i find the screen not super bright in daylight hard to see. 
Did freeze on me a couple timesn powe. Evered in cradle just shut down

i want to bite the bullet and buy the Garmin Tread Overland or Tread XL (10”) not this year but maybe. 

Try using an heating element from one of BRPs tank bags and put in behind the GPS in it's cradle, it'll keep that battery from freezing up.

My 700i actually thought of freezing up today.  The screen went black and said something about working at temperature extremes, I pushed ok,  it turned back on and no further issues.  It was -19°C plus the wind chill. Other then that no issues.
