  1. Thanks guys, looks like I will go with Shawinigan since it is an hour less blacktop and my friends truck has issues so I have to take my (small) truck to pull the open 4 place with 3 sleds!
  2. We have a trip planed for March 4-9th to LSG area and planned to leave from Shawinigan. I was wondering if leaving from St. Raymond would be better, snow conditions, getting back to starting point, ect. since the long range forecast is calling for above average temps. I have not started trips from these locations in a while and don't remember the areas. It would be Drakkar in Shaw, or the Roq. in Raymond.
  3. Nice restaurant , good food, very nice people, stayed there a few years ago in an emergency, but the rooms were a little run down. Unless they renovated in the last 4 years! Update..did a little research and it looks like it is a new owner and a new building, review says food still good and rooms much better so you should be ok!!
  4. I'll be arriving there on the 3 rd.....! doing a 6 day ride with some 1st timers in QC, I know they will be hooked after this ride!
  5. Looks good Trigger, Thanks for report, I am going to call Drakkar and make reservations for next week.
  6. Matane there is Quality inn or Riotel, New richmond is Le Francis, hotel, and Amqui is select hotel.
  7. You can do RDL to Matane, - Matane to New Richmod via 595, - NR to Amqui, - Amqui to RDL via the 587-579, not high mileage days but a good ride!
  8. Hi JG, are these last photos of the grooming taken today? Looks like good conditions!!

  10. Oh No..! I thought Insurance did not allow ice crossings in Qc! I hope it can be retrieved before it sinks!
  11. You could try Clova day 1 (510km) , Poivoirie la Varendrie day 2 (443km) and back to truck day 3 (362km) along the same route you chose, not a lot of choices to stop overnight along that route!
  12. Great Photos! Did you get the dates wrong or was this last year? Today is Feb 9th! I also ride in the "future" but I don't have photos because I am dreaming it!!!
  13. Can the tourist center deliver the permit to the hotel? Pay with a CC, tell them what days and they leave it at front desk at Forestel and it will be there when you check in.
  14. Mt Apica is 37 miles north of the LeTape junction, Letape is 4 miles off the trail. If you zoom in on the map you can see Mt Apica stop on the map..
  15. If there are no more rooms in the school house, I think Dominic will set you up in the Tamarac, he has done that before.
  16. You could go up 3 to 83, stop in La Mabaie , 148 miles if you are going to break it up into 2 days
  17. Fuse, are you saying CAA will tow your sled for 160km?
  18. Does anyone have the GPS track for the "trail" that cuts from 73 to Windigo via the reservoir and is it doable?
  19. Maybe the north shore groomer is broken and the Matane groomer went over by ferry to help?
  20. They look OK...maybe you can go back and do them again? LOL........I am going to send you someone from NY to show you how to groom !!!!!! Awesome job JG, we all appreciate it!
  21. On 587 west of TQ 5. going towards Rimouski. Gramps, I am surprised, 7 loops and you have not been......now you have an excuse to do it again!!!
  22. Hi RCP......I have been told (in the past) that conditions were not too good and when we arrived the next day they were very good! Remember that we are used to riding the Hill, so anything is better than that! I few on here have just been to the Gaspe and reported good conditions, as well as LSJ so just pick your destination and enjoy..... I dont have any days to take off so I am going to get my back beat this weekend just to ride for a day!!
  23. Hotel & Cie in St Anne Des Monts is the place to stay.
