  1. There's not enough words that can be said for the amount of effort you have put into your work on your trail system and all those photos posted on the net for everyone to view, you truly are an ambassador to the sport. It was nice to have met you Jean-Guy and to have that opportuntity to visit your cabin, my last visit to the Gaspe i was invited to a cabin for a few days with some guys out of Amqui, the cabin was somewhere between Amqui and Kedgewick,NB in that area. What i remember the most was eating so much moose when i was there, moose steak, moose sausage you name it, it was all good. My parents are from the maritimes and they do get some moose from time to time from family but it never tasted as good as was the prepared moose i ate in the Gaspe. Mmmm Mmmm. My next visit i'll trade you some partridge for some moose, how about it? Too bad about the weather this year, i was looking forward to a year ender in the Gaspe and introducing you to some friends from home. Thanks again for everything JG and have a nice summer. We will cross pathes again Ciou JG P.S. The winner of Cains Quest....his name is Jean-Guy. LOL
  2. Yeah!!! we should've stuck to the 3 like everyone else did instead of heading for the hills OH well!!!! Gaspe...Blowing an engine...Snowstorm...getting stuck...running into fences...water skipping, was fun getting to the gathering. Snowmobiling is always an adventure! JG
  3. Nice meeting you too John, had a lot of fun riding with you guys, Notawissi cabins are a nice spot. HPARaptor (Mike) is coming up next month to ride ATV with me, i'm gonna show him what the woods look like with no snow and where the sled trails go in the summer monthes and maybe a few short cuts...if he's nice lol. How about it John! can you jump ship for a few days?
  4. That's really super to hear guys keep on counting, some are not so fortunate.....there can never be enough research. JG Team 22 arriving in second place at Kuujjuaq, anyone know what the yellow highlighting means? http://cainsquest.com/team_times.htm
  5. Third place so far from what i can gather. http://cainsquest.com/team_times.htm
  6. I am glad to hear you concored the 389 without mishap, visiting Manic 5 has always been on my bucket list, those series of dams have always been interesting to me, especially the #5, so much history there. Keep us posted on the race JG
  7. I believe Ed she titled it in her post, she and her group will be staying at the Auberge l'Ambassadeur in Amquoi and doing day loops. Good luck and have a safe trip JG
  8. Have a nice trip and say hi to Jean-Guy for all of us, wish i could join you guys :( but i've packed it in for the season, i look forward to some pics. Keep the red juice to a minumum  Linda he's still got some grooming left to do.lol
  9. When your ready send me a PM, this area is my playground. JG
  10. Side by side looks real nice, new offtrail machine...where does it end, there's always a new toy around the corner. You bet John...was alot of fun, summer's even more fun, atving, boating, hiking and campfires with a little Baileys mmmm. We don't get to use it as mush as we like too in the winter but in the summer it's hard to pull us out of there, we're there just about every weekend, now that sledding is finished around here i can't wait for the ice to break and through a line in...mmmm trout for breakfast cooked on a woodstove is just about as good as partidge in the fall. First pic, just to the left of the center there are some islands, behind them coming from the left there is a pinnusula, our chalet is on the opposite side overlooking the other bay and mountains. Next month we ride atv Mike, i'm going to have a little surprise for your Raptor, ha ha ha.
  11. Thanks for that tip JG...just tried it.
  12. We arrived at our chalet on thursday during the rain, decided to put on my atv rainsuit to unload and do all the necessary chores to get the place up and going for our stay. Following the rain was a deep freeze and friday morning showed the lake with no snow on it and trails were hard as a rock. We did all of our riding offtrail, snow was plentifull and a little softer. Road shoulders at road crossing showed alot of mud and gravel, gravel roads were down to mud, i would hate to run into a trail that ran down a road for aways. From our drive back i could see the effect the warm temps took on the trails at the road crossings, in my opinion, if i were to ride in the near futur in this area make the drive up further north than St.Andre d'Avellen, below that is pretty much wiped out. Let it rain, i'm ready! The Lakes Offtrailing with some friends We cheated a little one day, did some atving instead.
  13. 45 000klms koodos Iceman...whats the maintenance like when you're up there? I'm at 19 000 and next years maintenance list is the two clutches rebuild, chain and sprockets replacement and maybe the plastic drive sprocket replacement, i do alot of preventative maintenance because i have been in the back of a pick up truck a few times and hate to be the one to spoil everyones ride.
  14. Nice trip and pics towing, you guys really take alot of pictures and take alot of your time to post them for everyone to view. 22. Ya thats an odd experience, take a look at the alignment or quality of the belt. On my 04 RX1 i blew the belt at 12000klms at 140, whatta mess. My 08 Apex, i changed it this year at 14000klms only because it was terrible worn down but did not fail, got a new one on now and have 19000klms, belts were original Yamaha parts. Nice pics and trails, Gaspe is the Glory Hole for sledding. A arms, hmmm...snowmobiling is always an adventure. Glad nobody got hurt.
