  1. I'm fortunate that i live just across the border. When I was young & high school days, the 70's my father sent me every weekend to Perkins Quebec at Mcgregor Lake. Doing 50 miles a day back then was tough, lol. Usually would end up at Hotel St Pierre on Saturday nights. Even though I wasn't nearly of legal age quarts were served. This place also always had an ice track out front and usually about mid night the silly racing started. Many good times until about 81 when my sled was stolen and that was it until the mid 90's. Neighbor convinced me to get back into it. Bought a new ZR600 and thought that was king. Had i stayed riding around my house I'm sure it would have. I was hearing about this place called Mout Laurier. Apparently the center of the sledding Universe. We drove up and couldn't believe all the rigs & sleds. This was going to be awesome. Took the Petit trail - rail line down to Tremblant area, you could do it back then, lol. Well i found by 600 was pinned the whole way and I wanted more. Next season came the 1999 Thundercat! Well from then I was only venturing locally around the Mt Pellier area and some times back to Mt Laurier. One weekend when i had no partner I was on the internet and found a guy who would ride with me ( I believe its Gary known as Quebec1). I would meet him at Mt Laurier and we would head north for the day. Here I was thinking JB Scott and back would be a good run. Well that day we went to Parent and back! While i though that was a huge day he sledded back to his place in St Agathe that night. I think he was close to 500 miles for the day. Well after seeing these big fast trails I was hooked and realizing there was a lot more out there I could and wanted to try and as they say the rest is history.Haven't bought an Ontario pass in years. Still the infamous Cote Nord to tackle but otherwise seen most other areas. New GPS just delivered today and prepping for next season. But the best resource for any sledder wanting to ride Quebec is this site. The members on this site are truly amazing and were blessed to have this site and all these tremedous people offering help and advice. Stay safe through this. Winter will be back. Mike
  2. Looking for advice on new bibs for next winter. I have an older pair of Keweenaw bibs but don't find them warm enough anymore. I tried the FXR and did'nt like the fit. Looked at the Ride 509 Range but I'm Leary on these as they don't seem to have been around long. I was going to get new Keweenaw but I don't like the new design with the removable suspenders and upper bib section. They also have the Klimate which are similar in spec i believe and this design appeals more to me. Anyone have the newer bibs and can vouch for the Klimate for warmth & fit? Lastly any better place to buy for off season deals that you know. Thanks in advance Mike
  3. Good job! I have the cat version but I also installed the GSE power steering kit Love the sled
  4. Poor year for me with only 2400 miles. All but 1 day were really great conditions through. Thanks to Dave and Eddie for having pitty on me and taking me with them on a 3 day run. Thanks again guys.
  5. Was this Lottery just the US or Canada as well? I've been a cat guy the last while.
  6. That’s actually pretty good Thanks
  7. Mike How did your 900 ace compare to the 900T when you were out with yours friends at the gas station for mileage per tank? Thanks Mike
  8. Yes you hate to see others get hurt but they were driving like morons. Couldn't make it but his first words sounded like "hows my sled"?
  9. Thanks for the stories this winter. I'm sure most of us would have loved to hang out with you on your adventures. Hope you can do even better next season! We''ll all be here following along.
  10. That's fabulous. Sure hope I'm doing the same in 2 years when i pack it in
  11. thanks for keeping us amused and updated this season. Sad to see it coming to an end. It’ll be another long summer for all of us. Me i have a 3 day ride this weekend. Might be it 😞
  12. We rode it about 2 weeks ago from Moose Valley and was well marked in that direction and great trail
  13. Im not an expert in the area but about 2 weeks ago we took the trail I think you’re referring too. It was well marked. Shows Amqui and L’Assension and then splits. I forget the mileage but I think it was about 3hrs to Point a la Croix from Moose. We gased in a small town on the Que side. Nice ride for sure.
  14. Took this Tuesday from rdl and it works great Mike knows his stuff!
  15. Have you been out this winter or have I missed something?
  16. Mike, Nice putting a face to the name yesterday. Disappointed we didn't get to meet George but then there was Farmerold. We took the trail recommendations and was a great choice which had us back at the truck in Levis at 1. Got home a little later last night as we lost a trailer wheel coming into Montreal. Enjoy the 2 weeks and hopefully run into you again next winter. Mike
  17. We did a run this past weekend and came in from the 85. First part of their trails were nothing great but once you got in they were wide fast trails. We had lunch at Moose Valley and then took the trail toward L'Assension?(spelling) and Point a la Croix for the night. Would look to go back. Great scenery & trails.
  18. Mike,

As i get close to my retirement days and look forward to doing more of this sledding as you are. My question is do you get a better hotel rate than posted when staying his long?

    Thanks

    Another Mike

  19. I am going through this weekend. Turns out they have a free weekend you just need to go online and fill & print it out.
  20. Thanks do you or anybody know if we can cross at Campellton or will we have to back track
  21. So looking at a trip where I'm leaving RDL in the morning to do lunch at Moose valley. Looking at the trails I don't see any legend for mileage or even as to what the trails are like. Wondering if leaving Moose Valley after lunch and heading out towards the Campbellton side and where I should look to spend the night. Any comments on this route is appreciated. Thank You, Mike
  22. Thanks guys Looking forward to this section of the country
  23. Mike I'm planning on being in RDL Feb 22 and heading towards Moose valley the next day (Sunday). If I read your reviews correct there is 2 different trails when leaving from RDL in the NB side? If so what are recommendations on which to take. We're going to keep on going after lunch east and find a spot along the coast for the night. Not sure where yet but that's the direction we're going. Thanks in advance for this as well as your other reports. Happy to see George is with you and doing well. Mike
  24. I couldn't go last year as I was away, but it would have been similar. This is April 7 2018. Parking lot & trail
