  1. LOL that's only about 5 hours from where he is
  2. I think you should buy it just to meet this guy lol
  3. This was 3 years ago, don't know if it's still there but loves jerky
  4. Nope, never been to the Windigo definitely Domaine
  5. Domaine is the place where the fox shows up looking for handouts
  6. Sign on Friday at the intersection of 345 where the M 20 debuts said closed until Feb. 16th I think. But really should not be talking about the M20 on a public forum
  7. You probably are in the lodge, they usually don't book the chalets unless the tour groups have the lodge filled up. It all good though either way
  8. Could very well be people stealing signs IDK but I rode 1400 miles last week and can count on one hand the posts I saw with no sign on. I have been riding Quebec every year since 1989 and can say without a doubt there are not signs for whatever reason like there used to be
  9. I think the sign issue is less about theft and more about volunteers. In recent years the ATV clubs have gotten stronger and get more riders in the winter. Maybe it makes more sense economically for the local riders to own an ATV they can use all year than to own a snowmobile they can only ride 4 months. All of that coupled with the fact that more people are using a GPS seems to be making the signs disappear.
  10. Looks like a good start Iceman, be safe and have fun
  11. Back home in PA, last 2 days of the trip were pretty rough. Only place we could find rooms Saturday night was Shawinigan only 85 miles from Le Cabanon. We leave Le Cabanon a little late in no rush and head down 23. Decide to go down to St. Come and check out the ice sculptures. Leaving there the signs were poor and we head the wrong way on 349 for about 10 miles. The trail is so twisty it is hard to tell which direction we are going. We turn around and head back and find the trail take 349 all the way past Lac Blanc and onto 23 then 23 into Shawinigan and to the Governeur Hotel. 196 miles for the day but almost all was rough, lots of traffic and getting tore up from the mild temps. Sunday we hit the trail early making tracks for the trucks in BSP. First 100 miles was pretty good the throttle jockeys partied hard and slept in I guess. Took a combination of 3,351,302,23 and some local trails until finally staying on 3. Trails great early but were terrible by lunch. The Quebec City area is ridiculous anymore with all the dual use ATV trails literally mush from the side by side rototillers. 378 into BSP was full of 2-3 foot rollers, just too warm for the traffic. You know it is too warm when you see the guys out with the ultra low windshields, wind breaker snowboard gear and motocross helmets. Had just shy of 1400 miles for the trip all in all pretty good considering the last minute change in plans. There is lots of snow everywhere and with the cold temps back now is the time to get there
  12. Today left Barrage Gouin and with the snow last night and strong winds you couldn't even tell we came up the trail yesterday. The groomer was on his way down so hopefully it will be all cleaned up. The 83 was groomed last night in the direction of Wemotaci and was good. Took the 345 down to Kanawata looked to be groomed just before the snow and had some tracks on it so it was ok. Too many found out about this gem in recent years I preferred when they came up the 73 and down the 13 LOL. Gassed up at Kanawata and took the road (which may also be the trail this year but really didn't check) to Repos. Holy shnikes Batman this place was slammed at noon already on a Friday. The tour groups are really ruining this area. I must say lunch was quick and service was good we took the 345 on high alert for the throttle jockeys that were sure to be out. Trail was still in pretty good shape and 5 miles from Le Cabanon we passed the groomer heading out, a little too early I think at 4:00 but hey no one can deny they try hard here. Somewhere around 208 miles, have no idea what is next or where we will get a room on a Saturday but one thing for sure is the light traffic will be done
  13. I waxed the shields and I think it helped because it wiped right off but had to do it like every 30-60 seconds lol. I don't use a heated shield I have an old snoforce modular with the removable mask and I love it. Never ever fogs or freezes up but the freezing mist is its bane
  14. All experienced riders, 4 men three women. Sometimes a challenge to find a pee stop for the ladies but they will go on the trail if need be. The biggest challenge is gas and lunch stops just takes too long but splitting a group like this is not really an option
