  1. Hi Jack, I will keep riding out of my temporary home in Millinocket, Maine until Canada returns to full normalcy. Been very happy here, good trails and been a good snow season. I still miss RDL. Quite a few QueberRiders coming to Millinocket to start their Maine saddlebag trips. Say hi to Pat and Gary for me. Enjoying reading your posts! mike
  2. Jack, how's the restaurant situation at the Delta, still an outside company running it? Is Gary and his wife there? She still renting a Cat?
  3. Just awesome Alain and Kristine. In the video I really liked the picture of the shadow of the two of you as you rode down the trail. Really cool. mike
  4. Great pictures and a great read. Thank you taking the time to share the adventure with us. mike
  5. How about a contest who can guess closest to the estimate.
  6. Always enjoy following along on your adventures Jack. Your posts are great. mike
  7. Tell him thanks for the wine tips. I am really into Robert Mondavi Woodbridge Merlot lol. Heard Woodland Club is really nice, but I'm not a golfer.
  8. Does he deliver??? One high end Merlot please.
  9. Thanks for posting, Jack. You guys have fun. mike
  10. Bob, I've got the Choko jacket which is pretty warm. I used to be able to ride comfortably at 40 below. But since the SkiDoo XS and Gen 4 chassis's came out, I have been colder. The seats are higher and the windshields for those chassis's were redesigned in that the windshield no longer has the little lip at the top. Thanks Steven for the pic with the fire pit and you. (But a forester with a gas fire pit???). BlueBlood, The trails have been awesome, grooming has been awesome and traffic low. Did not meet one on coming sled today from Millinocket to Libby's. There was a few spots of gravel showing on the pole line between NEOC and Millinocket today (it was fine a couple days ago). So far one ride to Mattagammon, one to Libby's, and one to Rockwood. All great. We did loop around to Patten the other day and that area could use some more snow but was passable. I heard Aroostook County is good but low snow in some fields. The snow depth everywhere is thin, but other than patten it is fine. A gent hooked up with me today to ride. He brought up two brand new Polaris VR1 850's. The one he used today 30 miles into the ride had a detonation warning. At idle it sounded fine and ran fine the rest of the day. Went to pull the other one out of the trailer tonight and a big puddle of oil under the sled. Looks like it is coming from one of the exhaust valves. And I wanted to buy one of these sled so bad!!! mike
  11. I want to see a picture of you sitting at the fire pit outside. -25 F in northern Maine this morning. I was a wimp and sat out the day. Quite a few QuebecRiders been in and out of the hotel this week.
  12. Nice Steven. You Nova Scotia folks are one hearty bunch of people.
  13. Hi Joe. I miss riding with you buddy. And miss our great happy hours. Must admit, it is nice to eat lunch inside a warm restaurant. I'm pretty free all winter if you want to come this way. But I understand you going to Quebec. Gary is talking a week or two and coming up. He's golfing in Florida.
  14. I looked up Hewes Brook Lodge. That looks like one very nice place to stay. I had never heard of it. mike
  15. For those riding Maine this season, did my first full day ride today out of Millinocket. Conditions are excellent. Owner of Baxter Park Inn says thanks to all the QuebecRiders that have stayed here this season. He thinks we're a good crew.
  16. Correct me if I am wrong, but you get hurt out in the bush, the copter isn't going to fly out based on your phone call. I would guess an EMT has to make that call. So the EMT sleds out several hours to reach you, he okays it. Usually medics or police also need to find a landing place for the copter near the accident site, or haul you out on a sled to the nearest town, which could be hours away. I bet its is many, many hours before the copter delivers you to the type of hospital that can treat severe trauma. Again, I could be wrong. I bet 10 to 12 hours from the bush to a big city hospital.
  17. I do remember. That was probably when you realized you should've got a four stroke instead of that 600R hot rod.
  18. The picture of the Moise River; looks like what is called an 'ice disc'. Maine River has had one a couple years in a row. People come from all over to see it. mike
  19. Every club in Bas St. Laurent is reporting trails are open and being groomed. Jack and Sandi and JAK should have a great week.
  20. Really nice Alain. Glad you posted a picture of Trailblazer, haven't seen him for years. I need to get up there with my fly rod and catch some fish. mike
  21. Believe that is Moose Valley Lodge in New Brunswick. Only Quebec is shut down.
  22. I am envious. Can't believe how good the conditions are in this low snow year. Have fun. Hopefully when you get to New Brunswick they have inside dining. mike
