  1. So whats the deal if you aren't subscribed / insured with airmedic?  They still come and you get a 4 or 5 figure bill for the airlift afterwards?  Or will they deny you a flight?

Completely agree getting the patient to a road or landing area is the big challenge.  Witnessed an incident near home.  Injured party was maybe 2 miles from the nearest road / town.  Relatively good place in comparison to some of the remote places we get riding.  Was a 3 hour process to get medics in, victim stabilized and transported out to the air ambulance on the back of a side by side on a backboard.  Medics wouldn't ride in behind me on my sled with 2 up seat.  Had to wait for volunteer fire department to give them a ride in.  Once in the air ambulance he was at the hospital 200 km away in under an hour.  Was a big eye opener on what the extraction process can be.  Sold me on a tek vest that day.

  2. Saint Donat.  Some good lookouts there.  Can catch the St Come ice festival if you go mid February which is nearby.  Also Devils Mountain and Windigo Chutes.  Book at one of the nicer outfitters in the area.  Ice Hotel is a good spot if in Quebec City.  It's not trail accessible though.

So no one.  He has nice floors.  I get it.  But why advertise it if the majority if your customers can't use it.

Sad news.  Certianly a heavily traveled trail.  Hopefully the will still groom from the 595 up to the top of Mount Lyall.  Hard to believe with the forestry road network in that area a detour could not be identified.  The trail has already been removed from the FCMQ interactive map.

Not likely that that will be groomed.  La cache is at the tail end of a 12 hour groom from either direction.

What a disappointment. I just finished booking our Gaspe trip a few days ago and the Chic Choc trail was part of our route.

l can’t even picture any bridges of any significance across there. The interior trails helped to disperse some of the traffic doing the Gaspe. Going to make the perimeter loop busy. Bad for,the Copper Hotel also, Jack wasn’t very happy last winter, this sure won’t help.

They're under 15' of snow when you cross them.  You'd think by mid winter they could just fill the creeks full of snow and carry on.

  6. If the clubs are doing their jobs the section from Baie-Johan-Beetz to Kegaska is the resl issue as it's off trail riding.  Sounds like from Sept Isles east is / has been touch and go though.  Hopefully the new funding formula helps this area bringing them funds they didn't have in the past.  I'm sure it's a tough area to sell many permits in being end of the road / trail with low population nearby.  Given the infrastructure they're building, you'd think there would be some interest in keeping it groomed up and open reliably.

  7. They were on the map last year.  You'll find the signs at them in the field.  Whether cell service works or not at every one I have my doubts.  Some are pretty remote where cell service definitely is non existant.  In event of an emergency are still a great tool to communicate where you are.

No bueno.  Loved that ride from the Classic to Val D’Or…. I forgot to mention the Classic on my list of ownership changes.  I thought that section of 63 was closed for the past couple seasons due to logging, and if anything the bridges would be bigger and better now.  I bet the Pavillon Laverendrye will be another to add on the list in short order.

Hopefully not.  The whole 386 / 63 setup is reliant on them.  I know the place was for sale a few years ago.  Never heard if it was sold. They seem to have things sorted out though.  They have been filling the place through the week with loggers.  Only open for food and gas through the week with accommodations on the weekends.
