  1. Perhaps you could discuss this with an Ontario member of parliament, Don’t forget to mention that we pay double the price in Quebec that Ontario sledders do. Sorry couldn’t resist!😁😁😁😁 Ontario The price of the Seasonal Trail Permit is $270.00 (+$7.50 processing fee), but if purchased on or before December 1st, pay only $220.00 (+$7.50 processing fee). Buy early on or before November 1st., and pay only $190.00(+$7.50 processing fee). Ontario annual snowmobile registration = $33 Quebec 330 $ for an annual trail permit purchased on or before December 9, 2019 410 $ for an annual trail permit purchased after December 9, 2019 640 $ for an annual trail permit sold on trail* 250 $ for an annual trail permit for antique snowmobiles (2000 and older) 220 $ for a 7-day trail permit 135 $ for a 3-day trail permit 65 $ for a 1-day trail permit 580 $ for an annual trail permit for a rental snowmobile Quebec annual snowmobile registration = $94.60
  2. Death threats and assault leading to that degree of injuries hopefully will lead to attempted murder charges. Certainly not something you hear of within the snowmobile community.

    Trail opened

The Pitit Train du Nord opened today January 4th 2020 between labelle and Mont Laurier. Limited snow I would imagine.
  4. I think some Team Iceman stickers on their mail boxes would really help!😁
  5. Now that’s funny and not at the same time.😁
  6. Happy New Year!👍👍👍
  7. No just changed the date a few years back. I don’t find too much difference, regular weekend always meet a few middle of the trail or corner seriously on the left sleds. Free weekend just a few more but I guess I’m more cautious in expecting the unexpected, tending to slow down more on blind corners, tight right, left hand covering the brake and ready to bail off the trail.
  8. I’m betting not much opened up yet or just getting opened. Some trails open but hard to connect with others still closed if you look at the interactive map. https://fcmq.qc.ca/en/snowmobilers/interactive-trail-map/
  9. Mt Laurier and surrounding, you might want to check grooming on I motoneige in the next few days. From Montreal north past Mt Tremblant, all this area had little to no snow on the ground and no trails open up until this point. We did ( Tremblant ) get a good dumping yesterday and it is still snowing today, is it enough to get the trails going?, I am hoping / thinking so. Not sure about mt Laurier but I suspect they were light on snow too and I also suspect this storm dumped less snow further north but not sure at this point.
  10. I am guessing you would have to inquire about trailer parking. The main outside parking is behind the hotel and would be a likely spot along one side. This place has only recently reopened a few years back after being closed for a while and I know they were anxious to accommodate the snowmobilers and attract their business. They were a sponsor on here, not sure if they still are. Maybe you were the guys that solicited them to sponsor?
  11. Yes Lac Carling Strikes me as a great place to launch from. It is 90 min from my place by trail and I have been there a few times for their buffet brunch. Hotel Chasseur is a regular lunch stop for us too. They sell gas out of a big tank in a shed cash only I believe. Check snow conditions first, right now the whole area is waiting on snow to get grooming and open trails.
  12. Here is the article in full. I take a lot of what one women says in it as embellishment, but that is just my opinion. https://m.en24.news/a/2019/12/snowmobile-bypass-project-turns-into-fiasco.html
  13. There is not much snow around here, had several bouts of snow then a warm up so there may be a couple of inches on the trail at the most. No trails open around here for the moment. Here is a pic from one of the many articles about the complaints. 78F083EE-7EBB-48B0-B0A8-03F07D02CB3D.jp2
  14. I imagine they will get it sorted out one of these seasons but a brand new trail sits idler due to residents complains. Are you basing out of Tremblant or what? To ways to st Donat from Tremblant is the 317 dropping down to the 3 or going north On the 232 and then the 63. Big pain in the butt.
  15. Mine came in today also, ordered December 5th.
  16. Merry Christmas to all. Good to see you back Iceman.👍
  17. With regard to the accident at Mt Valin, I can’t imagine the grief that family is going through. Apparently while unloading a snowmobile from a truck at a chalet the family momentarily lost track of their young child and the truck hit the child when it was moved. So sad
  18. Paying extra for Express or Priority post has nothing to do wth the FCMQ or speeding up their processing. It is just a delivery option offered by Canada Post to expedite the item quicker, but it only works best major center to major center, throw in living in the country or the need to pass through customs and then onto the USPS and you get the idea. Mail volumes are not what they used to be at Christmas, except for the parcel segment which is growing at a crazy rate at Christmas. The Parcel segment and any backlog due to volume should have little or no effect on the passes which are basically sent in a letter mail envelope. I live just 70 miles north of Montreal and have not received my pass yet, it was ordered Dec 5th. Last year it took about a week and a half. My take on the delay is with ALL the passes being sold only on line this season for the first time and everyone wanting to buy before the price rise deadline, they are simply overwhelmed in processing them.
  19. Lack of workers is probably not a rumour but a reality. Tremblant area was suffering the same fate all this past summer and many establishments were having trouble finding workers. It got so bad the local Mac Donald’s cut their opening hours several times due to lack of staff. My neighbour who works at a hotel chain in Tremblant village said they were paying $21 and Change for basic kitchen help to attract workers and a friend of mine with a very nice summer restaurant lost his head chief and ended up closed for the season because he could not find a suitable replacement.
  20. You don’t suppose that only when they realized all the construction was for a snowmobile trail that they had an issue?😇. This project has been 2-3 years in the planning and was often in the local free newspaper before the first tree was cut and the progress of the construction was also reported several times in that same paper.
  21. We Rode down the median separating the lanes years ago to get through when the Pitit Train du Nord first closed, if we could do it then without any “ built trail” I imagine it would be doable and maybe even doable with less work and money. As I remember the trail when it joined the Pitit train du Nord had to cross the 4 lanes of traffic somewhere near St Agathe, obviously to run up the median you only have to cross 2 lanes of traffic running in the same direction and another 2 to get off and reconnect to the trail in St Jovite. Possibly less dangerous than being chased by an irate resident with her broom!
