VTrider got a reaction from vt_bluyamaha54 in Current Conditions: St Zenon or St. Raymond?
Yeah... i was bummed to hear this. The last communication i had from them was that they were coming to the La Glaciere where there is secure sled and trailer parking. The hotel where the sled was stolen is right in the main part of town...right off of hwy 131. On the way home on sunday...I saw a another truck and trailer park there and wondered if the hotel management would warn them of the incident the day before...hmmm??? My wife and I stayed at the Montagne Coupee earlier this year and they have a nice setup for your sled. They will also let you park trailer in there if there is room. Only downfall is the garage is a little hike down the hill from main hotel...also a little bit of asphalt riding to get to main trail, which can be an issue in spring weather. On a bright side....me and my daughter had an amazing time riding the trails this past weekend after her deployment. From the desert sands to the frozen lands....she was all smiles !!!

Great trip with all of the components that make our sport the greatest. Comaraderie, memories, challenge, ingenuity, adrenaline, natural beauty and the thrill of whatever the trail sends your way. Great job to all whose talents and skill made this mission a total success. I've gotta believe that the SledMagazine.com / Motoneiges.ca SideWinder was the first SideWinder ever at Havre St Pierre.

Extra gas was an an insurance policy, deep snow and one run at 100+ miles, best to bring it. Noone needed any but if you have sled issues and someone needs a tow you never have too much gas.

Don't make me go on HCS and pull all the stolen sled threads from the good old United States of Merica.
It happens plenty in the USA too. So get over it. Have not heard of very many all this year.
Theres always bad people out there.
Never heard of this place. Sorry for his loss. Never in trailer. Just use real locks with real hardened chains if you put cable thru ski loops or bumpers you don't really care cause that is useless.

kdelabruere, They are common friends of ours.... i was hoping they were going to meet up with me and my daughter and stay at the La Glaciere in St. Zenon where there is secure parking. They were staying at the Hotel La Porte de la Matawinie which is located in Saint-Jean-De-Matha. The hotel looks to have nice accommodations but trailers and sleds are exposed...several gas stations right near parking lot too. Busy little area. If I had known they were staying there I would of warned them. Such a bummer for Mark....seeing how that sled was brand new. I was hoping to meet up on the trails with them but then got the text of the bad news. The Montagne Coupee Hotel in St-Jean-De-Matha also has secure sled parking. Friggin hate thieves !!!! i hope karma bites them in their thieving ass !!!

VTrider got a reaction from PLAYHARD in 2016-2017 Shawingan Snow Reports
Yeah...I have been watching that rain. Plan is to come up Thurs afternoon and ride through sunday with my daughter. Looks like some backside snow after the rain goes through...correct? Would there still be plenty of options of riding from the Drakkar later this week? My daughter just got home from military deployment in the desert and is anxious to ride....

Yes for sure, it just won't be like it was when you were here before, but very doable. No way it will be gone.

Just wanted to let fellow Quebec riders know that we stayed here last weekend and were very happy with the accommodations. We parked the truck and trailer there for 3 days and saddlebagged. The owner provides a nice breakfast and with the electric gate and cameras it appears to be a nice safe location. Please support the new owners as they support us riders, one hand washes the other.

No call yet. When I know it will be here. They were jammed with work. Plus, they know he is not coming back up yet so the sled is low on the priority list for them right now.
For sure I will let you all know
