Im surprised it didn’t happen to catch fire
That's quite a charge but as you say its a looooog ride
We were a two some....I had to get my partner back regardless.
The guys also wanted the sled so bad I thought it was a sting operation and I really don't need to risk dealing with that kind of BS in my life.

Anymore insight on the communicators? Battery life / clarity / distance
years ago we ran the collets and I thought they brought much value for safety.....groomer beacon, wash out, oncoming traffic etc
after they went out of business we never pursued another system

1000 American from matagami to shawinigan.

Heading up to Quebec tomorrow 2/1. Looking for some current trail conditions. We were thinking of doing the Gaspe loop but FCMQ website has the grooming last done over 72hrs.
St Raymond trails? Saguenay? LaTuque? St Zenon?
How often does the FCMQ update the trail conditions.
Any info would be greatly appreciated.
I wouldn't worry about the grooming....The new software there using this year is still a work in progress and the accuracy seems sub par at best.

Hello, I checked this out on the map and it seems to be within the 225 mile or so range. Normally I try and keep the miles around 180 or below but she was ok with the longer day that one time. We will be staying at Passions for three nights after so if we do arive later it would be ok. If you think it will be farther then what I'm thinking please let me no. I do not want to push it to hard. I also see that 23 north looks pretty open from the pics I have checked out.
Thanks
That's a hump in the most ideal conditions with very experienced riders who are very familiar with trails. My mind is telling me more like 250-270 as we just made that run.
If it's your first time in QC I would break it up with a night at the Delta.

Latuque is a few miles off 355 if your in a jam

Without Mikerider, SaguenayBill, Groomer, Iceman, Jack/Sandi, Gutz, Etc and large portion of other members who try to go out of there way to post trip reports, accurate unbiased trail information, conditions, and fun banter, the views will go down the tube and this site sadly implodes.
censorship in any way is death!
If money is the issue the site owners need to look into closed loop marketing and advertising for anything. Views are $$$ and I sure believe there are enough views to make this sustainable and draw more than enough advertising dollars from anywhere and everywhere.
A 22 year old computer science/ Business major could turn this site into a nice little side business in less than 24hrs without having to beg quebec businesses for a couple bucks.

Please Keep Posting Mike

Fortunately I caught my belt before it blew apart. Eric's blew to pieces. Took awhile to clean it all out. Today's mishap was my clutch blowing apart 15 miles from jonquire.
At least you were close to civilization
could always be worse

23 is great
83 to 73 via La Tuque is great
south of the lake is wind blown but passable regardless the direction you go

We got our first day of riding in yesterday after bailing on our Pittsburg-RDL-Maine loop due to trail flooding. Great decision to come to Saguenay. Left the Delta yesterday for lunch at Onatchaway and on toKM31. Trails were in great shape. We passed a groomer on the 477 Orange trail. 93 fromPassion Quebec to KM 31 was the best we have ever seen it-no bumps. Going to try the Pelchat trail today. Thanks to Bill for recommending that we come up.
We passed you guys yesterday just South of Onatchway....Only sleds we saw all day
may see you on pelchant today

no water up here....
we hit one slush area 5 miles from st ray

no reason for groomers not to be out
