willb reacted to snowmaster2112 in Trail 360 from LK. Taureau to Hotel Marineau Mattawin
I’m heading up a week from Saturday to same area and northward for a week and can barely contain myself
I don’t think I’ve ever been “Jon sing” so much ever to ride.

Best thing about the Hotel Central is the story you can tell after staying there. Ask for the rooms over the🤕 bar.😂

Not helpful on that side but mon ami and his brother report 9.2 on the 360 yesterday from Mattawin to the 345 junction
A 7.4 from there to the M20 junction

You can stay at the general restaurant in parent - did you try there (you only mentioned ombré)? Good times. Rooms are very basic but again good times.

willb reacted to iceman in Trail Closure - Sept Iles
First crossing of our resurfacers on the footbridges of the Romaine river. Project paid for by Hydro Quebec because the river no longer freezes following the Romaine 1, 2, 3 and 4 dams. This for the continuity of the TQ3 in the area of the club Le Blizzard of Havre Saint Pierre

willb reacted to Trailblazer in Trail 3 complete
With the news of the Pessimite agreement and now the completion of several bridges on the North Shore Sept Isles, Havre St. Pierre and Baie Johan Beetz is now at our grasp.
Below is the translation of the arcticle
🎉 NEW ACHIEVEMENTS 🎉
In the heart of Minganie, one of the largest snowmobile footbridge construction projects in the country is ending, namely the construction of 5 footbridges, 4 of which will serve the FCMQ trail. For almost 2 years, winter and summer, our team has been building footbridges on the Tortue, Aisley, Romaine rivers as well as Lac Cormier.
We would first like to thank the SEIE, Les Constructions Mackenzie as well as the Innu Council of Ekuanitshit of Longue-Pointe-de-Mingan for their trust in our organization. Thank you also to all our subcontractors who participated directly or indirectly in the realization of these projects. Without forgetting, a huge thank you to all our valuable employees who brought these major projects to fruition! 💪
Footbridge over the Tortue River
23 ml long. and with a capacity of 20 t.m, this footbridge should allow the resumption of maintenance of the trail east of Sept-Îles which had been ungroomed for several years due to this missing bridge towards Havre-St-Pierre.
Cormier Lake Footbridge
235' long and with a capacity of 10 t.m, this footbridge is located above the Romaine 1 reservoir at km 19 of the access road to the Romaine complex dam site (trail outside the FCMQ networks)
Footbridge over the Romaine River
Located more or less 12 km west of Havre-St-Pierre, along route 138, two footbridges were necessary to cross the river due to their width as well as the size of the Romaine River.
The Romaine Ouest footbridge is 55 m.l. long. and with a capacity of 10 T.M.
The Romaine Est footbridge is one of the largest cable and suspension snowmobile footbridges of its kind (suspension bridge) in the world, according to our research. With a capacity of 10 t.m., it allows a resurfacer and its equipment to circulate. It has a length of 167 m.l. or 550’.
P.S. For snowmobilers wishing to visit the North Shore and the Lower North Shore in the years to come, check if the trails will really be maintained by local clubs

Then past clova onwards to Val dor. Trails just kept on giving with basically no traffic and fresh snow. They were tough to follow in some locations due to the snow and low light but the two guys who went through ahead of us made it easier (but less adventurous ha!).
made it to Lac faillon - we both had to dump fuel in as pushing snow could t quite make it with the fun we were having
passed up oil at fer a cheval to hopefully finding some before val dor but that didn’t happen so had to use the Arctic cat oil we bought at Lac faillon (🙀)
made it to Val dor - forestel just before 7 pm. Trails were awesome the whole trip with some moguls formed after the weekend rush near Val dor (but not elsewhere).
1300 kms in three days and that wraps up the year - All in QC too!

Now that the 800 kms drive home is over I can finish the trip report.
Woke up to 15 cms or more of fresh wet snow. And it snowed all day so mush so that we had to be plugged in and constantly wiping the visors. But not complaining as I’d rather see snow in the air than rain!
left fer a cheval as the third group out. the backcountry appreciated the extra snow to keep cool and made it more challenging. Eventually at the turn off to 83 west to clova we were just following a single two person group (who we’d follow all day). Made it to clova on epic fresh snowed trails for a lunch (clova poutine!). The debit machine was working today which was nice although it took 3 minutes to go through!

willb got a reaction from PISTON LAKE CRUISER in BRP Recall
For what it is worth I received the safety recall notice for my 2021 backcountry on Monday (I am in Ontario Canada). BRP appears to be calling it a safety recall now and they say it is recommended to not ride till fixed.

Fer A Cheval was awesome. Clova was PACKED!!! Trails were mostly very good also 😏

Agreed the lasagna was not award winning but better than a prepackaged sandwich which was on the shelf besides the lasagna. Worth noting was the lasagna was $16 for a slice!
hope these places stay open and return to pre Covid service levels; there are already enough places that have seemed to close over the years.
