GSX800 reacted to PISTON LAKE CRUISER in No M20 & M21 Again this year
We had the same thing happen in Northern Ontario years ago. It was about 50 miles from a town in either direction so we fought with it for 2 hours before it rolled out. One of those sled happenings you never forget.

GSX800 got a reaction from zeusand in No M20 & M21 Again this year
In 2006 we rode 347 on our way up to Roberval. I would say about 10 miles before Odanak there was an open stream crossing. There was a guy on a Yamaha sitting on the other side. He stopped us and told us not to cross. His sled picked up the perfect size rock to wedge between the track and the forward bulkhead of his tunnel. We crossed on the ice of a little pond and stopped to help him out. There were eight of us plus him. We worked at it for about an hour but could not get that damn rock out of there. Tried to remove the axle but did not have the right tools to do it. He had sent the two guys he was riding with to La Tuque to get a hammer and a bar and said they should be back anytime. One of our guys had a couple of beers in his saddlebag leftover from the night before. We gave him one, and told him if we didn’t see his buddies by the time we got to La Tuque we would come back and get him. About three miles later we met his buddies on their way back for the rescue. Long story, but I have think about that trail every time we pass through. Too bad we lose those trails.

M20 runs between 345 and 360 on the north side of the Mastigouche. M21 is a spur off that. I believe I’m correct in saying it at one time came out by the Windigo Outfitter. This screen shot is an approximation of where the trails are.http://quebecrider.com/forums/uploads/monthly_2023_10/IMG_0177.thumb.jpeg.e9f5655c6f76f4645baed63031f663af.jpeg

GSX800 reacted to iceman in New Bridge Club Motoneige St Raymond
Thanks to the support of the FCMQ, by the end of the week we'll have a new bridge for snowmobilers on trail 23, about 25 km south of l’Etape, Lac Champlain sector.
The Club motoneige St Raymond will be ready to welcome you as soon as the trails are usable.

I never complain about the cost of Quebec permit. The significant grooming capacity and constant investment in infrastructure like this projects makes us all fortunate to have these trails.

GSX800 reacted to Cableguy in What did we lose in the wild fires this year?
We rode motorcycles through that area the first week of September and saw no fire damage anywhere. We were on our way back from a James Bay-Trans Tiaga trip. We rode the dirt roads from Senneterre to La Tuque passing through Parent, Clova and Casey. We even camped at the old radar site in Parent with no sign of any recent fires so I believe all is good to go in that area.

GSX800 reacted to Fuse6 in Help withTrip planning around gaspe 2024
Last two years we have done a 6 day New Brunswick/Gaspe tour.
Here is one option for a route. Will see all of the most scenic parts of the Gaspe. Miss out on Perce Rock but l don’t find it the highlight of the trip.
We were in the Gaspe last week of February this year and it was very busy. All hotels were full. Going again mid February this year and will book ahead. Rather not but not safe if requiring multiple rooms during prime season.
Another route option in NB: we start in Edmunston, head north to Moose Valley then on to Campellton. That’s a nice one day ride. At Campellton you can take the shuttle (Mundle’s Towing ) to get across the bridge into Quebec. Was $50 a sled last year.
On the map l’m showing not crossing at Campellton but taking the 587S trail up to Amqui. I really like that ride. Then take the orange trail down to NB which will hook up with the NB trail leading to Moose Valley, NB.
200 miles a day in the Gaspe is a full day, mid February the days are short. 200 miles is what we do on the guys trip. On couple trips we aim for 150-175 miles . Find with the wives there is a fine line between a great day vs turning it into a marathon.

GSX800 reacted to Je me souviens in Gouin
Seems like so many places we all love have changed hands in the past couple years, or are about to.
Ombre du vent
Fer a Cheval
100 lacs was for sale, but they changed there minds
My personal favorite Auberge Clova
relais du touriste
Notawissi
Gouin
lac du repos
kanawata
and many others I am sure I missed. It sucks to lose your contacts, the new owners don’t realize you are a longtime customer and have been coming for over a decade, making getting you out of a jamb a little less appealing…

GSX800 reacted to iceman in Open House Weekend?
Slow morning so I took time to call the FCMQ.
No dates announced yet for free weekend.
They did say it’s been discussed to make it in February as 14-15 January is too early for many clubs.
The person I spoke with said probably last weekend in January or first one in February.
will know in October

GSX800 reacted to NSHM in It gets better.
Saw this last year at Le Pub next to Hotel Du Domaine , Boise du Domaine in Thetford Mines. Men Women and children all in one big room. Stalls and urinals.
No door going into the "room"... all one big happy family... Way to go trudeau.
Just read that gender reveal party's are bad because the thing that is birthed hasn't yet had a chance to decide upon it's own gender identity .... WTF is this world coming to?? What happened to follow the science?

GSX800 reacted to Signfan in 23/24 season trail pass
Its the cdn government that would close the border on you. You will always be allowed to cross to go home. I highly doubt we're going down this road again. Buy your permit and plan your trips.
