zeusand
Day 1 Well after seeing crazy temperatures like + 50 earlier in the week we almost cancelled the trip. We planned on leaving Friday morning from Connecticut and starting Saturday from Mattawin. After an encouraging message from Don, we decided to go for it! We left around 8:30 with a quick stop in La tuque at the Ski-Doo dealer we thought we saw Alan (Towing) around 11:30 then we headed to Lake Edward to lunch and then on to Chateau Roberval for the night 230 miles the trails were flat and fast much better than we expected. zeusand
Day 2 We had a nice dinner at the Château roberval and went to bed I woke up at 2 a.m. to use the bathroom in complete darkness so I called the receptionist and told them we have no power in our room and they said there's a huge power outage, about 800 homes and businesses in the area are without power we don't know when the power will be back on but will still be serving coffee and breakfast at 7:30 well at least we can eat the power never came back on until sometime after we left today's plan was to go to barrage gouin absolutely awesome trails not fresh groomed but hard flat and fast 200 miles. BTW nice meeting NEK and his wife last night. Tomorrow the plan is to go to Rabaska. To be continued...

zeusand
Sorry about the delay we are on the black trail back to Connecticut. Day 3 Barrage Gouin to Rabaska, here is a picture of the burned-out Forest it's amazing how some trees did not catch fire but on the bright side there's some small little saplings popping up Then we took the Lupine Trail towards Rabaska Now this is a nice Trail Edited March 16, 2016 by zeusand
zeusand
The only bad part of the trip we rode a muddy road for the last 5 miles before we got to Rabaska. Well the next night was supposed to be the Cabanon in St Zenon but we heard 33 and 63 were not good so we decided to go north again to Kanawata for the night. The next morning we did a quick 130 back to Mattawin. All in all it was a great trip and our last trip for the season had a great time conditions were really good there's a few more photos

Wasn't me, I was on the way to lunch at your drop spot Mattawin from home... Finally, glad you had went for it and not cancelled, seems you had a great time! It was especially mild on this last week, more than expected but fortunately it dropped down till last friday and getting more "normal" Loved your report and pics, the half man shot overshooting the snow on the side of the trail made me laugh! Thanks for sharing!
