  1. Darn! We are doing most of that loop but we are goin the last week of January(opposite direction). I cant go mid Feb. we are leaving from St Zenon and are going to make our way up in Matagami one night (never been there) Then backtrack and up to Chibougamau. At this point the wife and I are gonna go alone, should be about 1300 miles in 5 days. Be aware of the gas issue after Clova with Fallion closed this winter.
  2. We also like the Sagueneenne, but have also stayed at the Delta, back then it was the HI. We have decided to stay back home and save our resources for when the conditions are are better and there is connectivity. Now that I know you will be up there it would have been nice to meet you. The risk of theft is everywhere. It does not matter if you are in Canada or the US. Sleds get stolen. The first time we stayed at the Sagueneenne theives tried to take some sleds but did not get them. A couple years later when we stayed at the HI (Delta) they tried to break into to the snowmobile corral but failed to get away with the any sleds. It happens everywhere and you just have to prepare and make it as difficult as possible for theives to take your stuff.
  3. I know it is pretty much last minute for that area but I wanted to wait and see how snow conditions were in other area's first. Caracajou looks nice. I got their answering machine when I called I will try Monday. Thanks Iceman. That is an option that I also thought about and maybe by the 27th the snow is good enough to ride out of the Delta. I will wait and see if Auburge Caracajou has any rooms left first.
  4. Trying to make reservations in the Valins area between Christmas and the New Year. Passion is booked and no one at KM31 could speak english. Any other recomendations for this area? I am assuming you cannot ride out of the Delta or the sagueneenne at this point in time.
  5. HA! Never been to Tugg Hill have you? I agree not the best time to head to Quebec. BUT that is the time frame we both have off work so we will ride. Riding in some traffic is better than sitting at home not riding at all wishing that we made the drive up.
  6. TIC TOC, TIC TOC, TIC TOC. YEP cant wait. 12/26 is our travel day. Sleds are serviced & ready, just serviced the trailer and wheel bearings now we wait.
  7. X2 I have done that for years years. It can be quite sketchy at times. All Terrain/All Season tires are about useless in snow/ice when thay are below 3/4 to 1/2 tread. I put winter rated tires on both of our vehicles this fall.
  8. When I was still riding Polaris I drove 3.5 hrs to my dealer. They treated me that good! Now that I am on a Doo it is only about 35 minutes.
  9. X2 on Chateau Roberval. I stayed there last year and will stay there again the next time I am in the area.
  10. That is good to hear! Our Gades did not come in last year until 12/19 and we picked them up on the 21st. Brp sure cut it close for us last year.
  11. Linda Did your dealer confirm delivery or will you have to rent/borrow a sled for this week? I will look forward to your reports as we will be headed up on 12/26. Possibly Valins, not sure. A lot can change in 4 weeks maybe till then I can park the truck closer to home.
  12. Little too late for us. We are headed somewhere on the 26th and headed home on the 12/30 or 31st. Already had off work so decided to head for snow where ever that might be. We have not been up for quite a while befor ethe new year we will see how it goes.
  13. SO has there been an exact date chosen? I am doing the Gase outer loop sometime in early March. I have not pinned down the week so far. I have been trying to make one of the winter gatherings and this just may be the year.
  14. Thanks for the advise we will also be visiting the Gaspe for the first time this year. Probably the first week of March. Have not pinned down the exact week.
  15. 160 is for sure too far for most. I dont need a short cut as we are good for 200+ per tank. But I will still buy you a beer if we ever run into you.
  16. Explora is showing about 120 miles from Clova to Louvicourt. If that is correct most should make it. A friend of ours ran out on his Apex at 122 miles last year and that was with a 9.2 gallon tank. Might actuallybe more than Explora is showing so riders may not make it without fueling at Balbuzzard. Anyone have the exact distance?
  17. I have 2 of them. Both Renegades and last season we both averaged above 20MPG and I rode only in sport mode. Sharon rode primarily in standard mode and she averaged a little better than I did. That is a 10.7 gallon tank (200 mile range no problem). I liked my Polaris Switchback a lot more than the Renegade, BUT when saddlebagging it is hard to walk away from the fuel economy!
  18. That sure does suck! Nice place, stayed the night once. Stopped for gas a couple other times. Clean, friendly excellent food. It was just a nice place and the night we stayed there were a lot of peaple eating & the bar was full. I am suprised by the closing. That was on the top of my list of places to spend the night. Gas will surely be an issue for a lot of people without this stop.
  19. At today's exchange rate it should be $265 US.
  20. Should have looked it up before I posted. There website is up and running sooo it looks like somebody I know fed me some bad information.
  21. I have a 2 place Worthington also. Bought it new in 2012. No frills, clamshell, just a light alluminum trailer that gets the job done. Replaced my 4 place Haulmark that weighed a ton. Hold on it actually nearly 2 tons EMPTY. But my point here is that I thought Worthington went out of business shortly after I bought mine. Not sure, I will have to look it up.
  22. I ordered 2 identical Renegades last year. They both did come at the same time. But I did not get them until 12/21/13!! I hope yours come in earlier than that.
  23. That is still early season. It looks like I am headed up on the 26th. Looking at Valins maybe Passion not sure right now. Just started looking tonight. No opinion on the Central in SMDS always just rode by it. It is quite a busy area and if the snow is good the week between christmas & new year wil be no exception.