  15. Wanted to stay close to the 83 for Thursday so we could get a good start. Took 373 to the local 711 to Saint Hedgewich and on 83 west to Relay 22. The 83 at this end is using much more of the road again than in recent years and we are on the road almost all the way to the first warming shack. Trail had been groomed last night and we are first tracks. 83 after the snowmobile bridge was also fresh groomed and fast into Relay22 where we had lunch. Continued on 83 but not groomed in some time going toward Wemotaci was pretty crappy especially the second half. When we hit the road 20 miles before Wemo you can bet we took it. Gassed at Wemo then made tracks on 83 west, not groomed since the snow but still nice all the way to the turn off for Barrage Gouin. The trail to Barrage Gouin wasn't touched since the snow and only 1 track was loose but smooth. 242 miles for the day. 7 in our group they all had the Walleye I took the calves liver it was great. Time to start heading back to the truck I guess, some challenging conditions the last couple days but just glad to be riding
  16. Wednesday we woke up to 5-6" of snow and still snowing/ freezing rain. Left the Universal a little late and headed south on 23 to Yamaha dealer to pick up a belt. Left about 10 headed up 23 and straight across 93 onto 555 the rain is light but freezing on our shields it will continue for most of the day before turning back to snow in the evening. We take 555 to 328 to Begin then take the local up to Lamarche and on to Mount Vilain for lunch. After lunch take 367 to Saints Monique get gas and continue on 367 through Peribonka and stop at Relais Vauvert for a break. Onto 93 then the local 901 to 701 then take 715 into Saint Felician and to the Hotel Du Jardin for the night. Only 150 miles most trails hadn't been groomed but not bad.
  17. Martin at hotel complexe Pelchat came to find us to tell us to get out of Dodge lol he said the snow could be measured in feet and he wouldn't groom until at least Thursday so our decision was easy. We woke up this morning and made tracks up the Pelchat trail for Mt. Valins. Wasn't groomed recently but nice. Gassed at Chappelle then had lunch at Valinouet at The Bistro. Continued on 93 to Alma for the night. Thought I posted this once but never seemed to go through
  18. The plan was drop in Baie Sainte Paul and do the North Shore to Sept Iles. Got to BSP Sunday afternoon and checked in and found the first issue, the Hotel BSP has changed their policy on truck/trailer parking. They wanted to charge us 15/ day seven though we rented 4 rooms for the night. They told us if we reserved for a night on the return they would charge only $25/ week. Then after we are all unloaded they want the keys to the trucks in case they need to move them to plow yeah right smh forget it we say we will move up the road tomorrow so they change their mind. Last time staying there for sure. Next we find out big storm brewing for Tuesday for North shore lol here we go. We take off Monday thinking Escoumins or Forestville but need to watch the weather. Take 378 to 54 local to 94 to 3 lunch in Tadoussac. Looks like the storm will come so we run to Escoumins and will decide the next move there. More later only 160 miles
  19. This area gets pretty much traffic as well but if you stay away from the weekends you should be good. Of course closer to the bigger towns you may find some bumps here and there especially on the feeder trails.
  20. Did the Manic 5 through Labrador down to Blanc Sablon this summer on a bike trip, beautiful country up there- big skies. Do you plan on spending any nights in the bush or do you plan on making it to a motel every night?
  21. Nice report, hope to be up there next week
  22. Thanks Iceman, now if the weather cooperates next week we will be good to go
  23. OK guys called the Adrenaline today and they do not sell trail passes. They gave me the number for Garage Charlevoix about a mile further up 138. I called there and they sell trail permits but are closed on a Sunday. We had a hard time communicating but they either are closed Saturday or maybe he was telling me they were only open until 12. Any other ideas on my route?
  24. I am not aware of any relay problems on the newer sleds. My last sled was an '09 Apex GT and never had a relay issue in 15,000 miles and my current sled is a 2016 Apex XTX and no problems with that either. Now I have been on a trip that it did not want to start but it was -54 in Chibougamau so I won't blame the relay. I managed to get it plugged in then and after a 1/2 hr. she fired right up
  25. I bought mine from these guys great bike shop, talk to Matt or Rocky. You can probably get them locally ordered from a good bike shop but these guys are first class https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&rct=j&q=&esrc=s&source=web&cd=1&cad=rja&uact=8&ved=0ahUKEwjklsOi0crRAhVnIsAKHeMAD9UQFggbMAA&url=http%3A%2F%2Frdpowersports.com%2F&usg=AFQjCNERAuqP3jaex5lBGUUhYR14wdCuSQ
