  1. Day 3, if you take gas in Lac Edouard then St Joseph you can skip La Tuque and cut the corner on the MINT trail connecting 73 & 355 under Lac Wayagamac. If the 110'ish from Roverval to Lac Edouard is too far, top off in 30 miles @ Lac Bouchette.
  2. Pierre at the Gouv said he hadn't seen any sledders yet, nor heard from the club, but the bridge out is "groomed" and there are sticks on the ice. Maybe give these guys the business, and it's closer to the gas: http://www.aubergemoteldrakkar.com/ We just did this (in reverse) and it's SUPER-DUPER: Shawinigan thru St Raymond & L'Etape to Delta is 250mi, nice day 1. Then go northwest over the lake (take gas in Girardeville), go up & over Lac a Jim and stay at Chateau Roberval 200ish mi. Then day 3 down the 355 "Pipeline" etc is 225mi... http://www.viaexplora.com/snowmobile/index.html?attraits=&unit=mi&lat=47.694269&lng=-71.938814&zoom=7&force=1&ewaypoints=4654334,-7275407,186048,158231,67050,-146874,-32798,4312,-24691,37491,-195751,-54190&cst=1.0,1.01,1.05&csts=1.0&cstr=1.01&spd=50000,50000,50000
  3. Me too! Had it done in '88 after my dirt bike vs car encounter, a couple of revisions since. Get the locking cup! Dislocation's a drag. Kept the wifey convinced the whole while that as long as there's a gas tank between my knees I'm safe! You will be too! We took a stab at Mother Nature up there last year. Definitely a rush: http://www.quebecrider.com/forums/index.php?/topic/4214-cote-nord-team-iceman-6-on-3/&
  4. Snowhorse rides as gentle as a lamb. A LAMB THAT'S LATE TO FILE HIS TAXES!
  5. It's never a bad decision to count your matches
  6. The rest depends on how long you want your days to be. Day 1 looks like a good ride. But days 2 & 3 are both pretty short, so maybe run up to Mistissini & back and stay @ Hotel Nordic Chibougamau day 2?... Day 2 LEBEL-SUR-QUÉVILLON to CHIBOUGAMAU for the night ***WHERE IS THE BEST PLACE FOR LUNCH AND FUEL? AND ANY RECOMENDATIONS ON HOTEL AND BEST PLACE FOR DINNER*** Day 3 CHIBOUGAMAU to MISTISSINI
  7. Check the grooming reports before going out... Go to: http://fcmq.viaexplora.com/carte-motoneige/index.html (Or the mobile app on iMotoneige) Click "Services" in the upper right corner Click “Delai de serfacage” (and whatever other "Attraits" you want to see) Click "Fermer" to close the drop down box If you switch the view from Carte (map) to Satellite, it's easier to see the Whites (those haven’t been done 3+ days) THEN HEAD FOR THE GREENS & YELLOWS!!
  8. Holy CRAP! Nice 3 day ride in 2 days! Hmm... Sounds like 70'ish hrs divided by 5hr Energy = 14 shots ea! You didn't have a Team Iceman sticker on your back hatch did you?...
  9. In case anyone didn't get this the first time: ALL YOU NEED IS NH MOOSE IN YOUR GANG! And these guys do a fine job, whether renting or buying: https://www.spdirect.com/iridium-9575-extreme-satellite-phone.html
  10. Still wondering how Jesus-Christ-Joann got that done?...
  11. I've never done audio, chat or GPS, so you're way ahead on me! And don't let any hot-doggers make fun of that GRANDE' windshield! Just remember to dress in layers, so you can peel some and loan em to yer shivering buddies.
  12. Not his first rodeo. Priceless.
  13. Nice! Just guessing here: It's no coincidence that they save that room with the bird's-eye view for you? Enjoy!
  14. Nice. Turns out sleeping with one eye open has definite benefits! Exit: light Enter: night Take my hand We're off to never never land Hush little baby, don't say a word And never mind that noise you heard It's just the beasts under your tent Better call Geiko, see if they rent! Say your prayers, little one Don't forget, my son To include everyone Tuck you in, warm within Keep you free from sin Till the Sandman he comes Sleep with one eye open Gripping your pillow tight Exit: light Enter: night Take my hand We're off to never never land Something's wrong, shut the light Heavy thoughts tonight And they aren't of Snow White Dreams of war, dreams of liars Dreams of dragon's fire And of things that will bite Sleep with one eye open Gripping your pillow tight Exit: light Enter: night Take my hand We're off to never never land Now I lay me down to sleep Pray the Lord my soul to keep If I die before I wake Pray the Lord my soul to take Hush little baby, don't say a word And never mind that noise you heard It's just the beasts under your bed In your closet, in your head Exit: light Enter: night Grain of sand Exit: light Enter: night Take my hand We're off to never never land
  15. Hey now! Anyway: "If everyone is thinking alike, then somebody isn't thinking" - George S. Patton #MakeQRGreatAgain!
  16. Welcome back Wng! Not to start any brand spat, but you're gonna LOVE the Yammi, seeing that you put 200k on your 2-wheeler! And it's a real confidence builder to have Trackmaps onboard, even it's just to confirm reconnecting after a mid-season re-route, or catching a mid-whiteout turn-off. The RAM mounts rock too. If you haven't yet, do consider a DC hardwired cradle if it's available for your unit. It's easy on the cellphones, if there's signal, but it's never a bad idea to check the grooming reports before going out... Go to: http://fcmq.viaexplora.com/carte-motoneige/index.html Click "Services" in the upper right corner. Click “Delai de serfacage” (and whatever other "Attraits" you want to see). Click "Fermer" to close the drop down box. If you switch the view from Carte (map) to Satellite, it's easier to see the Whites (those haven’t been done 3+ days). THEN HEAD FOR THE GREENS & YELLOWS! Enjoy!
  17. BINGO! Ha! I thought the same when I saw it! Made me homesick for Albertville!
  18. ¡Feliz Año Nuevo Senior JG! Super-duper to hear you enjoyed your pop's birthday! It's GREAT to catch up on my sled porn here! McLuvin the pics, keep 'em comin! Thanks always for all you do, on the trails and on the web! See ya soon!
  19. Thanks for the Nat Geo! I've been calling them "trail chickens". I did indeed witness one spontaneously 'sploding (as my right ski tip made its way over his way).
  20. Good Man! No regrets when they take away your sled and give you a rocking chair on the front porch!
