  1. Hey Chris ……another “Chris” here from NY. Haven’t met you yet but hope to someday. Thanks much for posting the reports/pics. It’s nice to see there is still some adequate snow somewhere in Quebec…LOL I’ve ridden crazy amounts of miles on the 93 over the years and can see by the pics they are WAY low on snow as everywhere else this year. I was looking at past years pics last night and have many that show 2-3 times the amount IN MID DECEMBER!! At least it’s enough so you guys are getting a decent ride in. My guess is (and hope I’m wrong) you’re going to have a lot more challenging time on the 83 circling back around. We will be cheering you on from a far and looking forward to more pics/posts
  2. please report back here about your trip, trail conditions and most importantly food porn pics if you have not been to one of the cabins at l'Ombre before you will love it awesome place except the showers are small as hell
  3. I just tried calling the new number 819 676 6466 and it did go through. Had some voice mail greeting but my lame ass couldn't decipher it. Anyone who understands French should be able to at least here what the message says
  4. I'm still trying to figure out what is/was more lame. The state of Quebec snowmobiling right now or that half-time show by Usher.
  5. The 6466 number is not at their place on the Gouin. Andre and Jeanie do not own the Ombré anymore and are retired and currently on vacation away from the area. do not know why the new number is not working
  6. BTW Wes ...that is one damn fine looking bike.

  8. Way to go Wes !! was 61 in Rochester yesterday and close to it today im in severe state of depression hopefully will get another week in Quebec this shitty season
  9. FYI……. friend stayed at Gouin last night. Their rig is in St Anne du Lac. Said 345 was nice ride back today but they were riding some mud around St Anne. They were supposed to stay until Sunday and leaving tomorrow he said tomorrow will kill it there sad
  10. OUTSTANDING report Chris thanks for sharing
  11. Glad you got out Don. Enjoy the ride. What is that pretzel looking thing stuck into the cheesecake? I agree with Steve on the meals (excluding Repos) I haven’t stayed at Cheval in almost 25 years now when it was the old place. Have been there several times for gas but that’s about it.
  12. They have a new state of the art gas pump whip out your card and do the touch thingy and bingo
  13. Long shot and probably wrong Odanak ?
  14. Marginal burger Best in town though LOL
  15. One more thing I wanted to point out to everyone about the Camp de Base place in Casey. Now if this don’t chap your ass nothing will. Well at least for me. Last Friday me and the boys and a group of Québécois that were also staying at Windigo the night before pulled into camp de Base in Casey for lunch. A total of 8-9 of us. Who is there hosting but “Rafael” (goes by Raf) Nice younger kid who was also there last year. I saw the Starlink on the roof when we pulled in and I’m like “hell ya “ after everyone ordered their stuff I whip out the IPad and see the network is secured. im like …”Raf”….what’s the password? he replies “can’t give it to you” I’m like….WTF do you mean you can’t give it to me. He says he’s under strict orders from owner as there were too many people pulling up outside and using it and never coming in to support the place. I said… Raf…I’m in here supporting it NOW , and LAST year AND the first year it opened when Norman was running it I was the FIRST fucking customer they ever had. He says ….I know Chris but I can’t. chapped my ass something fierce and don’t know if I’ll get over it or not. just an FYI for everyone
  16. I often wonder (and thank) my riding partners as well. How they put up with me is “surely one of life’s little mysteries “….. Angel Eyes, Jeff Healey, 1988 a PHENOMENAL musician gone to soon.
  17. Damn it would have loved to seen you again and chatted out paths will cross again I’m sure
  18. Yes and if you google his name you can find an audio clip of one of his songs. He was a talented individual. I can’t seem to find anything else on the net about him but will surely be inquiring with the locals next time I’m up there. Would like to know more about his life and untimely death at 46 a couple years back.
  19. I got you beat on the Relais 22 cheeseburger pic Wes and I even had them add bacon to mine bwahhhhhhhhn…… so glad you guys had a great trip as well. Back home safe and recuperating
  20. Having coffee at the camp and waiting for the boys to wake up. We finish our trip today with a quick 80 mile run back to the truck in Mattawin. Just shy of 1400 mi. For the week. All in all it was a great run albeit some challenging sections here and there. No breakdowns, no mishaps and we all stayed on our seats and out of the ding weeds. So good to ne back in the land of the snowmobile. Now the load up and long journey back home……ughhhh i leave you with some pictures yesterday of the little church 200 ft north of the Manoune “B” (I think) dam on the 345 trail heading to Kanawata. they have been constructing this little church for the last couple years and it now looks 99% finished. It truly is beautiful and someone put a lot of time and money into it. A MUST see whether you’re a religious person or not. The chapel is named after Saint Kateri Tekakwitha who was the first female Native American ordained as a saint in Canada back in the late 1600”s and the chapel is dedicated to “ Benny Petiquay” which one would assume was a local native from the area. I hope to hear his life story someday but it’s kinda hard to find a local around to ask. Every time I come through no one is there but surely someone looks after the place.
