  1. Any good look outs and must sees on our route? DEVIL’S MOUNTAIN and BARRAGE DU LAC TAUREAU on our itenerary so far.
  2. We ride a Sidewinder and a Renegade XRS 850 are we going to be okay for fuel or should we bring the gas buddies? Is bombo 2 stroke oil available on the proposed route or should we carry some? I know Saint Michelle has a big BRP Dealer but I don’t know about the rest of the route. The plan is to leave the GTA around 3pm on Wednesday to Le Village Windigo north of Mont Laurier. Day 1 Le Village Windigo to Pourvoirie Windigo(13 North to 83 East) Day 2 Pourvoirie Windigo to Auberge Du Lac Taureau(73 South to 355 South to 360 West to M20 to 345 South to 360 West to 33 South) Day 3 Auberge Du Lac Taureau to Pourvoirie Meekos(33 North/West to 100 Lacs to orange feeder trail South to Meekos) Day 4 Pourvoirie Meekos to Le Village Windigo( 319 West to 13 South to Devils Mountain Lookout and then back to the truck/trailer and drive home)
  3. Road from Val d’Or to Kitcisakik and back last Saturday, north bound had been groomed, south bound had only been packed, and lots of trees and brush all over the trail. It won’t be the usual fast ride until they do a little more brushing.
  4. We arrived at Hotel Forestel at 1am, unloaded, met our friend for a couple of drinks before bed and told old sleddin stories until now. The plan for tomorrow is ride to Louvincort, Senneterre, Lac Faillon for lunch and back to Forestel. I will post some pics tomorrow.
  5. 5 of us are heading up Wednesday around 3, hoping to arrive at Hotel Forestel by 9ish; we plan to do day loops for 4 days in 4 different directions. Day 1 - Loop through Rouyn, La Sarre, Amos and back to Val d'Or. Where is the best place to stop for lunch? Day 2 - Out to Lac Faillon on Fiday for lunch/gas up and back. How is the 83 from Senneterre to Faillon, should we need to call to make sure they have gas and food? Day 3 - Down to La Verendry for lunch/gas and back. Is the trail passable, I see on iMotoneige that it is closed due to freezing rain? Day 4 - Up to Lebel-sur Quévillon for lunch/gas and back. Where is the best place to stop for lunch?
  6. How many sleds had a hard time starting this morning at -40? Perfect timing for the free weekend...
  7. Agreed, Saint Zenon is the worst area for theft.
  8. This should never happen, stay to the right and drive within your means!
  9. It looks like they just groomed it in the last 48 hours, they had a problem with fallen trees after the ice storm but it is in the process of getting cleared up for the weekend.
  10. Maybe head west first across the top of Mont Tremblant Park and then up to 100 Lacs for your first night(63, 322, 319, 53). Second day get up to 83 and start making your way East to Pourvoirie Windigo. 3rd and 4th day loop east to Saint Felicien for lunch and then start looping back south west similar to what you did last year via 355.
  11. I am addicted and constantly on it, I love GREEN LOL!
  12. Hockey kids and parents seem to be a real issue in Quebec for snowmobilers LOL
  13. That makes sense, it gives the freshly groomed trails time to set up.
  14. How many times a day does the app update groomer activity and at what times?
  15. Great report Alain, I really enjoyed reading it and the pictures are beautiful.
  16. Riotel is a great place but it is a terrible ride to get to the main trail through town. Days 4, 5, and 6 are way to short IMO.
  17. That looks like a nice route and you are staying at all the right places IMO.
  18. Only 2 of us going but hoping to check the forum daily and meet up for day rides with fellow QR'ers along the way.
  19. We are planning a 2 week trip starting and ending from Mont Laurier area March 9th - 24th(16 days total; 2 travel days and 14 days of riding). The plan is to ride 300-500km/day and just cover as much of Quebec trails as possible. The entire trip should be around 5,000km and include Gaspe and Sept-iles. We plan on picking our route and making arrangement for accommodations every morning while eating breakfast(weather, grooming activity and conditions dependant). We have done many planned saddle bag trips in Northern Ontario and Quebec where route, gas, food and accommodations have all been pre-planned and booked but we have always wanted to try an ‘on the fly’ style trip. Looking for input from experienced Quebec riders and hopefully someone that has done this ‘on the fly’ style trip before. Carm
  20. Take a look at my post above, dark blue indicates 40 - 50 inches on the ground; Ville Marie North and East are good to go and the groomers are on the move, should be great riding there this week.
  21. I think the Val d'Or area is the best bet for riding until everywhere else freezes up and gets a few more snow storms.
  22. Looks like a good itinerary, should be a great trip, hopefully you get good weather and freshly groomed trails!
  23. Looks like the area maybe affected by the warm up this weekend, I would confirm conditions are good before you hit the trails.
