774281e7e3d1a9337ec2.jpg http://quebecrider.com/forums/uploads/monthly_2023_06/20230608_141311.thumb.jpg.91cbffe2403d08063224ebbd1b97b884.jpg
  18. True, something does not add up. A portion of the FCMQ permit is supposed to cover liability insurance, this should not land on club.
  19. Just did some quick math on the numbers Iceman shared on fire sizes. 93,518 hectares or 230,989 acres!! That is just the area for the fires that listed burn areas, most did not include area. Just read a CBC new article that says 460,000 ha / 1,136,200 acres so far this year have burned.
  20. Wow amazing pictures. Talked to a friend in Sept Iles Saturday, things were very smoky and tense there.
  21. Hoping they get rain soon, mother nature is the only way to slow these big fires down.
  22. Watching fires in Quebec closely. We are getting some help from Mother Nature here in Nova Scotia today, it has been a hellish week here. Over 200 structures in one fire and 50,000 acres in another. Hoping Quebec has some help with rain soon!
