  1. That's the shop with the BVS's 50% off! GREAT guys in there! And yes Bill she looks FANTASTIC on that buggy, and you can take the rear after your photography lessons from Kri-Kri!
  2. Good time to gear up! Last week we swung into the Doo shop in Chicoutimi Nord with a defective BVS electric shield, and for about than the same price as the shield got a complete helmet at 50% off. Which provided a fresh receipt to warranty the old shield. A few bucks for shipping the extra unit home and a few bucks for the parts guy's beers and tres content! I guess the best time to stock up on shamrocks would be the day after St Patty's?
  3. Maybe it's better to have the better-half perched in back on the snow-throne, to remind one to keep the "every'ting is gonna be al'right" focus? Maybe, but hell, that solo recovery with the 3rd bridge hang up was all you buddy. No choices can certainly help with the decision making process. All pics and notes were appreciated, most of all the shot of Dominic's yellow steel box that you generously called a "toboggan". YOU DA MAN!
  4. My note to any buddies who are newbies to QC (because we had a buddy get very politely turned back years ago for a childhood candystore caper)... Border "Security" The border is closely guarded. Regarding documentation, a driver's license is not sufficient to cross the Canadian border: http://travel.state.gov/passport Also worth mentioning, and not new to the border patrol, is checking of each traveler’s criminal history. Even if one has "paid their debt to society", the fine folks at the border may turn you back to the U.S.. If you’re unsure of your Canadian welcome’ness or privileges, you must check it out and clear it before committing to a ride. Please check it out with the Canadian Consulate at (212) 596-1783 well before the trip. (There’s a lovely motel up at the US/NY border by Lake Champlain, where you can spend the week if you’re turned back!) Regarding contraband: Don't bring any! Weapons, drugs, or anything questionably icky, must be left behind.
  5. Yeah man, the 10mi of twisties on the north side of the ferry from Sacre-Coeur to Tadousaac is a nice warm up for the south side 3/383. They're all beautiful but not so much built for warp-speed, especially when it's soft with tourists in both directions like we had last week! Better to take a breath and enjoy. Summer's gonna be loooong looong loooong.
  6. Thanks for the tip! It's a shame when joints like this don;t pop up on ViaExplora: http://aubergecarcajou.com/en/groups/snowmobilers Gotta love riding commando (no bags) once in a while. Feels naughty when you're used to bringing with.

  8. 40 YEARS?!? www.lyricsfreak.com/a/arlo+guthrie/alices+restaurant_20518619.html I filled out the Massacree with the four-part harmony. Wrote it down there Just like it was and everything was fine. And I put down my pencil, and I turned over the piece of paper, and there . . . on the other side . . . in the middle of the other side . . . away from everything else on the other side . . . in parentheses . . . capital letters . . . quotated . . . read the following words: "Kid, have you rehabilitated yourself?"
  9. HOLY COW! Your side-hill shots from the 4th make my butt pucker just looking at them. That was the day we slogged from Forestville to Escoumins. Simple enough for for a sledder with two feet on the high side. But I guess you leaning up hill won't change the angle of the dozer much! And nice job with your Bambi-Whispering!
  10. This has been posted before, but just in case: Go to: http://fcmq.viaexplora.com/carte-motoneige/index.html Click "Services" in the upper right corner Click Delai de serfacage (and whatever other "Attraits" you want to see) Click "Fermer" to drop the text box THEN HEAD FOR THE GREENS & YELLOWS!!
  11. Not fun! But that's a GREAT sense of humor you've got there! Definitely a challenge to change gears from white to black. I've always wondered how the Indy & Nascar guys feel at civilians speed limits, or when red lights go green, after a race.
  12. Might be a bit of a long day from Valin (300mi?) but very worth going up & over 93 to Lac a Jim. Total fav when it's set up right. And not too much traffic out that way.
  13. This is not luck. This is because you didn't have Scorpionbowl with you!...
  14. That is crazy! Same time Friday night. Too bad we didn't know. Archibald's ROCKS. Rolled down from north of the ferry Friday night to stay right by the airport so one of our gang could catch an early flight to Fla. A couple of pub pics in this post: www.quebecrider.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=4214&p=53550
  15. Mmm... exciting... maybe that's why my bride didn't really take to it. Anyway, it's SUPER to read the ride reports of our QR power-couples!
  16. Touch down NY! Long drive(s). Never knew there were so many flavors of Monster Cafés!
  17. Most know what bon sentiers look like, but most ask for pics just the same!...

  19. Who's down for tour de Gaspésie this summer?!...
  20. Ha! Classic!... "I always break the sh#t they never see break before" So many back-stories, or is it Jack-stories?...
  21. Can't spend the afternoon in Escoumins with supplies right? Can't spend the afternoon in Escoumins with supplies right?
  22. Blue sky days between big dump days, not so bad all in all: SAQ closes WHEN?!...
  23. Eastern orange up to Chenail Nord started out fresh n fluffy:
