Can you get to and from the hotel by sled trail??
Yes

Very nice place I have stayed there a couple of times
Not sure what they have for secure parking this year but I believe previously they did
Did you inquire about secure parking when you made your reservations?

With all these retirees I’ll probably have to get a second job to pay in enough social security they can enjoy their hobbies

I left the Saguenay yesterday & the conditions were good from what I could see from highway 20 the conditions looked thin on the south side of the St Lawrence

You always post the best pics JG

My first venture into Quebec back in '84 was through the border crossing at Jackman. Still some of favorite riding memories are in the Chaudiere Appalaches.
I always told Ginger to spread my ashes on the section of trail 75 between the border & the first clubhouse.

Amqui to RDL and back in the USA!!! Left Amqui early this morning and the plan was to see the snow trees on this trip then back to RDL. Riding solo way out in that no man's land (587), in near white out conditions at times (thank goodness for GPS), got to my head and I decided I wanted to be on a blue trail! I probably should have stuck to green and club trails because the traffic+temps+fresh snow = loads of bumps on trail 5. No big deal, the Axys just eats that junk right up!! ;-)
I have to say, I was both happy and sad to get back to RDL. Time to start dreaming about the next trip!
Nice color combo on that sled Terry

I think there is even a warming hut, right at the intersection with 93 and the yellow line.
GutZ
When Ginger & I passed the intersection Sunday the hut was not there

Good call on staying in today. If you have the chance talk to Daniel aka DannyDoo aka DannyDoo to the rescue he was instrumental in assisting the authorities in aforementioned rescue of the fellow from NB & his riding partner that windy & snowy night near Hebertville

Because the hotel is not an advertiser on QR, I will no longer be posting information about the hotel. I will still post trail conditions, trail rides and things to do in the area.
Should the owner of QR decide to contact the hotel about this, I would be happy to do my part and help get them on board.
mike
Instead of stopping posting information about the hotel you should approach them about becoming a paid sponsor
With all promotion you do and all the QR members passing through there you would think they would be more than happy to become a paid sponsor

Thank you for clarifying Steven. The administrators have the best current correct information on advertising. I think if the members get involved in trying to direct sell advertising, there will be varying information out there that may or may not be up to date and accurate. I would be glad to direct a potential advertiser to an administrator but I don't want to get involved with selling advertising space or collecting money.
The other half of the conversation that has come up recently is whether we should mention establishments that we have stayed at in our posts regardless of whether the establishment is an advertiser or not. There are only four advertisers on QuebecRider that are lodging facilities. It would be great if there were a hundred but since there isn't, we can't all stay at only these four places. By posting places that we have enjoyed and have been treated well I think helps everyone and maybe will bring in more advertisers. We post where the gas stations and the restaurants are and these aren't necessarily advertisers. Should we not tell someone where the next gas stop is going to Abitibi or Sept Iles just because they are not an advertiser?
I've always thought that Rob's vision for QuebecRider was a forum for snowmobilers to help other snowmobilers enjoy this great sport that we all love. I also realize that it takes money to keep this site going and many of us gladly put in our $25 per year to help support it.
Just our 2¢ and if I'm wrong on this, my apologies.

I think you are going to an extreme with your example
Of course if someone asks about services they should get an answer about what is available and where and mentioning places you have stayed or enjoyed a nice meal by all means post it regardless of that establishment being a sponsor or not
My point is if you’re on this site constantly promoting an establishment that is not a sponsor maybe you should consider approaching them about becoming a sponsor
For one establishment to get free promotion on almost a daily basis while others pay for advertising isn’t right in my book

Hey Ice while u r at the Saguenee talk to them about the Quebec Rider website and becoming a paid sponsor of the site

Hi Chris,
300 K will get you to Jonquiere / Chicoutimi area. The Delta and Saguenneene are the two popular hotels. From there you can plan your trips. Mont Valin East gets a lot of traffic on weekends. Other than that, enjoy the ride.
Jack & Sandi
I suggest staying at the Delta over the Saguenee since the Delta is a PAID sponsor of this website not to mention a much nicer hotel

We were planning a trip this Wednesday to Sunday. After this rain is there anywhere any good for sledding? There used to be a website with colored areas of the quebec map indicating the conditions but I can't find it anymore. Something like www.admqs.com or something not www.fcmq.com what happened to it? Even the gaspe map doesn't seem to be updated
The Lac St-Jean region has faired the January thaw very well

While in the Saguenay your best bet for XPS oil would be a Ski-Doo dealership
-
To anyone that stays at the Universal I suggest they be sure to mention they heard about them here on Quebec Rider. And as you travel through the Bas St-Laurent region mention at any relais or other business you patronize you learned about them here.
It would be very beneficial to this website to have the Universal & the Bas St-Laurent region as paid sponsors.
