Make sure the plumber orders enough parts for two!
the stacked cans worked great (4300 miles) although I realize it's not recommended by doo.

Fuse I was sitting here tonight thinking the same thing, can I go back to a 2 stroke? After chasing BJ around all year it sure would be fun to be on equal machinery. This is my set up and BJs he uses a 4 gallon for gas with a 2.75 gal. For oil, I think that what it is, on top and has a bag that fits between gas/oil can for clothes, etc. plus the "picnic basket" on the rear.
I am going to plumb my 4 gallon can into the fuel system for next winter so it empties first getting that weight off the rear end..

After a great day Thur. with everything falling into place it was time to move on and Phil1 had a plan to run through New Brunswick Via Moose Valley for lunch so he could say hello to his favorite gal in N.B. Josie. Off we went on 587 to local trails and into N.B. and meant the same quality trails and super scenery that we enjoyed in Quebec. Made it to Moose Valley for a great lunch and Phil1 got his wish as Josie was working.. After lunch Phil1 was leading the pack down through  Edmundston and then pointed her north west on a super smooth FAST T.Q. 85 with his sights set on RDL and the last leg of our trip where he didn't disappoint with his pace!!

Got into RDL around 2:30 and loaded em up for the ride home.
I'd like to give a great big thank you to Phil1 and Scranton1 for the awesome job they did as our team leaders!!! Thanks guys!
One hell of a week with a great bunch of guys!  Not only there riding ability but there Team Spirit and attitudes as well!

Wake up to -5f and today's plan is to head to Groomer land. So off on 5 we go on smooth fast hard pack with the scratchers down after 5 mi out my 1200 falls flat on its face! No codes, not hot. So myself and limesqueezeaxys start and evaluation as the others are ahead Makin Trax we quickly discover that the main relay must have frozen after we pulled and checked all fuses etc. reinstall and walah she's up and running..the group is a couple mi. ahead waiting and happy to see all is good! Off we go. As we enter the Groomers trails all is held true to the story's of his being just that much better!! We hammer down in the carpet.
After several mi. who do we run into on the trail..the one and only himself working his magic. We stop and have a nice trail side visit and invite him to join us for dinner. We then head out for Amqui to drop our bags and head to the Mts. to play before dinner. We meet up with Groomer later and have great conversation and dinner with him.

After a relaxing night at the Hotel Copper we're back on the white gold. Run up the 597 to the local to La-Cache the trail is in great shape we're  all smiles hammer down!! Get into La Cache fuel and head north on 595 to see the Chic-Chocs close up! After a couple miles we notice the wind picking up more and more with a light snow after 30mi the wind is blowing sideways and it now cloudy with low visibility. We make the call to run south out of the weather as we won't be seeing much for sights in this weather. So back through La Cache and hammer down south on 595. We get into New Richmond for a late lunch and it start snowing like CRAZY we hash over whether or not to continue but as we wrap up lunch the snow slows down and we push on figuring we'll ride to wherever? we end up settling down in Point-a-la Croix for the night.

After taking in the sights off we go back to 5 down to 597n where Scranton1 sets the pace on his 850 for the run to Murdochville and the Hotel Copper for the night.

Team doonali (doonali and limesqueezeaxys) joined up with Phil1,Scranton1, LowRider and Dom on a 6 day Gaspe loop.
The teams arrived in RDL Saturday afternoon the 18th. Unloaded had dinner and beverages took one last look at the weather for the week and decided with the forecasted sunshine that the north shore would be our first leg of the trip.
    Sunday 19th.
The 6-7-8 rule applied this week so up at 6 breakfast at 7 on the trail by 8.. perfect! Saddled the horses and off on the local trail to TQ 5 east. Smooth fast hard base for the morning trail softened up a bit as the sun was shining bright! A smoothTQ 5 all the way to the local orange into Cap-Chat for the night. Two blown belts today and a lost but recovered go-pro.

    True dat Blaz'ER!
The NH McGuyvers (bless their souls) amputated the first gator and discussed playing Rubic's wheels. Then I went about 10-15 miles into the Copper and integrity degraded beaucoup.
No need to risk serious carnage to an otherwise perfect (20k mi) machine. And no need to mess with Murphy and imminent deep woods extrication.
I have WORLDS of respect for you expedition riders! But my tool bag's all about duct tape, zip ties & snacks!
8:30 & RDL coming into view! Say bon nuit to the Apex's. Say salud to the Vectors!...

Every summer I say I'm going to learn to speak Québecoise.
So... I figured when Steve @ 4 Saisons Yammi in Gaspe asked about my slides he was being thorough.
We did discuss "ICE RIPPER 144" TRACK" and "JACKSHAFT & DRIVE SHAFT BEARINGS" and I did hear the words "IN STOCK".
Oh well. I'll yield to Iceman's narrative for the day when he gets to it later.
In the meantime, while he's wheeling us both in the U-Haul (spanking her like the rented mule she is), here's today's eye-candy:

Under semi-protest, Blue no like box trucks where there's perfectly rideable trails right outside.

These Maine'ers fixed up some serious range for their "unconventional" riding. Nice plumbing 1500HD!...

    Day 2 Friday
Left RDL on a beautiful white asphalt 526 more like early February here than end of March. Unbelievable. Join up with TQ5 and no surprise it's the same. Frozen hard and wicked fast. Only complaint is the flat light and it is pretty windy, but could always be much worse. Just past Trois Pistoles we stop in a relais parking lot to talk about how frigging awesome this is. Arriving just behind us a few minutes after we meet two guys from Maine. 1500hd and his friend. Obvious from their machines and the auxiliary tanks on the rear, these guys roll with Rob and Roadrunner but decided to pass on the Forestville run this week as the snow was excellent closer to home. Can't say i blame them. Chatted for a few minutes and they rolled on. We followed on out and headed for our gas stop in Rimouski. Perfect trails, very little traffic. TQ5 all the way into Rimouski. Gas and go. To 579 and still very nice. We roll to the 587 and still great. A few places along the roads here on these two trails will be not so nice soon. Kind of not much there now. But just a few parts. Down we go and up to the lookout tower. No mummy's this time of year, no daddy's either. Then we turn our attention to our main objective for the afternoon getting up to the radar. i've never been there. Playhard has been wanting to get up here since forever and we surely tried our best to get up on the spyders this summer only to be denied. But today is the day. We arrive at the Ski area and NHmoose guides us up and the orange trails are super nice. Up Up we climb and there it is. We saw it from afar mocking us almost seemed to be taunting us with a "here i am, now try to get up here" damn you golfball. But we win today. We crest the hill and there it is up close and personal. Success. Victory.    Leave here and take orange local down and across lake to rejoin TQ5. Direction Amqui.  It's too early to head to hotel so off to Albertville to the clubhouse for a late lunch and bonus ride. We PM JG but he has been grooming all day and is tired out. So until next time JG. As always your trails are super. We left you a note with the waitress. Back out of clubhouse and bactrack to Amqui. Jammed hotel with Hockey Tournament, I Just saw 6 sleds pull in only to be turned out because both hotels here are full.    Great day awesome trails. Good to be us.  230 miles
