  1. Might think about replacing the suspension wheels. It may help on track life. Motor mounts should be checked. Bearings should be replaced. Can't see inside them to check them. Clutch alinement is important. Track tension. Then get on and go. Never worry about it breaking because if you do it will.
  2. Thanks rode runner . I'm having lunch there this year for sure. Another adventure to look forward to.
  3. Where are these very lucky guys starting point.
  4. Roadrunner that is neat to hear. Frink's seen a alot of business people and truck drivers. Grindstone is a great place. In past years we all come over on the ice with snowmobiles and spend weekends. I was born and raised on the island. Our family still enjoys our time here. Have a good winter and be safe on the trails.
  5. Same to you. Couldn't be better for us. Sitting having coffee in our cabin on Grindstone Island on the St Lawrence river. No summer residents around and very quiet. I love it. Everyone have a great day and be safe.
  6. The highlight of the trip for us was we were ride down the trial and David started pointing and jumping . He stopped and ran back by me and pulled a moose horn out of the snow. Still got it. Had a lot of fun showing to everyone. Lol
  7. Hello riders. Last year we ordered new 850 renegades. Thinking like our 800's they would come with the short windshields. Me having to get ready ordered 2 Two that is new 17 inch medium windsheilds for the new rides. Well after receiving the new 17 inchers I happen to read the 2018 model comes with 17 inch medium windsheilds. Any way if someone happened to break theirs or needs one from last years model let me know and I will send it your way. I have the side deflectors for both windsheilds. We want these to go to someone in need and not to someone to sell for their personal gain. Of couse I don't want to pay the shipping. They will be free to someone in need. Be safe and enjoy the adventure.
  8. Iceman did you ever ride the trail from La Sarre to Matagami. David and I did it years ago, maybe 2008 or 9 . The trail had lots of sticks growing up thru it. Any way we always think of the guy in the truck stop out of La Sarre looking at us like where are you going. All we seen was wolf tracks and a few moose tracks. At that time being on a trail with 100 miles to the next gas stop was unnerving for us anyway. Oh yea. never seen another sled track all the way either. But it was a adventure.
  9. Also post your request on the general discussion, Lots of great people read the posts
  10. Go north to Chibogamoe, didn't spell that right. then south east to lake st Jean area and back though Clova. Stay north of 13 and 63. Trails are flatter and faster. Head for Amos area first and go from there. Good luck and enjoy. Lots of wild life there at least tracks I've seen. Your going to have a great time.
  11. Snow on the ground in Rochester. First seen it at 3 this morning. Made me so happy I woke up the little woman to see it. It didn't go over well.
  12. Heard back from Alain. He said the Minister, exact words, that he cut the money for all bridges and other extras for the clubs in Abitibi, but we are fighting it and it does look promising right now. Hopefully they have started to get it under control.
  13. I know the president of the Temiscaming club. We buy our trail passes from them. He should know what is going on. I will email him tonight and post his responce.
  14. Writing to a politician is a great idea and I would do that. If someone could post names to write to would help the American riders. We have the same problem here in the Adirondacks and this is the reason I love Quebec so much plus the trails are the best. I just don't want to write a letter and have it sit on the wrong desk. Only my thoughts. Possibly write a letter with all the American Quebec Riders signatures on it. Strength in numbers.
  15. Well the boy and I feel a lot better. The call came from the Ski Doo dealer. New 850 renegade are here. Only problem is we let family and friend store their sleds in our trailer. The don't want to give it back. Still feeling pretty good tho.
  16. It's happening guys. The st. Lawrence river has a little steam on it. Earliest I can ever remember. Water wasn't as warm this year either.
  17. Grimmer. Question for you. I was reading in skiers magazine this morning about sking in the Chi Choc mountains. Anyway they said there is a herd of cariboe in them mountains. Is this true?
  18. I bet they will take them in Quebec loop
  19. If you have newer sleds no problem. Or maybe stay away from the northern most loop, Or stay closer to the populated areas until she get more nerve. Or no I won't say that. lol
  20. I just hope the snow isn't too white or the ice on the lakes isn't blue enough. Well I don't care. I'm riding my new sled as many miles as I can. Lol
  21. Came back from Rochester NY headi g home and passed or Ski Doo dealer. There boxes of new something's in their back yard. Problem is that I didn't look good enough to see if it said Ski or Sea Doo on the box. Now I'm thinking it's too late in year for water machine's so I'm hoping for a call anytime. But then again what do u do with a new snowmobile in July.
  22. Almost ride able. I bet you thought that too Ice.
  23. The other thing I think of is you know you are covered with the Quebec trail pass. If something did happen and being that you are in an other country your New York or where ever insurance might try to screw you, At least for a 25 to 50 dollar extra you know for sure you are insured. Just one thing you don't have to worry about on your adventure.
