I think I seen the evidence when we came back from Chiboogie! I remember thinking to myself that someone had a good work out getting out of there! Pretty sure we passed you guys about 20 miles east of the saw mill!

    Where from?

We stayed at Drakkars and headed up the river (AWESOME!!) then up 355 then to La Touque for lunch. From there to Robervall.

Next day Chiboogie for the night. Back to Relais 22 for the night. Then back to the truck.

For the most part it was a GREAT ride. Trails were second to none. Only hickup was one in the group ended up in the trees on the way back to the truck Monday. A little sled damage but no injuries. So as far as I'm concerned it's all part of the adventure. Not really sure what happened. Seasoned rider who is probably more carefull then most. But like I said no one was hurt so I feel no harm no foul! Tonight is the first night I have had time to get back on QR. Thats why no reply earlier.

All in all we had a great year! Around 2200 to 2300 miles. Not the most for us but not the least either. I am already looking forward to next year!!!

  3. Were on one Black Gade 850 one white Gade 850 and a Polaris Adveture Black. We are starting with a group of seven on friday but some have to go back early so not sure what the exact plan is going to be, We may break up on Saturday morning.

Parking in Maniwaki Friday riding to Mekoos. We have been watching the weather and recent snow, riding should be ok. Lots of daylight and cool but not below 0 are the best part of March riding.

Looks like we may end up in Chiboogie some time Phil. Maybe we can cross paths! Either way have a safe ride guys!!

  5. I can't take it anymore. All you people talk about is how GREAT it is to be riding, I know I have already rode 1350 miles this year but IT'S NOT ENOUGH. And to top it off it's 75 degrees here in North Carolina. How can someone dream about riding their new snowmobile when its 75????? Then to top it off I have to come in to the office and read about what a great time everyone is having. I CAN'T TAKE IT ANYMORE. So........ with that said I guess I'm going to just have to go back in March to see just what the hype is all about.

HAPPY TRAILS EVERYONE AND MOST OF ALL BE SAFE!!!!  SEE YOU IN MARCH!!!!!!

  6. Reading about the four strokes not running brings back a memory for Dad and I. 2012 or 2013 we left Amos heading east. About 20 or so mile in to the ride i noticed my recoil handle coming out. Sure enough something was broken inside. I knew it wasn't an easy fix. We stopped at a couple different places to try to find tools to do such a project but no luck. Being it was a Sunday the day was shot for sure. (keep in mind every time we stopped i left it running.) No electric start on a 2006 800. We end up in Senetere for the night and going to take it to the dealer in the morning. The next morning it's close to -30F. There are two Yamahas and two ski doos in the lot with us. The Yamahas both wont start. I really felt bad for the guys. I REALLY felt bad when they watched me take my rope from the tool kit and put it around the clutch and start my sled on the first pull!!!  What made it even worse for them was the two Ski doo guys with them would not let up. It was deffinetly funny to listen! Like I said i did really feel bad for the guys. Nobody wants to buy a 12 - 15 thousand dollar machine and have problems. I hate to hear about it but unfortunately it happens.

Today we found out what the Bomb Cyclone was all about, we were heading to Moose valley for the night but we did not make that by a long shot. We ended up with 80 Miles for the day of some of the best powder riding we had experienced since the Gaspe 10 years ago. It was a fun, exhausting day of laughs, exercise and memories. We found in some areas 42” of new snow in the trails. Light fluffy snow that if you could see and keep the snow from plugging the air intakes you could go on a 137” , but the 154 was an added bonus and the snow bungies got worked a lot.  We had an absolutely great time playing in this Bomb Cyclone Snow Blast!

Heading west tomorrow so we can enjoy the frigid temps that are coming tonight, home Sunday night.

The last two pics, the sled is not stuck, and sitting in the middle of the 544 trail, just west of St Hubert!

    Think more snow😉CB8C1F5D-5668-40AF-B38E-297E8784CDEC.thumb.jpeg.85913cbcfa56a7ced17a3daaad3736d6.jpeg42D72313-69C0-4380-9231-06348D93A2D9.thumb.jpeg.df2cd6d69ac8c91e4bae1f9f90ce6537.jpegA2D79CC2-3023-468A-863F-C494383C49AE.thumb.jpeg.db59aecfbfb80d04b6ee9b6700ce7583.jpeg4892CB5E-4ED9-469D-9C7D-2C2DAF635196.thumb.jpeg.1a20227cefa2d158dc230538359e7863.jpeg0A83EFB6-CF1B-4FE7-9C9D-23405551A2A8.thumb.jpeg.2cf93fe1412d79a33bca3695256fac34.jpeg68323C14-863B-4EDC-8EC8-0F119DCA7B0D.thumb.jpeg.aa4cacc8ea9a6a39306567a7f36b3184.jpeg

That is why we always say we are not going for a RIDE we are going for an ADVENTURE!!

That's a sweet ride, as I age I was certainly thinking of it more with the power steering

and certainly some Yamaha models ride better than others, not sure if she will be part of Team Ice or not.

Where did you find the picture of my wife?????

  9. It is hard for me to spend the money on a diesel. I have a 2001 Chevy 2500 with a 6.-0 gas. 328,000 with at least 9000 pounds in tow for most of its life, sometimes 13,000 when i pull the race car trailer. I put a trans in at 275,000 and later found out it was only the torque converter that was bad. Dad has a 2003 with close to 300,00 and never a big part changed. We have been through two ford diesels and both let us down. Now I have a 2015 6.0 gas and can't be happier!

Now some people have good luck with diesels. But I sure don't. Either way good luck with your new one. I can't say it doesn't look good!

  10. In 1998 we had an ice storm come through northern NY in the middle of January. I remember it like it was yesterday. One of the more scary things I have been through. I was in my dad's house for the winter as he had gone to NC. I ran a generator for 31 days. Being only 23 years old it wasn't a big deal for me to maintane. But I spent a lot of time helping older folks through out the area to keep their generators going. Along with heaters, wood stoves, frozen pipes..... That seemed like a never ending task. I can not imagine what these people in the Virgin Islands have to be going through.

  11. If you want big mile rides go to the west. Temisqaming and North. There are more flat and straighter trails there. If you cross the border at the Thousand Islands then 4 hours up to Swisha (Rapids Des Joachimes) there is a great outfitter to stay and leave from. Very nice guy with good safe place to leave your truck. Dumoin Valley Guides. Name is Eithan. From there it's pretty nice! And like Iceman said it is an ADVENTURE! Ive been going there for a long time and don't think one single trip went exactly as planned!! But ALL of them were second to none!
