  1. Heading to Forestel in V.-D., with bride Thur. for 5 days/4 nites of doing loops for Valentines-she never objects to boys saddlebag trips!
  2. Looks like up to 16" and neige for the whole province Tue.-excellent hiver!
  3. Right on-good service there last weekend for 10 of us!
  4. Muffpots are still avail.!
  5. Coming up next Thur.-that whole area is hard to beat!
  6. Echo that-most neige I've seen in over 20 years of riding Val D'Or/Amos/La Sarre/R.-N.!
  7. Yeah-rode railbed back into Temisk. yesterday-was a bit choppy-lots of neige!
  8. Two machines wouldn't start in Temiscamingue Thur. morn @ -30. Local fellow went home got his booster and one still didn't start. After 11/2 hrs. and some heat from a blow dryer second one started. He refused cash-wouldn't take it-drove a wood chip truck to Rayonier mill in Temisk.! Got into Rapide-Sept @ 5 o'clock & -23-guys were chilled. No longer licensed so owner went to his private stash-poured each rider @ shot of rum & once again didn't want to take $-we forced him to!

  12. Pressiac has a decent restaurant right beside the gas pumps!
  13. Have stayed there. Not as sled friendly from an access point but OK. Used to have a heated garage. You have some street running to get there. Gas can be had a few blocks away. I prefer Forestel but to each his own!

  16. Some years ago on the railbed just north of Temiscamingue we came around a curve and saw what we thought was a deer loping along about a 1/4 mi. ahead. As we gradually got closer it turned sideways to look back @ us and with it's furry tail we realized it was a wolf. When we got within about 50 m. he jumped off and as we got up beside where he'd disappeared he was just down to the side baring his fangs as we rode past. As the last rider past he jumped back on the trail and started loping along behind us! We took off a few mi. up the trail and stopped and wondered what would happen if you broke down/ran out of gas and he came along?
  17. I think they showed groomer working east from Hearst yesterday on Ontario Conditions-more snow to west so should be open soon

  19. Got the bride with me-she doesn't want to go-I would anytime-quick turnaround tomor. as they want to get train crew back to Cochrane by 7:45 for New Years Eve!

  21. Just checked sched.-only weekdays-leaving @ 9-arrives 1:50 Moosonee-leaves @ 5 arrives back 9:45 Cochrane
