  1. Heard there's a Festival de Rhubarb in Forestville Wednesday!!
  2. Having a BLAST (literally) BLAST'ing out Iceman's trough wide enough for 2-way folks that may come along before the groomer, and nuthin beats having NH Moose tailgunning in case McGuyver intervention is needed! I guess we fooled ol' Murphy's Law this time! I had Pierre put the scratchers and Rouski wheels on last week! Ha! Might need them if we have to take Rt 138 back to the trucks!"Snowfall amounts possibly exceeding 20 centimetres are expected from Wednesday morning through Thursday. The snow combined with the strong winds will reduce visibilities to nearly zero in the blowing snow. A major storm originating from the Central United States is moving towards Quebec. Snow will begin Wednesday morning over Eastern Quebec and intensify during the day. Rapidly accumulating snow could make travel difficult over some locations. Winter storm watches are issued when multiple types of severe winter weather are expected to occur together."
  3. Not officially stuck, not even on the trail, just huntin' for some rhubarb!...
  4. They rock. I had vegged out with loading an update via cable. And when I called the very understanding gal did a computer share and just ran the thing. In minutes she'd done what was taking me hours.
  5. Reviving this old thread, for reliving this old thread: http://www.viaexplora.com/snowmobile/index.html?attraits=&unit=mi&lat=48.093348&lng=-69.313134&zoom=7&force=1&ewaypoints=4784326,-6988953,136944,170649,101269,179472,-148746,-269371,-128030,-128540,-570,-15450,-98824,-214443&cst=1.0,1.01,1.05&csts=1.0&cstr=1.01&spd=50000,50000,50000
  6. The notorious Iceman high-marking the falls (on Scorpion Bowl's birthday!)...
  7. There's definitely others, free and paid, but I'm a RAVING FAN of this one on my Montana!... https://www.trakmaps.com/en/products/gps/snowmobile/quebec/
  8. Big 10-4 on that! Sandi's in excellent company! Wish I had a tank of gaz for every time a civilian asked "How fast do those things go?"
  9. I don't want to take this thread off-track, but... I hope like hell that everyone keeps their hands on the bars, and doesn't signal to me and my loved ones that #1) They're in 50% control of their machine, and #2) They don't don't know how many riders there are behind them, so #3) When we see a "last" rider hold up a potato let's all ride as if Dallas is alive and well and rolling along as tail-gunner. R.I.P.
  10. Thank you Teet for following your gut and posting. And thank you NJ for the clarity. I'm pathetically unable to imagine how you and yours feel about this tragedy. But we're all able to make very sure that Dallas' memory serves to save other's lives. Peace,
  11. Good Karma! You know it!... Super bummed to hear you two got cut short. Super stoked to know you knew to back off a bit and are ultimately safe! Us Ape riders might not hear noises that "normal" rides make? Thanks to you and Gemma from all QDR's! (Quebec Desktop Riders) YES! A great report is a FANTASTIC distraction from work that piles up like drifts on Mt St Pierre. Godspeed to Long Island. Here's your souvenir...
  12. Did ya look under Annik's drink tray? Right next to the biteharder sticker?

  14. Try this one: http://viaexplora.com/snowmobile/index.html?unit=mi&lat=47.507575&lng=-77.208134&zoom=8&force=1&ewaypoints=4654780,-7548620,168450,-354635&cst=1.0,1.01,1.05&csts=1.0&cstr=1.01&spd=50000,50000,50000
  15. Even a weak day for you is a STRONG report for us! Thanks! And thanks for repositioning those stop signs! That's no joke for the next guy!
  16. http://www.quebecrider.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=3958&p=52560
  17. That sucks for sure. Chateau Roberval, and most places, are fine with politely parking sleds out front (WITH CHAINS & LOCKS), and sometimes those spots are better thanks to hotel traffic and cameras.
  18. I know I'm late on this one, but I've been there done that, and if you hate fine dining, full spas w/indoor pools, comfy rooms, indoor heated parking, and the likelihood of bumping into friendly staff & guests, stay the hell away from this place! www.montagnecoupee.com/en/
  19. There's a sled shop/outfitter right in the parking lot of the 4 Points who can probably give you real-time conditions: Kamoutik Aventure 7900 Rue du Marigot, Ville de Québec, QC G1G 6T8 www.raidmotoneige.com (418) 626-2182 Here's what you wanna see looking out your window over there in the morning!...
  20. You'll be great, as long as you're not riding with Scorpion Bowl, who has pretty bad luck with timing the grooming on that run, check here and light up the top right corner for Services & Surfacage: http://fcmq.viaexplora.com/carte-motoneige/index.html And if you have time, and since it's not going to be a weekend, stay on the 355/351 south of LaTuque and ride down the legendary "pipeline", then do 23/353/23 back into the Roquemont. Top off in in Lac Edouard then it's a 100 miles and the trail runs right thru a gas station in Lac aux Sables.
  21. Yupper, 20-25 miles just west of Relay 22, Windigo's a cozy lodgey kinda place, husband & wife have A+ hospitality, but you should call ahead cuz it's off the grid and they plan meals & rooms ahead: Daniel and Martine Roy Pourvoirie Windigo Inc. Case postale 583 La Tuque (Québec) G9X 3P4 819-523-8181 www.pourvoiriewindigo.com info@pourvoiriewindigo.com
  22. Looks like a few ways to go, but Mr. Google has them as "unnamed road"...
  23. Traffic doesn't seem like a problem up in there!
