SnomoGary reacted to doo4adoo in Oxygen Helmets
I just spoke with the local. They had just ordered 10 more in since I talked to her Monday. I asked if I could buy 2 in case we needed them over the weekend if there was failures. She said Mike take them and if you need them then its warranty next week, if not just return them.
I drive an Arctic Cat. If and when I do buy a doo, they are my dealer. I always hear stories like that from this dealer and they are not a small shop either. Always service first.

My condolences to you and your family.
Maybe your club can have a portion of a trail named\renamed in his honor?

.....or as an old wise man told me once, "if out playing in bear country with friends always carry a .22". So I ask him "why a .22 as that won't kill a bear". He says "It is not for the bear, it is to shoot one of your friends in the leg".... Wise old man. :)

Note there is one hill north of La Dore that you can go a long way in the air before touch down. Don't know where it is exactly but I do remember it.

SnomoGary reacted to revct1 in 2019 Jack & Sandi's trips
Hi Ray. Don said I didn't need a wig as long as I kept my helmet on.
Hi GutZ. I'm expecting at least a coffee. The ride was over 20 miles. I wasn't smoking after the event but the sled sure was.
Hi Gary. GutZ is the one that should have been worried. I was, how do I say this, behind GutZ? No. In the rear No. That sounds bad too. Maybe I was second on the seat? Oh that is worse! Well two up is an experience. No we didn't have to stop in pickle park!

LOL, Forgot they were there until we were loading in to the trailer. I added them so his feet wouldn't dangle from the 2-Up Seat.
Sorry

I was wondering what those bars were. I thought that was either to hoist the machine up to work on it or tie it down in the trailer!

SnomoGary reacted to stupe in Quick two day trip in Charlevoix area
Did a quick two day loop this weekend. Trails were mint the whole way. Got a little thin towards the North but still very good. Saturday was 34F all day which was a bit odd for January but the trails stayed together. Its nice that they groom to the top of the old NORAD site in Mont-Apica now.

Hello to Everyone,
First - Thanks to the GutZ brothers for giving me a hand getting me and the Renegade safely back to the truck.
Next - We trucked home Thursday. The transmission control module fixed the truck transmission problem we had on the way up. The Allison transmission is shifting fine again.
The Renegade is at the SkiDoo dealer. A 1.6" Ice Cobra is on order. No more big studs for us. Reading all the posts, I see a lot of riders have already switched to the pre-studded tracks. The dealer is going to have the sled ready this week if all goes well. He said he may be able to get the heat exchanger welded instead of replacing it.
Now it is time to get some end of the year work done for the businesses and do the laundry for our next trip. Hope to see you on the trail.

SnomoGary reacted to MrGutz in Trak Maps
Hey Guys\Gals
I have used the Trak Maps in the past and felt they were very good. I have been using the Biscuit Maps for the past few years due to the limited area we were riding in and the fact I break\lose\run-over\freeze the GPSes on a regular basis.
This years Ebay'd 2757 (Newer Firmware?) did not read the map correctly and nothing i did would get it to work right, it looked like the Biscuit ones were broken lines and No-Hair, Jack and I could have used it once or twice on the last ride to get a bearing on the trail.
I followed the Banner to Trak Maps and in 15 Minutes it was all fixed and looks great.
The trailz are smooth and appear correctly even when zoomed in.
So recommending them over the Biscuit ones is a no brainer, for at least one rider in the group. The cost was 49.00 and is an electronic download for returning customers.
As a bonus they support the site.

SnomoGary reacted to MrGutz in Oxygen Helmets
Hey GuyZ and GalZ
I've had some PMs about the new Helmets and I want to give you a quick run down. This is not a technical eval.
-We needed new helmets and we were going to just renew the BV2Ses (500.00) each.
-The O2s were a little more.
-They fit tight, but are starting to mold\form to our heads and really fit nice.
-You will not be able to hear anyone if you stop for a quick chat with them on the trailz. They are quiet.
-Adjust them, the ear muffs move up and down and in and out with the pads. Take the time to do it.
-Wear a thin balaclava, this will help with getting the damn things on more than anything else. They are tight.
-Built in curtain works great. No need for a balaclava other than they are tight.
-No Breath Box!! Need I say more. (we are a bunch of Mouth Breathers and it kept them clear)
-The controls are nice and do something. I ran mine on low and it kept the shield clear with no problem.
-High is warm.... I mean warm..... Dry my contacts out warm.
-Rear light is bright. Nice.
-They fit the Uclear Amp Pro communicators like they were designed for them. Wire Paths and Cut-Outs.
-No-Hair's fuse popped on plugging in his to the Enduro.
** (Skidoo installed a micro fuse on the helmet port, it is not on any diagram, you should be able to find it under the dash (PITA) small hands helps.
-I would buy them again.
Any questions let me know.

SnomoGary reacted to scorpionbowl in Advertiser C&T Powersports
FYI, C&T Powersports has just signed up to support QR for another two years. For those who aren't familiar with them, they are a local, small business that make tools and accessories for all Ski-Doo sleds. They only focus on Ski-Doo sleds, because that is what they ride and know. For those who like to maintain, tweak, and tinker with their own sleds, this is the business, anything from clutching, gearing, brakes, engine, steering and traction. Let's thank them for their support...
