  1. Wonderful report as always. We were in the area 3-12 thru 3-19 and the most snow was in the hills north of LaTuque and North of the sawmill on the 93 towards Chibougamau, but we encountered a large open water area on the trail that forced us to turn around before we could reach Chibougamau, and there was no going around it so instead of risking damage to a sled or us we had to back track and head towards Tadoussac.
  2. Heading to the "west" Wednesday please keep us posted on the warm up Issue ! We were planning to start from Temiscaming but might drive a bit farther north if needed.
  3. Back home safe and sound ! Bottom Line is all trails from Shawinigan to Gaspe and back were excellent! Probably the best run we made in that area. Funny reading my report with the typos but I didn't have my glasses on the trip......I fixed them now, so they should make a little more sense.
  4. Your welcome Tom. We arrived back at Safari a day early so we are going to ride around here ( Shawinigan ) tomm . Excellent trails the entire trip
  5. Do as Florida snowman posted, that's how we have done it a dozen times it's quick and easy. Cost is $32. Per sled
  6. Today was a short day just 200 miler from Trois Pistolles to Appalaches Lodge and again we didn't encounter a bump ! All trails from Chaudiere Appalachie , Baie St Laurent and the Gaspe have been smooth and fast. It's cold so that helps keep em smooth....
  7. Tuesday rode from Carleton to Chandler to Murdocville then settled in at Mont St Pierre for the night. Again all trails a 10 ! Today (Wednesday ) went from Mont St Pierre to Trois Pistolles
  8. Arrived in Carleton about 6:30 this evening, all trails were excellent especially near Albertville ! thanks groomer. sorry for thinking we would be in Chandler tonight I had my towns confused Heading to Mont st Pierre tomm
  9. Forgive my typos, hard to use my phone and type since I turned 21 !!
  10. First day Shawinigan to Lac Etchimen excellent trails and watched a snow cross in Saint Henry good racing. 2nd day we arrived in Trois Pistolles the long way..... Should have been an easy day but we took the green trails all were in excellent shape. Heading to Hotel Chandler tomm.
  11. We are at Trois Pistoles just east of you, we are the only 2 here great food too. Headed to Chandler tomm
  12. Interesting, Dominic used to groom it and he told me a couple weeks ago he was not going to do it anymore. Wonder who is ?
  13. Nice report thanks, I will be heading there from Shawinigan this Friday.
  14. Dominic owns the Tamarac now and it is open for rooms only, no food or drink there. I assume he uses it as a spill-over when the school house is full.
  15. A few years back the La Tuque SPCA gathered up close to 300 dogs in and around Weymotaci. It is a pathetic site seeing the dogs scavenging for anything.
  16. Iceman it was a real pleasure meeting you and NH Moose at Windigo, enjoyed the good stories We had perfect trails heading to Repos. Left Repo for Saint Anne Du Lac and all trails were also excellent, we were going to head up to the 83 from Cheval but I called the Senneterre club and she told me the bridge repair in the Foresythe area was Fri thru Sunday so we went south to Saint Anne instead. Friday we went to the place in La Vendrye park past La Domaine, I forget the name of ot and trails were "ok". Leaving there Saturday morning and heading back to Temiskaming the 63 was perfect again. 9 great days of riding other than the 93 east of the Relay and Scenerie 54.
  17. 83 to Senn then the 93. We were not able to make it all the way across the 93 to Lac St Jean. The trail still was not open from the Relay to Scerie 54 despite the Club telling me Thursday when we were driving up that it would be all open on Saturday so when we went through on Sunday it would be all good............Nope, after fighting through the fluff and branches sticking up about 30 miles from the lumber mill we decided to turn around and head back to Lebel Sur Quellvion since it was 3:30 and we did not know how bad it would be past the mill and it was snowing like a bastard.
  18. Yes Abitini is my favorite! Left Rouyn this morning about -30 f 830 am arrived in Chibougamsu at 8 pm 347 miles today. Snowed hard last 125 miles and probably 3.5 feet of snow on ground here. Trails were a perfect 10 :)
  19. Rode it today all good! Heading to Chib tomm .
  20. Talked to Balbuzard and he told me from them to Clova (east) is open and Balbuzzard to Seneterre (west) is open.
  21. Chibougamau club Site says Barriere Nord is closed for the season but also says the trail from Chib to The Barriere Relay is excellent. Barrier towards the 54 to open Jan 19th. I wonder if it is passable just not groomed? Also I assume the lumber mill at Scierie 54 is open and has gas, it doesn't say anything about that. Annoying part is the big trail picture shows it green the whole way across the top of 93. Chib to Scierie 54 is 174 KM's so no worries with gas.
  22. I just called the Nordic in Chib and she did not know if it was open. I checked the trail conditions for the club on Facebook and it is not up to date. So I still am not sure.......
  23. I assume you need cell coverage in Canada to use it ?
