  1. Last Thursday morning Coyote and I left Sweet Baby St. Ray headed north to L'Anse St. Jean. Stayed at chalets sur le fjord, great meal at Chez Montagner. 250 miles by way of 23 368 383. Bill's trail was in tip top shape. Friday we went east and crossed in Tadoussac had lunch at the white birch clubhouse in Les Escoumins. The Pelchat did not disappoint, stopped at the chapple for a mandatory caffeine and chocolate fuel up at the zoo, a splash of fuel at Onatchaway and in for the night at Mont Vilain. 260 miles by way of 383 3 Pelchat 252 251 93 267 476 484. Saturday morning we headed west to Milot, north to Lac Eden back south to Dolbeau and La Dore, ending at the Nordic in Chibaugamou. The rally was in town that night, lot of cool vintage sleds running around. We had a good meal at the Royal pub. 300 miles by way of 373 local 93 Sunday we headed west to Senneterre staying at Faillon. The first 3 days had been hard packed fresh groomed, things were about to change. Once we got to Quevillon the snow started. After lunch in Senneterre the trail had a few inches of fluff, by the time we arrived Faillon we had declared it a powder day. Another great meal that night. 300 miles by way of 93 and 83. Monday morning we woke up to a fluffy blanket of fresh powder covering our sleds. The Coyote had the wisdom to hook up with the a couple guys from the Lake George area. This turned out to be the greatest idea yet, turns out we are all headed to Kanawata for the night. The open areas west of Clova were fun to play in after the Fire Chief, Coup and Coyote had plowed a path for my heavier 4 stroke. 250 miles by way of 83 345. Tuesday morning we continued southeast back to the truck at the Roquemont. We met the groomer just north of the Repos, perfect. The only segment of the trip that concerned me with trail quality due to high traffic south of the Repos was fresh. We parted ways with The Fire Chief and Coup at the intersection of 345 and 360. It was a classic moment in the woods that I think will be remembered by all 4 of us for some time. I enjoyed meeting fellow QR members and spending 2 days swapping stories about our shared passion for snowmobiling in Quebec. 250 miles by way of 345 360 M19 23 73 1627 miles was my final tally.
  2. Stayed at chalets et spa a couple weeks ago, beautiful place, the outdoor hot tub was nice. We were there on a Sunday, so we had the place to ourselves. Play hard suggested it a few years ago, and he was spot on. Supper is a fondue, and breakfast is a help yourself situation, they cook the eggs, you grab the rest.
  3. 1 look at those pics says east side. The west side is a wide cruiser under the power lines, leads into Amos. As viper said, the east side leads into LSQ. Either way we can all agree that Matagami is an experience we enjoyed with the help of hotel Matagami. My wife enjoyed the hot tub in the room. If you really want to get crazy, just head north like Bill and crew did years ago, you can stop into James Bay for lunch....2 days later...lol
  4. FYI For $10 you can put your sled in the heated garage at the gas station across the street. Pretty handy considering the average nightly low temp up there. IMO the west side of 396 is way nicer than the east side.
  5. Word on the street is they put on a good show Thursday night...
  6. That poor monkey on the front bumper...he was hanging on for dear life....lol
  7. That's funny shit Ice. 😂 I did not realize Peter owned both, thanks for the heads up Mid Range. We are staying there tomorrow night.
  8. Don't forget . The food is better at the Tabarnak....sorry Ice...couldn't help myself
  9. The road is plowed and sanded from the Rabaska to the new bridge entering the ZEC Petawaga. So that is a hard no from the bottom up. I beleive that they are logging the Chemin L'Epine north of the Pensive this year so that is a deal breaker right in the middle. Dom might groom from Clova down to the Evasion later this year, but that is a far cry from being able to make it from the top down to the Rabaska. Short answer is the same as I posted this summer, might be a few years before we get that run back in action.
  10. I have purchased a few items from them. Top notch customer service. Very knowledgable, and best of all, will not sell you stuff you do not need. Turn time on shipping is lighting fast.
  11. Always had a Heck of a beer ready to go upon arrival. Bernard is my name, sledding is my game...the guy was a classic in every sense of the word.
  12. https://motoneiges.ca/actions/showConditionsSentier?request_locale=fr Might be a little early Stef. Head east to the mountains instead
  13. Feliz Navidad, prospero ano y felicidad Nosotros necicitamos mas nieve ahora!
  14. https://www.snowmobilecountry.ca/en/conditions/ I remember years ago, having a new sled in the garage....shit, who am I kidding...I would hit it tomorrow. Maybe Towing can give us a mini ride report tomorrow.....Alain? Are you out there? It has to be some sort of new record. A spot you can ride before Thanksgiving not named Valin. My yard has a foot of fresh snow as we speak. Might have fire up the sled just so I dont feel like I missed out on something when the grass comes back
  15. That pic is from the lookout at Apica. You might not be able to go as far east as Sacre Coeur on day 2, in order to make it back to sweet baby St Ray under 300 kms day 3 without using 3. Maybe stay at KM31, keep in mind it might be full of Johnny stand up mountain men though. Usually a turn off for the ladies.
  16. Saguenay would be my vote. Matane is quite a bit further in the truck. I don't believe the St. Lawrence tour you have in mind is anywhere near as scenic as the Saguenay. Here is how I would lay out the trip. Start from the Roquemont in St. Raymond. Take 23 north, bypass L'Etape and have lunch at the relais Apica, spend the night at the Universel in Alma. Head north and then west through the local trails in the mountains. Spend the night at the east side, of 93, someone will chime in for a good place to stay out near Sacre Coeur. Then head back to the truck in St. Raymond. Sure 23 two out of three days. Too much traffic near Quebec city for me. Tempting to make it a loop down 3 from Sacre Coeur using the ferry in Tadousac, but 3 near the shore is not that great. It is wind blown on the north side, and by the end of day three, trying to get through Quebec city back to St. Raymond is a PIA, downright brutal on a Sunday evening.
  17. Pre season trail inspections in the Parent region. 345 north of Kanawata has been widened, should be in tip top shape this winter. 83 west of Casey is also being improved, however this is in advance of logging operations this winter. Genevieve confirmed that the Alliance du Nord contracted Andre to run his dozer to clean the old 83 in order to reroute the trail this winter.
