  1. The old expression about the low windshield "if you want to look cool, your going to be cool". LOL An extra vest for your chest and might not hurt to have a set of gauntlets in your bag. Make sure you get a picture sitting on your sled in front of the big Chibougamau sign. Have a great trip, good luck.
  2. That picture should show beside your online name LOL Good to see you starting an adventure.
  3. Proof on phone is more and more common. Has to match your sled serial # and be within effective date. No issues.
  4. Said in Iceman's post offers had to be in by December 5th 2022. Has anyone heard any update if there was any offers made. I was by a couple weeks ago and there was no activity at the relais.
  5. My condolences to the family as well. Says he was found around 8pm, just about when those swamp donkeys start roaming more. After dark they are so hard to see. Be careful everyone.
  6. Certainly a stretch of trail you can cover ground easily. 450 kilometers in a day is more then doable there. As for the temperature if everyone has good clothing there is no issue.
  7. Three of us were going to do a 10-day Loop through that area this winter. We may now move to the south of the Sageunay River and travel to 383 to the 3 and up to Baie Comeau. It is not a matter of being cheap it is a matter of principle. I also believe this will be felt by the two businesses that are very much frequented by snowmobilers in the region Kilometer 31 and the Chapel. These two businesses need to Rally their local politicians to get this dealt with very quickly. This could also affect permit sales for the local Club. The real problem is the Zec has nothing to lose, and everything to gain.
  8. Awesome pictures, great report. Thanks for sharing.
  9. What a jackpot!!! What is a season or annual fee for the Zec?
  10. Gaspesie always offers awesome adventure.
  11. These red markers are a big part of what makes snowmobiling in Quebec, the best in the world
  12. Hopefully the FCMQ can sit down with government and nip this in the bud. This precedent could spell the end of organized snowmobiling in Quebec. The economic impact of snowmobiling in Quebec is close to $2.6 billion per year, I don't believe the government will turn their back on this.
  13. A short section of ungroomed short term till the trees are cleared is minor. I am sure the businesses up there will see a boost quickly. Hopefully riders don't have all their trips planned to avoid the area.
  14. Big trip will be Feb 14-25 We will be in your area at least once on that trip. The trail now open above Forestville gives us the option of doing a loop, crossing on the ferry one way and the shuttle on the other. How long are you in RDL this trip?
  15. I like it Mike, looks good and lots of protection for cold days.
  16. I wonder if this is being blown out of perportion? Iceman hasn't heard anything on the French forms, is this a one in a thousand instance? I have a trip planned through the area and if I was stopped and charged $12 it would not end the season. The real danger of this whole thing is the pressident it could set. Government intervention is the only solution from the sound of the tone from Nancy at the Zec.
  17. Don, you and Bob are 100% right. I am just not sure how to get stiffer penalties set in place. The Canadian justice system does not impose harsh penalties for anything!!
  18. Happy to hear you are back at RDL Mike. Sounds like things are shaping up quite nicely. I believe Bas St Laurent should get some snow Thursday, that should get rid of those small bumps.
  19. 5% of the sledders ruin things for the other 95%
  20. They are also a QuebecRider supporter/advertiser.
  21. Greàt to hear your day to day reports especially covering so many trails. A really good review of the whole area. Looking forward to hearing about your adventures when you return.
