  1. Your right. I’ve just made a permanent mental note in my brain to have enough gas with me that I’ll never need to stop there again.
  2. I would have FLIPPED OUT on the price difference. That’s NOT right.
  3. My buddies cabin on Lac Chapeau de Paille which is at the very dead end of M21 trail off M20
  4. Used it a week ago yesterday at about 7 pm think it runs 7 a.m. till 10 p.m. just a guy with a big old suburban and a 5 place enclosed clapped out trailer. Pull them in, hit the parking brake and jump in the truck. 36.00 a sled so an even 40.00 with the tip. You get to either hotel and they call the guy and 20 min. Later he shows up. Simple.
  5. My god Playhard you are a logistics guru ...LOL That’s cool how you detailed that all out. one question on Cote Nord gas. You have Godbout down on the list and when we were there about 10 days ago at the ferry dock the guy said no gas in town and no depaneur. ???
  6. GREAT report and pics. It’s like I was riding it all as I read it. Glad you had a great trip and where is the first pic of the green cabin and outhouse ? Jesus there’s a lot of snow there.
  7. LOl....yeah I was there this year and felt the pain on that one. Then we found out our cabin shower was froze up and had to haul over stuff to the main house to shower.
  8. Everything he said above and very glad to,hear you guys made it safe. We too had 1400 miles on our trip and we didn’t have 1/10th the trouble you guys encountered so you guys are REAL Quebec Riders (and New Brunswick...LOL)
  9. jack, I used to stay at the Governeur a lot years ago. Mostly by sled but a couple times as a base. Yeah, it’s a PIA getting in and out of there whether your familiar with it or not. We always liked the place/rooms though. Based out of Drakkar last week and hadn’t been there since it was the “Safari” and it worked out well. Super easy access except crossing the 4 lane when it’s busy is a bit nerve racking. Have fun and be safe. Hope you make it all the way. Here is an identical of your last pic that I took Saturday morning.
  10. zrtkatq, I just looked on a map where Caraquet is. JUDAS PRIEST you’ll be in England soon. Things on the interactive map are showing lots of green this a.m. in Quebec so hopefully things won’t be as bad as it looks when you guys get out on the trail. The wind stopped here in upstate NY last night so hopefully you will see it die down there soon.
  11. Godspeed Zrtkat. Reminds me when we got socked in Amqui some years back and had to bag circling the peninsula. Make the best of it and have fun and be safe. Remind everyone in your group that you will NOT be able to see some signs and be EXTRA PRUDENT. and we would all enjoy some pic updates when u can
  12. And to think I was just on it Wednesday. It was a beautiful day and no hole then...LOL we were inside the Godbout terminal bldg last Tuesday at 4 pm shooting the bull with the Guy there. They were getting the new hardware late last week and installing it with hopes of doing a test run over this weekend and possible return to service for today. Guess the test run didn’t go well. Pics from last Tuesday-Godbout
  13. Have yourself a GREAT trip Nick. I see we’re almost neighbors. Got my cat from the Hornell animal shelter. Be EXTRA CAREFUL this trip as many signs are covered up and will be worse after today’s storm. Especially around Shawinigan area.Just got a call from a buddy in Sherbrooke and they are closing roads down and there are reports of commercial roofs collapsing in QC. This pic was taken a week ago yesterday east of Shawinigan and that was two snows ago now. Signs were mostly buried and some only stuck out an inch or two. I would imagine most are undercernable now. Lots of road crossings around the area !!!!!
  14. And the best depanneur “fast good food selection “ award goes to........Petro Canada -Baie Comeau hands down the best selection I have ever seen anywhere!
  15. You got that right Jack. Was thinking all the same things as I ran it in each direction on Tuesday. Here are a couple more pics from the trip.
  16. Was just there Friday night for the first time in a lot of years. Trail came right into the parking lot at the hotel and the new restaurant is across the street where I did see trucks and trailers parked way down to the left but don’t know anymore than that. Here is a pic of a guy in our gang and 3 cool Ontario boys we met on the ferry and then 2 1/2 days later on the trail.
  17. Just left there at noon yesterday to head back home after a 6 day tour. 10 bucks a a day for peace of mind knowing your stuff will be there when you get back and easy Shawinigan trail access =PRICELESS
  18. Are you sure you didn’t get that backwards. I personally don’t think the west side holds a candlestick to the east side. .
  19. Rode from Matane to Saint Pascal today. All BEAUTIFUL and snowing most of the day. Saw about 30 sleds all ,day. Here are a couple pics from today. Near Cabano and Phonegamook.
