mikerider got a reaction from viper2 in Christmas eve
Christmas eve into Christmas morning has always been my favorite night of the year to work. It is the one night there seems to be peace on earth. The city is quiet, the few people out and about are cheerful and concerned more for others than themselves. The last several hours lived up to my expectations that there is one day in the year that gives hope to all. Merry Christmas!

Crazy, you also won a free beer on me if you stop in Riviere du Loup this winter, or Rangeley next summer.

mikerider got a reaction from Phil 1 in Groomer Contest 2016-2017
Should we split the days so more people can get in on the prime dates, such as 9 AM to 9 PM and 9 PM to 9 AM???
Also, I would like to suggest those who want can offer prizes. If so, I am offering free glass of wine or beer if the winner can catch me when I happen to be at the Universal Hotel in RDL this winter. So Ice, is this extra prize idea okay? Maybe Phil1 offers his race bike out for a week. or Florida Snowman take a member to Kokomo Beach. I know one member who could probably donate a years supply of those blue pills! (Might make this post go viral).

mikerider reacted to rev39 in some info on Chibugamau
First time we stayed at the Hotel Chiboug we had a minor incident with a 6'10" 400lb local. After that the hair stands up on the back of my neck whenever I get within 50 miles of Chibougamou. LOL Thought we would need more than one toe tag that night. Mike is right, you'll have a story to tell.

Actually, I have stayed at the Hotel Chiboug 3 or 4 times. Rooms are very nice and the hotel restaurant is quite good. Going down the 1/2 mile alleyway to get there is interesting. Being on the main drag downtown really does give a taste of the town, and I say that in a good way. As I recall there are lots of small stores and restaurants, lots of people wandering the streets. Its a flavorful way to see the area. I would recommend everyone try it once. I would actually prefer to stay there than anywhere else in the area. I'm guessing it attracts people from area outposts and villages who come to shop, or on weekends, come to celebrate life on whiskey and beer. If you survive a Saturday night at the Chiboug, depending on your condition Sunday morning, you may get a medal of honor or a purple heart or a toe tag. But seriously, don't pass it up. I would do it again in heartbeat. Promise, you will have a story to tell!

You should really stay in downtown Chiboug at the Hotel Chiboug to get a real 'feeling' for the town!

You guys are so adventurous, wish I was young/younger again and still doing that stuff.
Surprised this crew didn't take me up on the idea of going around the Gaspe on antique sleds.
